As usual, he was out in the dead of night... only this time he was wandering the streets of the Capitol. He didn't much care for the capitol, really, but it was so much better at night, less people around. Actually, he didn't see -anyone- out tonight, odd. He still preferred the less traveled paths, alleyways, unoccupied buildings, those sort of places. He had never been and probably never would be any sort of 'social butterfly', and this stemmed beyond just the fact that no one seemed to like him anyhow. He did, however, notice the crispness of the air tonight and had an odd little feeling that he didn't quite understand and it made him fold his ears backward. They didn't stay there for long, however, as he heard a noise, something sounding like someone coming. He backed up a bit making himself as small as he could and peering out into the street, keeping himself quiet and hidden. Whomever it was was out pretty late and, depending on whom they were... Osias might just get some kicks tonight. It wasn't like he really posessed any great morals, so anything was possible... depending on who it was and what they looked like. Yes, even lowlanders had standards. ((sorry tis blah... me brain just wouldn't kick into gear, lol))

Kelasia rarely was out late at night, especially not this late and most especially not on this side of town. She skulked forward, hunched up in her animal form and trying her absolute best to be inconspicuous. Her attempt to find one of the other men on the list of inventors she’d gathered for Minh’s project. And now she was a bit lost in a rather not nice side of town. The woman kept moving, hesitating when she thought she heard someone in front of her a ways. However, there was no repeat to the sound; perhaps she’d just imagined it? The skunk uneasily readjusted her pouch and kept walking.
She was relieved and afraid by the lack of company on the streets tonight. Of course, she wasn’t often out here this late, so perhaps it was normal? Maybe… Too bad it felt unnatural. She came to the area she thought she’d heard something, but still no sign of anyone. She must have imagined it. She wished she was home.

He remained focused on the end of the this little space he was in, it was a gap between two buildings and provided the perfect hiding spot for someone, especially a vermin. His patience was indeed rewarded as the skunk stopped near where he hid, and totally passed him over. He examined her from his spot, taking in the obvious physical attributes first, region, markings, etc, his nose is what really told him that she was, indeed a she. Well, that and after a bit of thinking he'd realized he'd met this one before. She'd been the only one of the three at the library that he hadn't really been cross with.
He waited until she began to move again before carefully picking his way down the little walking space, being more then slightly cautious of making any sort of a sound. As he came to and rounded the corner he made sure to elevate his charm level to a point that made most not totally disgusted by him. He was saving the higher potency should he need it.
He spoke, his voice a little gruff and scruffy, just like the rest of him. He also has a smile, which displayed those yellowed teeth of his as well to follow up his words.
'Ello there, Kelasia was it?

The female continued her uneasy track through the streets, tail tucking tightly against her hindquarters as she fought through her own unease to try and get home. When someone spoke behind her, Kel gave a frightened squeal, leaping in the air and whirling around to see a Lowlander smirking at her. A Diamond as well, and of equal rank, Kel was aware that the rat must be doing something using his charm, but she thought it a wise decision either way. Lowlanders weren’t very well accepted, even really by the neutral Sorgaire Range.
”Oh…ah… hello,” she replied uneasily before she had a sudden flash of who this was. ”Oasis?” she tried; she thought that was it, but it didn’t sound quite right. In any case she just really hoped that she didn’t insult the other Card. It was never her intention to do so; she was too meek to purposefully try and hurt someone else’s feelings.

He figured he'd frighten her a bit more, which is what he had planned on doing really, he kind of got a kick out of that. However, when she remembered his name that smile of his broadened, he was rather pleased indeed that she remembered his name, perhaps every aspiring Queen did, yah? Recognition could , indeed, be the first step to glory, or maybe it was just that it fed his ever growing ego? Either way, she'd made a good impression which would fair her well however things went.
You remember me? I didn't think you would.
He slowly amped up the charm a bit and approached her, trying to be as non-threatening as possible. He also took on a very concerned tone of voice and with the charm in effect, it would be difficult indeed to tell whether it was genuine or just merely a game.
Now, what's a pretty lady such as yourself doing out here all alone, on this side of town? Bad things could certainly happen to you... Would you care for an escort m'dear?

Of course she remembered the rat… he was the only Lowlander she’d ever met face to face and it wasn’t an entirely fond remembrance. Though he hadn’t been too mean or anything, she’d gotten some strange vibes from him. There was a strong likelihood that was based on Mnem and Minh’s reaction to the man; they hadn’t seemed overly fond of him.
She couldn’t disclaim the compliment to her looks even though she didn’t agree with it; the skunk was still terribly lacking in the self esteem department and also was unable to make herself argue with someone she didn’t really know. ”Oh, uhm… I was looking for someone?” It shouldn’t have been a question, but it still came out that way. She’d been searching for hours, though. She was thinking about simply marking the man’s name off her list, but he was supposed to be a leading expert. She gave a small sigh before recalling who she was talking to. She flushed slightly.

He arched a brow at her response, a question? Odd. Surely she would know if she were looking for someone or not, he surely didn't. He wasn't wise to the ways of the meek really, so he was unfamiliar with this sort of speech, but he'd let it slide. It wasn't as if he could really do anything about it, except be quite rude, but he wasn't in the mood to be disagreeable right now... at least not yet. He was quite the fickle beast.
How long ago were you supposed to meet up with this someone? Respectable members of society don't arrange meetings in the dead of night... alone.
And now she was ... blushing? Why ever for? She did, however, seem a bit more at ease in his presence then most did... especially women. It was an odd and curious business for him and he intended to spend a little of his research time on this curious subject...
And about that escort...?
She hadn't answered him at first, but he had to keep cool for this meeting to be beneficial at all...

Fully unaware of his thoughts, the skunk did, however, catch a glimpse of his lofted brow and she blushed again uneasily. In actuality, she wasn’t in the least bit at east in Osias’ presence, but she was so often uncomfortable that it didn’t really make a difference that most found the Lowlander distasteful; she simply didn’t do well in anyone’s presence. Except, perhaps, for Theofilus and Rogers, and she still blushed a great deal in the presence of either of those worthies.
”I-it wasn’t a s-set meeting,” the woman tried to explain, almost irrationally trying to defend the honour of someone Osias hadn’t even heard of yet; it didn’t occur to the Sorgaire Range resident to explain who it was. ”I-I was j-just trying to find him to as-ask some questions.”
An escort? She didn’t want one, but she didn’t know how to refuse. ”Oh… ah… I-I would h-hate to put you out of y-your way…?”

He did, indeed, thrive off of the uncomfortablness of others... and she certainly was an uncomfortable individual, wasn't she? He moved toward her, giving her a winning smile, or, rather, the best he could do for being a yellow toothed Lowland Rat. But that was what all that extra charm was for, wasn't it?
You shan't be putting me out of my way, and I've seen some rather shady individuals out tonight. I'd hate for one of them to stumble upon you.
In all actuality, he'd seen no one else that night, but he wanted this one's company for a bit longer this eve. There were many things he could do that would be beneficial, and quite fun really... but in the middle of the street? No, not quite his thing. You never knew when some little do gooder would come and ruin all your fun.
Lead the way, m'dear.

The skunk hesitated for several long moments before she gave a small nod and uneasily took the lead. Her steps were a bit slow, especially at first as she was still rather lost. Finding the man on her list hadn’t worked and she was beginning to think that finding her way back home didn’t have much better chance of success
She looked one way then the other uneasily, mind caught up on his words about shady individuals and her own discomfort at the odd man following her home. Assuming, of course, she could figure out exactly how to get there! She hesitated at a street corner, peering upwards to hopefully find a useful sign or some landmark. But she’d gotten so turned around that afternoon! How exactly was she supposed to get back to the better side of town?
”Ah…” she said hesitantly and softly. ”I’m… not… certain I remember how to get… back…”
