Life was... complicated for Morgan.
With its mother dead, it had only its adopted sister to name as kin. Both of them displaying Avington heritage made this even more plausible to any who might ask. It would go where Mirriam went. It had no place of its own and no way to make one, at least not yet.
Mirriam went to the Highlands, to a house purchased by its mother prior to the man's end? Very well. It had Highland blood as well. It was curious to see what that really meant.
After living in the realm for a month, that apparently meant that it was better than non-Highlanders, which Mirriam told it to be false. A very strange people it had inherited from Khushrenada.
Curses and bindings made its life more difficult. It had yet to gather sufficient funds to remove the curse placed on its neck, causing an unrelenting and aggravating stiffness. Turning its head was impossible. It could barely remember what it felt like to be able to turn its head, so little time had it possessed the ability. The weights magically attached to its legs also dragged at its every step, leaving it far more sluggish to respond to any situation. It could not turn its head and so it had to turn its body. Turning its body necessitated moving all four legs, which had not previously been particularly well-muscled. That had begun to change out of necessity.
Daily life tired it quickly. It had constant nightmares about the things that it had seen during its first few hours of life - horrible things, unnatural things, things that should not exist. Regardless of what Mirriam said, it knew this down to its core. Sleep could be difficult to find some nights.
It had to work to earn enough money to pay for the removal of its curse. More than anything, it wanted the freedom of its neck to return. It could do very little without that range of motion, which had severely limited its job potential from the start. Its lack of any background or references also hampered it, though its rank stood in its favor. Somewhat.
Despite what his rank might suggest, finding an unskilled job as a Queen had not been easy. Its rank and curse knocked it out of the running for anything to do with agriculture, which much of the Highlands thrived on. It could not effectively work in a fast-paced retail setting. It did not possess any specialties as of yet from which to draw on. Its lack of a childhood in which to develop skills put it at a distinct disadvantage.
In the end, its Diamond ability of flight enabled it to work as a part-time courier. It possessed a long enough duration to be useful in reaching the surrounding communities and it was not disadvantaged by either its weights or its neck while flying. Also, having a Queen deliver messages added some mark of status to the message, especially in the Highlands. Its employer seemed pleased to have it, while it was pleased to be accumulating money.
((Whoever wants to play needs to have a reason for receiving a message somewhere in the Highlands. <3))
