Maks flew low over the Capital, the breeze feeling cool upon his face. Or, the lack thereof. Throughout his twenty years of existence, the Hisstor Bat had never met another Card with a distinct lack of facial muscle and skin. He was thankful to at least have eyes in tact, as his bright blue ones scanned the ground below him. Even on a Monday, the Capital City was bustling with activity. So many people walking here and there, many of them off to work or to the Bazaar. Still no sign of that Wolf, though. Two full days of searching had brought him nothing. He'd never give up though. He'd just have to keep his eyes and ears open at all times. Just then, his large ears caught snippets of a conversation going on below him. As he dipped lower, Maks found that the conversation was more of an argument than anything else. It seemed that a pair of teenage boys were in a heated discussion...but wait, were they attached? And was that a talking skull perched on the end of a tail? Curiosity taking over, the Bat dropped down to the ground, landing with a light thud since he wasn't being entirely graceful. Not wanting to startle them, he cleared his throat as a way to announce his presence. "I apologize for the interruption, but I couldn't help noticing you from up there." he said, pointing to the sky. "I've never seen someone like you before in my travels...but before I continue, let me introduce myself. My name is Maks, and I come from Hisstor Wastes. May I ask you your names?"He hoped they wouldn't be frightened by his appearance, like so many others were. But since there was another talking skull in front of him, he hope that wouldn't be the case.

"We are not lost." Benedict stated flatly as his brother stared through the window. "Then where are we?" Falks said in his awkwardly scratchy voice. His nose wiggled as he eyed the people through the glass. "I don't know where we are. And I've never seen this shop before." "This is the place that Mom took us when we were younger. You probably just don't remember because you were freaking out over something or other." Benedict snorted causing his brother to jerk with surprise at the sudden intake of air. He was turning to face his brother and say something snarky in return, only he saw something rather large and pale land beside him. With a wordless exclamation he spun around with a wide eyed stare at the person who just appeared. Person with a skull for a head. Both Benedict and Falks stopped for a moment in their thoughts to process the person in front of them. This was utterly amazing. Ben was the first one to speak. "Oh no, it's fine. We weren't busy or anything. We can totally make time for someone like you. It's not everyday we meet someone who... well... we have something common with."
He was a bat too. It was pretty amazing. "I'm Benedict.""And I'm Falkenhayn."

The Hisstor bat bowed his head slightly as the boys introduced themselves. Benedict spoke with the same ease that he himself did, even with the distinct lack of an actual mouth. This excited him greatly, and he knew he must get to know the both of them. Having friends like them would help Maks not feel so alone in his secluded world.
"Thank you. I've certainly never met anyone like myself before now. I guess it's something I never thought I'd see."
For once, the Wolf he'd been searching for all his life was not the foremost thought on his mind. Finding these boys here had really surprised him, and he knew they were someone he'd want to stay in touch with. At this point in time, Benedict and Falkenhayn were his main priority.
"Would you boys like to go somewhere where we can get to know each other? I know a small café a short ways from here that's usually rather quiet. That way we shouldn't be disturbed. Unless, you have somewhere you need to be?"

The cat bat and sibling glanced at each other. Did they have something to do? They were supposed to meet their mother today but.... she never really said what time. Falkenhayn's whiskers twitched in thought as he continued to watch his brother. They could just go with the stranger. There was a lot of danger in that but the stranger didn't think they either of them were freaks of nature so....
Why not?
Benedict was the first to respond. "We'd be happy to go to the Cafe with you. It's the nice little one down the street with the red tables outside right? The one with the rather eccentric owner?"
It was the same place that their mother had took them a while ago. Falks probably didn't remember. He enjoyed the tea though. And they had quite nice desserts.
Falks nodded in agreement with his brother's statement. Even if he was technically the one in control of the Body his brother seemed to make all the decisions.

Maks watched as the brothers silently had a conversation with each other. He then became aware that his being a stranger to them could possibly scare them off. The bat knew he wasn't creepy beyond his appearance, but he'd have to prove that to the boys if they gave him the chance.
When Benedict spoke again, he was glad to hear that they did want to sit and talk. They even knew where the café was! This was absolutely wonderful. If he had muscle and skin covering his face, he'd be grinning from ear to ear.
"Yes! That is precisely the café I mentioned. I'm glad you already know of it. Now, before we head off, is there anyone you need to contact to let them know of your whereabouts? I know I'm a stranger, and I don't want you boys to think badly of me."
There. That should cover his bases. These two seemed perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, but he didn't know if they were here in the Capital with anyone else. So, might as well take precaution and ask.

Benedict wasn't particularly worried. Of course it wasn't like he had any facial expressions to go by. The bat didn't either, but he at least sounded genuine. If worse came to worst Benedict assumed that his brother would actually try to do something. He was part cat, and even if his hands were bound he had learned a few things in the palace of Hearts.
Though Benedict would argue that he learned more.
Falks was still slightly worried, but his expression was always one of slight terror. On the rare occasions his pupils were close to a normal size, he tended to give off an air of mildly creepy even to the people who didn't know him. Looking frightened was far more natural.
He let the bat lead the way to the cafe, since he couldn't have guessed where it was. The place was nice and a little out of the way, and as soon as they walked in they were seated by a rather nice lady, though she was completely taken aback by the people in front of her.
