It took Eddy a couple of moments to release his drink so that he could respond to Sadie's kind words. Nice lady, especially since bringing him Apple Juice and trying to be nice to Momma... He wasn't particularly sure what to say to make sense of his happiness at that, so he simply wagged his tails and beamed up at the woman. "It's very good! Thank you Miss Sadie!"
Parvana smiled fondly, sipping her tea softly as Sadie spoke. Ohhh, the Gardens! It was a secret fondness for her, such a bright and colorful place full of flowers and -- as Sadie herself was proof -- beautiful women. Briefly the butterfly blushed before her smile widened once more.
"No, I'm afraid I've never been there myself but I've always really wanted to go. The Gardens seem like such a beautiful place, and I do adore flowers." The butterfly smiled brilliantly, excited by such a prospect as visiting the Gardens. "What was it like living there?"

Yes, she did like this sweet puppy. He had such good manners and a wonderful disposition, and displayed the proper attitude towards his mother and Sadie herself. Respect for women... That, to the Yarrow woman, was the best quality any man could have, and it made her happy to see the boy already going in such a good direction in his life. With a grin, she reached out and ruffled his mane gently before combing it back into place with her dexterous hands. "Eddy, you are very welcome.[/b]" she replied, quite pleased to see the boy displaying good manners as well.
It only made her feel more certain that Parvana was a wonderful woman and mother. After all, the boy was a Torque who's other parent had been killed... and yet, he retained so much energy and obviously loved his mother - and, to a certain degree, the world - very much. It was a lovely sight.
But then, Sadie's interest returned to the butterfly, and her joy at speaking about her homeland shone through clearly in her posture and in the way her expressive antennae danced above her head. "Oh, it was... It was amazing. I miss it every day, but I'm getting a lot of lifetime goals accomplished so I'm keeping myself distracted.[/b]" Lifetime goals... One of them was coming to fruition right before her eyes, in the form of the lovely blue-and-black butterfly. She smiled somewhat encouragingly. "Being surrounded by so many strong and beautiful women... It was inspiring, really.[/b]"
Then she laughed softly, the antennae flicking back demurely as she covered her beak with her hands, glancing up at Parvana from beneath partially-lidded eyes, something almost flirtatious in her expression for the briefest moment. "Oh.. but you must forgive me. I do tend to become overly excited when it comes to my home.[/b]" She straightened slightly, the blush fading from her cheeks. "Where did you grow up, if I may be so bold?[/b]"

The butterfly couldn't help but smile as Sadie spoke. She absolutely adored her home, it was impossible not to see that, and she also had a strong love for the Yarrow women themselves, which was not unexpected. "Yes, it's hard to make all of one's dreams come true in one place." She'd been moving around so much herself, even though she'd temporarily been distracted from her scientific goals.
However, when Sadie finished with that... heart-pounding look, Vana was momentarily distracted from her thoughts. Her breath caught a little and, in her surprise, she ducked her head away as her wings fluttered thoughtlessly. She was so very unaccustomed to flirting. "Oh... Oh it's no problem at all." The butterfly laughed softly before attempting to meet Sadie's gaze again without falling pray to that vicious embarrassment.
"Oh, well... I grew up in Corvistowne, but rather close to the edges of the city. My parents were a bit reclusive and it only got worse after I was born, very protective people, so where I grew up was very beautiful and full of little gardens that my mother tended. I must admit I was shocked the first time I saw what my home region was really like, and I really didn't stay long before coming to the Capital." Even though her home had been beautiful it simply hadn't been the same after mother and father died, and it had been terribly hard to live in a big house all by herself.
Eddy's ears perked as he listened to his mother and Miss Sadie talk. They were talking about places and, while he'd never been to either of them, they both sounded very pretty. Gently he reached up, tugging lightly on his mother's shirt. "Momma... I wanna see these places one day too..."

Sadie smiled at Parvana, nodding slightly at her. The world was a huge place. For all the travelling she'd done, Sadie didn't feel even slightly satisfied. There was still so much to be done. In this moment, however, she realized that she felt oddly content - she'd never dreamed that she'd find such a rarity in the Capital - practically waiting right under her nose for her! Not only that, but she felt unbelievably happy at how wonderfully kind the butterfly was. She'd often wondered if she'd find another insect whether or not she'd even like them enough to talk with them.
As it was, she was quickly learning that she quite liked what she saw of Parvana, and the woman had a certain sweetness that made the mantid's heart sing. And the response to her flirtatious look... Sadie was experienced enough to notice it and appreciate it for what it was. As much as she loved Yarrow women, the striking blues of the butterfly were lovely to behold, especially against the black of her exoskeleton.
When Parvana went on to speak about her own hometown, Sadie's head inclined to the side, a slightly avian motion that went along with her beak. Corvistowne wasn't exactly high on her list of places she wanted to visit, and to a certain extent Parvana's words added to it. But all the same, there was a certain charm to her descriptions, especially in regards to her mother's garden. "That sounds lovely... Having even a little bit of beauty can add so much to an area.[/b]"
When Eddy piped up, Sadie went quiet for a moment, then stood smoothly. She looked at puppy and butterfly with a considering expression, then a smile settled itself on her beak. "Come with me for a moment, if you would.[/b]" she lead them to the small deck that extended off the room, opening the door for them. When they stepped out, she'd whisper a soft word, and in a moment the deck would be covered in Yarrow flowers that popped up under their feet, unfurling and growing in an instant. Sadie knelt and plucked one, extending it to Parvana with a smile. "It's only a small taste of my home, but...[/b]" As long as there were only this many flowers and they were outside, Sadie felt confident that neither Parvana nor Eddy would feel their ill effects.
Small Ability Once a week, she is able to cause Yarrow flowers to blossom in a two foot area. They will stay strong and healthy unless uncared for after that or trodden on. These are the infamous Yarrow flowers and more than 200 of them in one place could cause some non-Yarrows, or those unused to her place of residence to feel faint when near them.

Sadie really had no idea. The flowers had made life so much more bearable. Without them, and without mother, there'd been no reason at all to stay in Corvistowne.
When the mantis rose to lead them outside, Vana tilted her heads in confusion before slowly rising and beckoning the curiously puzzled Eddy to the deck behind them. When the flowers erupted over the deck, Eddy yipped in surprise and skipped back before being yanked up to be in his mother's arms once more.
Vana gasped with surprise and delight, hugging Eddy with her lower arms as she accepted the extended flower. Yarrow flowers had always been her favorite and the sight of them now left her in a stunned wonder. "Oh, Sadie, they're gorgeous! I've always dreamed of getting to see some of these in person..." The butterfly could barely contain her pleasure and Eddy didn't know what to think of it.
They were pretty, but they were just flowers... pretty pretty flowers. The little canine wiggled and took a deep whiff only to wind up sneezing. They tickled his nose!

More fascinating to Sadie than the unfurling of the flowers at her feet, as beautiful as they were and as homesick as she felt at smelling the first traces of their scent in the air, Sadie was much more interested in watching the look on the Butterfly's face. Such delight, such wonder, and all caused by her. Eddy seemed rather less impressed, but that was nearly lost to the Queen's eyes in favor of the apparent joy radiating off of Parvana. That... That was worth it, she was quite sure. How would the woman react if she was able to see the Yarrow itself, the lands utterly covered in beautiful flowers like these? Some day, perhaps... There would be time to consider a trip like that.
The corners of her beak twisted into a smile, her antennae relaxing from their perked and almost anxious position as the flower was accepted. "I'm ever so pleased to hear that you like them,[/b]" the Mantis said softly, the hand that she'd used to offer the flower with gently resting atop Parvana's own, pink eyes meeting blue for a long and thoughtful moment.
Such a beautiful face. She wanted to reach out and brush her fingers across it, lovely in all the ways that her own was intimidating. For a moment, she almost did.
Then a sneeze brought her back to herself, and she laughed openly.
"Oh, dear. It would seem that Eddy isn't quite as enamored with them, are you?[/b]" She turned her attention back to the little boy, utterly masking her inner discontent. Of course he wouldn't appreciate them, he was a boy. No matter how sweet he was or how lovely the fact that he was part insect was... That part wasn't going to change, and Sadie would just have to deal. "I'm sorry I don't have anything more suited to you. I can send for more juice, perhaps?[/b]" She smiled warmly, letting her Diamond Charm lace her words.

Perhaps it was the nature of her breed to be so adoring of flowers, but the sight and scent of them always put her into the best sort of mindset. It was enchanting, beautiful, and utterly breathtaking that Sadie could produce such an amazing ability. It was unlike anything she'd ever seen.
When the mantis' hand laid atop her own, Vana felt her cheeks heat once more as she found herself lost in the Queen's beautiful gaze.
Eddy's absent sneeze jolted Vana out of the spell with Sadie's laughter and she too could not help but giggle at it. The laughter only seemed to confuse the young child, for his ears perked forward and he grinned awkwardly.
"They're pretty but they make my nose itch." Maybe they couldn't tell because they were bugs and he was a Puppy? Uncle Toli said that they had the best noses in the world, puppies that was. Eddy didn't want to be rude, so he wagged his tails lightly. "I'm sorry?" Vana gave the boy a gentle hug and he perked up a bit at the offer. "Juice is good!"
The butterfly giggled again and smiled thankfully at Sadie. "It's getting late too, perhaps it's time to start winding down for bed as well?"
Eddy considered this with a pout, but also compared it to the sad knowledge that his only other option was to watch Mama and the Mantis Lady continue giving each other googly eyes over flowers. It made bed surprisingly more interesting. "Okay, I guess."
