((OOC: This is probably a good month or two (no more then three) into his preggers X3))It was later in the evening and the current Queen sat in his personal office going over small details with Anoushka about the running of the Court or whatever it was that seemed to mesh in his mind of endless questions and decisions. The red mouse gave a long sigh. He was really starting to hate this being pregnant business. His whole body seemed to ache, especially his back and he was starting to get another headache. He was half tempted pull of a bottle of wine and just drink till he passed out . . . but unfortunately he was not the kind of person who would harm a child like that. Blast it. Rubbing his neck to help ease some of the tension, he winced as his hand rubbed along the acid scars as well. At least that bastard was where he belonged. Unfortunately more of him then the mouse would ever want might be growing inside him. At least the parasite was not showing yet and the mouse was more then hoping it would stay that way. Other than Whip, he had been exceedingly careful about making sure that no one knew about his being pregnant. Realizing he had not heard anything the female had been saying for the last few minutes he gave an irritated sigh before glancing up for the paper his attention just could not seem to focus on. “I am sorry Anoushka . . . wot were you saying?”

The wolf eyed her Queen for a good, long moment before sighing herself and hopping up to sit on the side of his desk. "My Qveen, did you hear any of that? Anything at all? It vas rather significant to the next item ve need to discuss as vell."Anoushka ran one hand unhappily along the fur of her thigh. Were the mouse anything else, she would have already taken up a position as his lapdog and been comfortably sprawled across him for the duration of most of these meetings. As it was, however, she gamely stood and shuffled one or two things out of the pile she'd put them in to bring out again. "I vas speaking on the position of the... are you sure you're feeling vell?"From the way he rubbed his neck, he looked like he had a headache. He'd been having a lot of those recently and she couldn't help but worry it was a result of the battle in which he'd won the throne, a side-effect of some kind.

He glanced to the side of his desk where she had come to perch. He did not mind her nearness, and since the start of this ‘infection’ he had noticed he liked people to be around him. Maybe it was the body heat? He did not really know or care.
“I have another one of those bloody headaches starting up.” He grumbled not particularly of the pain, loss of concentration, or the queasiness that was starting up in his stomach. He was so glad beyond words that the bloody morning sickness had passed but every now and then he would still feel queasy.
How he could not wait for this unwanted trial to be over.
“I seem to not be getting a good night sleep either,” he confided for reasons unknown to him. He would admit that the female was not the top person of his favorites list but he did trust her. “You would think with such comfortable beds, the best money could afford . . . “ He gave a slightly bitter laugh.

Anoushka tilted her head to regard the mouse. He did indeed look tired, exhausted even, more so than usual. It made her wonder if he was catching some sort of illness that would affect his sleep and his head. He might need to go see the doctor again to stave anything off.
"The beds in the Qveens' apartments are indeed superior," she agreed thoughtfully. Dark knew she'd slept in them often enough in years past. "I vould guess that it vas something else disturbing your slumber, my Qveen. Have you been to the doctor of late? Perhaps your injuries are not healing as vell as they should. That is alvays a possibility - do not overestimate your body's resources in terms of healing."
Her tongue fiddled with one of her teeth that was threatening to become loose, something that irritated her to no end. At least it wasn't one of her fangs. That would have made her kill things. "I vould not vant to see you flat out like before, Aderlass," she said seriously. "If you are becoming ill, treating it fast and throughly vould be extremely important."

He gave his forehead a few rubs, in a vain attempt to get rid of the headache, something that had not worked in the past and did not really surprise him this time either
“I already went by the doctor. Said it was nothing that would not kill me,” he added the word ‘hopefully’ in his mind, “not much they could do for it but let it run its course.”
He did trust the female but he was not about to admit outright to her that he had someone how managed to land himself as being a mother. He would just bet she would be amused by the fact and it was a small humiliation he just could not deal with.
“If it helps to put you at ease I will go again later this evening to get checked out again. Maybe they can give me something for these headaches.” The last time he had gone they had mentioned that drinking a few various teas would help to ease them; however, he hated tea and so was trying to avoid them at all costs. But with at the rate the headaches were coming he just might not be stubborn enough to not drink them.
“I am not silly enough to go and try and get myself killed, I worked to hard to get here, a simple cold or whatever this is, is not going to take me down.”

Anoushka watched him, then allowed her concerns to smooth out. If he was ill and had been to the doctor, likely their opinion was a good one. After all, hadn't he just been in bed for so very long before and survived it? It probably wasn't helping things though, letting other illnesses pick away at him as he tried to recover. That was how those things often worked.
"If it does not inconvenience your schedule, I vould be happy to see you checked out vonce more, even if only to be given medicines. The less time you have to deal vith this illness, the better in general. You vill have enough vork ahead of you to make a healthy man's head ache, much less von under the veather. And, of course, I vill be by your side for all of it. Vhat vould you do vithout me?"
The question was amused and rhetorical. Many of the Queens she'd served under had appreciated her advice and experience, in one sense if not in others, and she certainly knew her job better than most. Unlike that fat lump of a cat, she took her duties seriously, and unlike the gorgeous man with the bones, she did not shirk them.

“The less time does, indeed, sound better.” he mumbled aloud.
There was already a lot of work that he had to do day-to-day, not to say that he had not expected it before challenging the old Queen, but that did not stop him from complaining about it. Someone worthwhile needed to become one of his Queens soon; he could not help but look forward to the day where someone else could help him with the concerns and runnings of his Court.
He chuckled at her comment, “It is pleasure to my ears to hear that you will be by my side through it all, trust me,” it was indeed reassuring in more ways then she currently knew. “I honestly have no clue as to wot I would do without you here. It is a great pleasure to have you as one of my Kings.” He really was grateful for all of her assistance. He was not sure if he would ever be able to find anyone who came close to her abilities and thus was sure that he did not to lose her.
Suddenly feeling restless he stood up in attempt to take a stroll around the room, however as he came to his feet a wave of dizziness hit him. Uttering a choice curse or two he gripped the edge of the desk to keep himself grounded.

The compliment both startled and pleased Anoushka, causing her to change her pose from 'lounging' to 'preening'. Pretty much all that meant was more of an arch to her back and a wider grin. "And aren't you just a dear. It's alvays nice for a voman to be told that she's appreciated."
Her expression faded slightly when she saw him grip at the desk after standing up and her brows narrowed, one hand coming up to carefully rest on his shoulder. "Aderlass, this seems more serious than a cold. You may vish to rethink your schedule and take time to lay down. If you are as ill as you seem, rest and sleep vill be the best alternatives."
No, she didn't like how he was looking. The mouse never let weakness through, and something so blatantly obvious as grasping at his desk... she wasn't sure whether to be pleased that he let her see it, or just worried that it happened at all.

He registered her hand on his shoulder, a comforting weight. He wanted to laugh as that idea crossed his mind but resisted the urge due to the headache. He had never thought there would be a day when he would find himself comfortable with her company.
Closing his eyes he simply concentrated on making the world stop spinning. After a few quick minutes the feeling went away, as it always did, and he stood up straight, giving a stretch to let loose some of the tension in his back. He was not about to outright tell her that it was more serious then a simple cold, instead he replied, “Do not worry too much. The dizzy spells are becoming less common; thank the suits, and the morning spells seem to have finally stopped. I thought it would never end.” he muttered the last sentence to himself.
As he gave another stretch this time popping his back and neck, he thought over her comment. Did he even have time to take a break? It seemed that every waking hour, well those after ten, were spent dealing with people or issues. However, a nap did indeed sound like a very good idea and this headache was probably not going to let up any time soon.

Morning dizzy spells. Morning illness. Morning... sickness?
The canine's mind went blank from the sheer hilarity of that thought and she leaned against the desk once again, trying to make it go away. As entertaining as the thought was, it was equally unlikely. Aderlass wouldn't be suffering from morning sickness.
...would he?
She eyed the mouse and nodded, saying nothing for a moment. "Vell, I von't vorry if that is your vish. I do think you should go and take a rest, though. Don't let the vork veigh on your mind - I vill make sure things go smoothly vhile you rest. There is nothing overly pressing on the agenda for today and I should be able to handle things for two or three hours, enough time for a snooze at least. I think you need it."
And why wouldn't that ridiculous idea leave her head? The mouse, pregnant... surely not. It was merely an unfortunate turn of phrase. Still. Some part of her mind couldn't stop cackling hysterically at the thought.
