(AHHHH OH MY. I forgot about this thread! Forgive me on Jenn-one x.x)
Anubis fidgeted as he watched the other Jack's mannerisms. Something about this other man really did seem to rub him the wrong way. But, he was here for business, and he'd remain the perfect gentleman. The feathers atop his head fluffed up a bit higher unconsciously, as his eyes moved to rove over his doe. Time for the sales pitch he supposed.
"Yes she is, she is capable of a great many things." His lip curled up at the edge and he let his eyes remain on her for a moment longer than necessary before turning back to the other Jack.
His nostrils flared only briefly while he watched the male twirl his mane idly. Before. . . his eyes fixated on it. The most beautiful piece of golden weaponry he had ever seen, just sitting there, on this buffoons hearth. The sword gleamed and sparkled, like a living thing. He tore his eyes from it quickly to turn back to the other male. Though now that Anubis had noticed it, he could not ignore the golden sparkle in his peripheral vision.
"Yes. . an arrangement sounds, lovely."
Don't show your cards you fool, be cool.
"Perhaps more than one arrangement even, if we deem goods worthy. Did you have anything in mind, in particular?"

"I had initially considered a trade of Leveret-for-Leveret. Especially considering that the partial Hisstor is your child, I would assume you to be more interested in females with no familial ties to your warren." Dorian spoke idly, continuing the act of a bored nobleman. Most of it wasn't an act, really, but he was playing it up especially hard in this instance. He needed for nothing. He merely considered the possibility of an interesting trade. He wasn't the one desperate for anything.
It would just be bad business and foolish trading.
"I have a good number of Leverets to pick from. We are not lacking for workers in this warren." He smiled, something in his expression saying that he knew the other Jack's warren was small and it was almost a favor of him to offer a Leveret for a Leveret rather than deplete his numbers further. In a less polite, political, and social setting, it probably would have merited notice. As it was, the other Jack was in his warren. His very successful desert warren. He preened a little.
"Should there be any other... 'arrangements' that interest you, please feel free to mention them." Tawny eyes drifted to the fiery-maned Doe, wondering. Was this a favorite, to be toted around with him and shown off as an exotic prize? Or was she 'available' for the right price?

Anubis tapped his fingers lightly on the chair arm, letting the other Jack's words swirl about in his head. Leveret for leveret would be the for the best. Though so far he hadn't been overly impressed with the leveret he had seen. Perhaps this Jack had more? He had heard Dorian's warren was a decent size.
"Humm. Yes, I believe leveret for leveret sounds fine." He paused for a moment, measuring his words before they were said. Such a political dance, he'd be rubbing his head later when he could let his guard down.
"Though, I would prefer one other than who we were greeted with. If you have more than the one leveret?" He knew the other Jack did, but figured the male was more likely to share what his warren held if his ego was at stake.
Anubis lifted a brow lightly for a moment when he thought he noticed Dorian's gaze drift over his doe. A small thrill of greed rushed up his back and he placed a furred hand on her flank proprietarily.
"I do have a small fondness for gold," he said off-handedly, his eyes straying back to the sword on the mantle. Perhaps the male would get the hint without him having to say anything at all. Though if it wasn't magical it wouldn't be worth a doe. . . One could always hope.

Dorian graced the other Jack with an indulgent smile. They were playing at words. It was all so civilized. In his own mind, he was a prince among men in wordplay and could charm the feathers from a finch with his silver tongue. Then again, he felt that way about most of the many and varied skills he considered himself practiced in.
"Oh yes, there is certainly quite a selection at the moment. The little Yarrow fluff is new. Very high-strung at the moment. I'm hoping she'll calm down a bit, the poor dear. Let me see, though... who would be fitting? We have a very exotic Solandrian lady at the moment. Her fur is a magnificent texture." She frequently displayed it as a rug on his floor instead of going about and doing her duties. A dissatisfying trade, that one. She was simply not cut out for life in the desert. He would be happy to make a trade for her someday, even with her pretty jewelry and attractive touches of blue.
At the mention of gold, his ears twitched and he blinked. His mind was still flitting around his Leverets. But... did he really want to trade her? She was such a dear little thing. Amazing with a hairbrush. Properly deferential. A pleasure to be served by.
On the other hand, he would be receiving a half-Hisstor, the Torquehelm Jack's own daughter. This was no small trade. Perhaps it would be for the best?
"There is another Leveret in particular who might pique your interest, though I would be loathe to part with her. The darling girl is an ideal servant. Morganberry, with strong yellow tones mixed in." His thought process had been briefly distracted from thoughts of the Doe.

Anubis sat quietly, letting the other Jack dissect his own Warren quite happily. Solandrian? Humm, he thought inwardly to himself. He supposed he had probably seen a few of the realm from a distance at some party or another, grey and blue weren't they? Boring colours. But before he could respond Dorian brought up another leveret, one that piqued his interest quite a lot indeed.
"Humm, that does sound more along my preferences." He let his eyes move back over his Morganberry doe, before back to the other man. "And I do believe I've heard of the Hisstor's love of bone. Perhaps this would be the most satisfactory trade for the both of us."
A slow smile crossed his face and he tilted his head gently, awaiting a response from the other male. His fingers traced a small circle along Igni's hip before settling back into his lap.

"We are indeed quite fond of our ornaments," Dorian agreed, entirely unwilling to explain the significance of such things to someone who doubtless didn't care a whit. He felt a strong attachment to his bones. Quite a bit of pride. They were his, by ownership and by familial ties. Especially the bone-hilted dagger.
It would be a terrible shame to lose the little Morganberry. He enjoyed her servitude, the skill of her paws with a brush and the tools designed for little Leverets to use. Very obedient as well. But goodness, did he want the Hisstor-mix. Perhaps he could even encourage her towards being a Doe. Wouldn't that be just lovely?
"Very well. I will agree to trade the Morganberry for your little dear," he said after a breath's hesitation. The light touch of the man to his Doe did not go without notice. Dorian felt a tiny prickling of avarice. "You do seem to have a fondness for the region. Is this lady a favorite of yours, or merely a traveling companion?"

Anubis nodded, and waited. He would not speak and put his foot in his mouth only to lose the trade. It was about time he kicked the male leveret out of his Warren, and he needn't tell the other Jack that he was indeed male. Dorian had never asked, after all. And besides, it was a trade of leverets, and not Does, there was no need to divulge the information.
He smiled lightly, trying not to seem as happy as he was when the Jack finally agreed to the trade. Even if the leveret he got never did grow into a Doe, an obedient leveret would be welcome. Besides, he hadn't even seen the morganberry yet, for all he knew she may not be anything to look at anyways.
"I must admit, I do find myself drawn to them. Morgans have such lovely colours, almost rivalling that of gold itself. Though I suppose the Yarrows come closest. It's just nice to have some colour around the Warren in a place such as Torquehelm."
He paused for a moment, trying to think of how to word his next statement.
"Though, I would not be altogether displeased with a worthy trade for any of my Does."

The man had such a fondness for gold that he would surround himself with women who mimicked it? Well, he must have found Dorian's mane quite a sight, then. The Jack unconsciously preened it while he thought.
All that armor. And it didn't look like he had a weapon that quite went with it, did he, else the Leverets might have let him know that their guest left a great honking blade at the door? He had a fondness for the material himself and had once fancied learning to use a blade longer than his dagger. That had been a passing whim, however, and the absolutely stunning weapon he'd found for the purpose had gone unused ever since his acquisition of the glorious skull.
He brought a tiny bite of food to his lips and considered. "Gold for gold, good sir. Would you consider that a worthy trade? I have an object that could perhaps interest you, were you a fan of swordsmanship rather than some other form of combat." His eyes traveled once more up to the sword, and then back down to Igni. "If the blade met with your approval, and the lady with mine, perhaps we could conclude another transaction tomorrow. Tell me, do you have any sort of aversion to tomatoes, onions, peppers, cucumber, or olives? Those will be featuring primarily in tonight's meal, or so I was told earlier in the day. If you're willing to be a tad bit adventurous, I could lend you a lady for the evening's companionship and become acquainted with your lovely Doe at the same time. Perhaps on the morrow we could speak of further business."
