Mirriam's brown eyes widened. "Oh wow! That's a lot!" Contrary to Nephy's vague horror, though, Mirriam sounded awed. She, who had never known any siblings, and even had to live a lot of her life without many kids around her age, loved the idea of having so many others there to play with and be friends with. She carefully counted out seven more of everything, placing them all around the rather-large table (but it would have to be, to seat so big a family!) and when they'd finished it was time to wake the cousins.
Mirriam returned Nephy's grin and fluttered after him, still apparently full of energy after their little adventure. She moved from one room to the next, amazed at all the bright colors and pretty wings all the sisters had. They sure took after their mom, didn't they? That was fine, since Mirriam had taken after her own mother as well. In the last room, though, was someone completely different. Not only was the Human girl not pink and fairy-like, but she also was already awake and reading a book. Perhaps Nephy and her got along well?
"Hi!" the Bat squeaked cheerfully, and waited to be introduced. "Oh yeah, something really cool! Me and Nephy had an adventure!" Since the Skunk seemed to want to keep it a surprise, Mirriam didn't elaborate just yet. But for some reason, the grey girl seemed unimpressed. Maybe she was just grumpy in the mornings. Mirriam knew some Cards were like that. She turned eagerly to the other girl in the room, who was another pink-and-yellow fairy. Her ears perked hopefully. Was this one the warrior princess?
((sounds good to me. <3))

((I was informed I had a JubJub to collect. :3 )) As Myfanwy was used to dealing with Eulalie on a regular basis, the little bat's exuberance was nothing to be alarmed by. A stranger's presence in their bedroom was, however, slightly alarming. Rather than make an issue of it--her cousin was there as well, so she supposed she could blame the breech of conduct on him--she decided she would get up and start the day. And find out more about the stranger; any threat to her siblings had to be eliminated. Myfanwy disengaged from her nest of blankets. Though she wasn't very fond of mornings, she made sure to be up with with the rest of her sisters. They could get into all sorts of trouble if she allowed herself to sleep in rather than watch them. The only exception being Liadan, who didn't need looked after so much as company; quiet unobtrusive company that Myfanwy was happy to provide her. It wasn't particularly quiet now that the rest of their siblings were waking, however. "An adventure?" she mused. She'd like to have an adventure, but she was much too busy keeping a careful eye on her sisters to leave home for any length of time. "Let's see it, then."

"Come into the living room," Nephy said. Amazing, how his sleepiness seemed to ebb and flow; in front of his cousin with the prospect of revealing their sweet catch, he felt again revitalized. This was probably going to end poorly, energy wise, and by poorly he meant in a nap face-down in his waffles. But for now he had work to do!
He led his cousin and Mirriam to the wagon and smiled proudly. In the wagon was their bound and bagged Jubjub bird. He tugged back the sack a little bit to reveal its ugly, unconscious face.
"We outwitted it," he said, adopting a somewhat bombastic storytelling tone, "in a tremendous display of ingenuity and determination! Also science. And, uh...I thought you might like a beast of battle. We thought you stood a better chance than most at taming it."
This was true; being in Myfanwy's presence had reminded him of what a wee military captain's disposition she had. He figured she must have gotten it from Uncle Zeev; from what he remembered, he had been in the Heart Guard, and what Myffie seemed to have inherited from Aunt Iphis was exactly what Nephy had inherited from his mom--a deep and abiding pinkness.

Mirriam nodded eagerly and took to the air again with a flutter of wings. She looked back a few times to grin and make sure that the fairy girl was following. "Are you the warrior princess? That is so cool! I've heard a lot about you from Nephy!" she asked eagerly as they entered the living room. The little bat perched on the back of a chair, claws digging a little bit into the fabric of it, and looked on with wide eyes as their quarry was revealed in all its ugly glory. She couldn't help but lean just slightly away from the Jubjub, despite the fact that it was thoroughly bound and contained. The flash of fear was entirely unconscious, and she pushed it away as she listened to Nephy's version of their night.
"We defeated and captured the enemy," she added solemnly. "It was all very dangerous and exciting, but it was in the name of adventure! And science." She smiled again, showing off pointed teeth, and looked eagerly at Myfanwy for her answer. Would she be able to tame the fearsome beast?

A Jubjub, was it? Awesome. Myfanwy leaned in for a closer look of the bound creature.
It's coloration didn't look all that formidable--though she felt rather the same about her own pastel markings, and knew it really had little to do with anything; better to be underestimated, besides--but Jubjubs were by nature fearsome beasts, and she was certain this creature would be no different.
"I would be willing," she heard herself murmur. The thought of taming such a creature filled her with a thrill. It was perhaps selfish, and she might have to give up the idea if she couldn't ensure the safety of her sisters, but for the moment she felt confident enough to accept the challenge.
"I think you shall be Brynjar," she told the Jubjub as one pink eye slid open to regard her. A fierce, strong name for such a creature; it was fitting.
