Thank everything for his mate's healing ability...Finistris watched as the Corvies gave small, shocked mutters, taking that as a sign it was working, along with the creases of concentration on his Rat's face.
The slack in adrenaline finally allowing him to take in the injury his Osias had unwittingly wreaked on his proffered hand. He let out a small yelp and a string of curses before bothering to actually glance down at the appendage...the smallest finger was most certainly broken and there were four nice puncture wounds...delightful.
He stuck the offending injury out to the half Lizard Corvie and was gratified to have some gauze and two taping sticks shoved at him. "Rot for brains or no...you'd better be." Finistris muttered, wrapping his hand busily and leaning in for a quick kiss from his mate. "You mean the world to me, Osias."
After rubbing his face gently on the fur, half out of sentimentality and half to smudge off the tears, he backed off. Public displays of affection were not his Rat's favorite, and now that he'd ascertained Osias was as alright as he could be, he would bow to that preference. "The last one's a pure Rat." He commented lightly as he stood, trying to suppress the smile. "Thought you ought to know."
He then moved over to the Corvies as they finished and snagged the smaller of the two, hissing a dire threat into his ear for pain medication and their departure. He then turned to the Lizard mix and grinned, reaching into his pocket and drawing out the majority of the money he currently possessed. "Here you are, then. I thank you, quite sincerely, from the bottom of my heart." He murmured, handing it to the man along with a small parcel that tingled and caused the air around it to crackle lightly.
The Corvie took it with a grin and an eyeroll. "Heh, I'd be touched iffin' I though you 'ad an heart, Fin. Good doin' business with yeh anyway. Even if I hate your damn ugly Rat-faced mate. Keep in touch, I'll drop by t' check on th' kiddies in a few weeks, right?"
Finistris nodded, ruefully as the other Corvie passed him a small bottle and gazed longingly at the package handed to his superior. "Right you are, stay well, the pair of you." So saying, he chuffed them out, passing Morpheus and making sure both were locked securely out of the house before turning to his son with an abnormally bright smile.
"As soon as he's asleep, I'll come and get you, son. Wait until you see them, they're beautiful! Hell, you're going to love them, one can already talk!" He laughed, turned, and strode back in to make sure his Osias had everything he needed.

He watched the Corvies with a look that was a combination of suspicion and agitation .... he wanted the gone .... he could fix himself faster then they could do a damn thing ... they had no reason to be here any longer. So focused was he on them, and his power working properly, that the brushed touch of his mate made him jump, the softest of squeaks escaping him..... embarrassing to say the least. But the gesture was returned and got an ear flick as well... suits did he love to hear things like that.
And .... pure rat? He could definitely like that one, even if he hadn't seen them in all their strangeness. That wouldn't really be an issue.... not with them all being fairly in tack and entirely diamonds and Spades ... no clubs, no Aces ....
He let out a bit of a hiss at the mixed Corvie, his thoughts interrupted with anger again.... damn it all he hated that thing. Clawed fingertips dug into the handful of sheets he'd ended up grasping and his tail twitched a bit as well. He kept his voice low and his eyes narrowed.....
I'll get you one of these days.... I swear it.
But his grip loosened and he had to relax himself, he was far to tired to stay tense and angry. .... damn it all. When he was better there would be retaliation ... oh yes .. .he'd get that damn lizard thing back. but first... .rest. Rest sounded amazing and when Finistris stepped out he wouldn't be able to keep himself awake any longer.
He glanced over to where he could hear the new children and his eyes drifted closed, he'd get more then a glance later ... just .... so very tired.
Morpheus has been waiting as patiently as possible for someone to come out and give him any sort of news .... it wasn't' as if he'd ever gotten siblings or anything before .... and his father's excitement was almost infectious. When the man and the corvies came out his ears perked, but he stayed quiet for once in his life and nodded ... he'd wait ... even if he didn't -want- to.
He didn't want ot deal with Mother unti lhe was feeling more .... himself.

((Assuming about three months have passed.))
Finistris was loving life. Granted, he hadn't been out on the prowl in about four months, but what did that matter? His mate and new children were honestly providing enough entertainment for the time being.
The man stretched and lounged against the counter, waiting for the meat in the pan to brown a bit more before he added the chopped vegetables. Hopefully, Morpheus would return soon and he could crack some eggs into it to get some extra protein to the kids. Poor Boston and Malachite needed it badly, their twin brains giving them quite the metabolism, they burned fat almost as quickly as they ate it, and they were starting to look slightly unhealthy for it.
He stirred the cooking mass idly and hummed a little under his breath. At least all of the children were healthy. Bones, as he had been calling the Rat child as a nickname until a suitable one was found, had looked pretty poorly until a local magician had been "persuaded" to assist the poor thing. A small charm against bacterial infection, and a fake base to his lower jaw, and the child was doing splendidly!
All in all, quite the relief. Even if every doctors visit nearly ended in exchanged blows between McKay and his Osias. Damn, if the Lizard mix wasn't begging for it each time, but he really needed the man alive, he was as reliable as he was irritating; however much he wanted to see his mate fulfilled by the Corvie's death.
"Squeak?" Came the familiar and rather plaintive question from the far corner of the room as Bones trotted in, his baby fat causing his haunches to roll a bit as he scuttled across the kitchen floor to his father's feet. "Squeak."
Finistris gave the boy a quick grin and scooped him up. "Everything going well, m'boy?" He asked, letting the little Rat ferret for a treat in his apron pocket. "Squeak." "Good to know, let's see if Boston can't help me with this, eh?"
Leaving the meat to simmer, he moved into the other room where the rest of the children had been playing, the small boy tucked under his arm. "Boston? Things going alright in here?" He asked upon entry, wondering if Osias was awake yet and thinking of pestering him if he wasn't. "Squeak." Chimed Bones.

The other three were keeping themselves entertained in the other room, well ... Sarahi and Malachite more so then Boston. Sarahi was laying on her belly batting gently at Itsy as he scuttled back and forth, her clawed hand missing the blue and white spider each time. She'd accidentally knocked a leg off the spider once by being too rough and that was all it took to cement the idea of 'careful' in her mind ... Itsy was special and she didn't want to hurt her little friend again.
Malachite on the other hand, was watching the spider's movements intently, his eyes focused and his little pointy ears perked. His whiskers twitched ever so slightly as it got harder and harder to simply watch the little creature move and not be caught .... he could do better then that! The fact that his sister wasn't trying to catch the little arachnid never occurred to him and he swatted at it with a paw. He missed and simply would have resorted to pouting had his sibling not taken offense and smacked him square on the nose.
Orange eyes widened at the smack and his ears went back, a little whimper escaping his maw, which was directly followed by a sigh from his brother. Boston simply activated his flight ability for a moment, just long enough to pick himself up and move forward about a foot, Malachite was terribly easy to drag and the sudden movement still surprised him enough to keep him from getting upset. He hated when any of his siblings cried ... it was far beyond annoying.
Malachite peered quizzically back at his brother, who was also looking at him. Boston then spoke in a tone that was a little more annoyed then usual, no sugar coating anything for this one.
She's warned you before, just leave the little thing alone.
He peered over at their father and sighed again, not hiding his discontentment in the least.
It was, but Chite never learns.
Osias was quite content to stay asleep, or at least he was -while- he still was. He was still sleeping more then he used to, and secretly enjoyed little extra bit of energy it gave him ... but he felt like he was wasting his day when he slept for too long. Sleep and the Rat had a love hate relationship to say the least.

The Hisstor couldn't quite hide his smile when he walked into the room and saw his progeny playing, Bones trotting pudgily behind him to nuzzle Boston on the head, their skulls making a light clicking noise as they connected. Boston was Bones's favorite person. Aside from Papa.
He swallowed a chuckle at Boston's world-weary sigh and headed over to the pair. "Now, Chite, you listen to your brother. He's a bright young man and he knows how to keep you out of trouble, you hear?" He administered a slightly painful ear-tweak to the boy when he looked back at the spider, and gave him a disapproving glare. It figured that the "bad" child of the bunch would be the one who looked like his other half, wouldn't it?
The thought left a bad taste in his mouth.
"We'll see if that keeps him from bothering Sarahi and her Itsy for a bit. Would you mind keeping an eye on Bones for a few minutes too, Boston? I'm just going to check on your mother."
Standing before the boy could protest too heartily, he made his way through the room, reaching down to give his beautiful daughter a light scritch under the chin before checking Osias's door. Upon finding the Rat asleep for once, he slid back out and closed it more firmly than it had been before. Having Bones sneak in and wake the Rat again would just be a pain.
"Morpheus?" He called down the hall. "No chance of you helping with dinner, is there?"

Boston liked Bones as well, the little ratling was quiet and generally kept out of trouble. Sarahi was alright, she was just a little stubborn and, well... she had the advantage of standing on two legs and being able to reach things higher then the rest of them. Malachite annoyed him, but in all honesty he was his favorite sibling. He got himself in trouble by trying to figure things out himself. Yes, it was agitating and he didn't seem to learn things incredibly fast, but it was a pursuit of knowledge that he had to respect. Well, when he was old enough he'd just have to tutor his brother himself. Maybe, just maybe, he could up the boy's intelligence points a bit. They were attached for life after all, might as well be able to have an intelligent conversation someday.
Malachite squeaked at the ear pinch, pulling his ears back and flashing father his cutest hurt expression, trembling bottom lip included. That ... hurt and, well, he hadn't done anything too bad. Sarahi on the other hand, she'd hit him! Why didn't she get any scolding? That wasn't fair at all, but he'd learned whining didn't do anything ... especially with Osias. In fact, he didn't even make this face for the rat ... it just made things worse.
Boston nodded acceptance to his father and peered at Bones for a moment ... why did the little bugger have to be so bloody cute?
Osias would still be asleep when finistris entered the room, it wasn't particularly good sleep from the looks of his twitching, but it was sleep none the less.
Morpheus was down the hall trying to do something productive with his appearance. He hadn't been sleeping well as of late and it showed ... and it agitated him.
Give me a minute, I'll be out.
Ugh, he definitely couldn't go out in public like this. Hell, he didn't even want to be around his family like this. His looks were definitely a sensitive subject to him but maybe, just maybe, his father could help him figure this little situation out. It killed him to ask for help but ... he'd have to. This was affecting him more then he thought it would.
He made his way down the hall, leaving his clothes hung up in his room and his hair pulled back in a simple ponytail ... why waste the energy in looking snazzy when it would simply fall flat? And, besides ... he was helping cook, that got messy sometimes anyway. He waited for his father to return to the kitchen and, after figuring out what they were having, started pulling the necessary tools from the cupboards. He'd leave spice gathering to fin, he knew what he was doing.
I've got .... a problem. I think you might .... be able to help.
And, yes, he wasted no time getting to his issue. He wanted it solved so he could some much needed beauty sleep.
[[ guess what? we made it past 101 <3]]

Finistris's grin faded slightly at his son's halting tone.
"What's the matter?" He asked, cautiously. His first-born lived a...hectic lifestyle...anything could be the matter. When his son finally emerged from his room, Finistris had to acknowledge that the boy looked...well, like he had wilted, almost.
Forgetting about dinner for a moment, he reached out to touch his son's shoulder. "Morpheus...this isn't like you. What's happened?" Ever since they had invaded Morpheus's home Finistris had felt a little guilty for not giving his son the full privacy he had once enjoyed...no, actually, they had taken away a good amount of it by having more children.
"Tell me, I'm all ears."

At the touch on his shoulder his tail twitched a bit. He felt a little meladramatic worrying over this, but it was concerning none the less. The source of his concern, however, had decided to et pissed off over the whole matter and retreat into complete and utter silence for a bit. But he could still pick up on the neative vibes there, no doubt it ... she? was angry. He wasn't sure what he was suppossed to consider it since, on occassion, he was able to summon it forth on the 'outside'.
I think ... I might be losing it.
He cut right to the chase and tapped his forehead as emphasis of crazy without havign to verbally admit he thought he was two steps away from the loony bin.
Well, one to be truthful. And I see her, she creeps into my dreams. She? likes you guys though. Doesn't have much to say about anyone but clubs and... well, Hearts.
His tail twitched a bit more as he pondered about mentioning that he could summon said voice in his head but decided to wait and see what his father might have to say in the matter. He wanted more then anyhting just ot hear that he wasn't losing his mind ... stark raving mad just might ruin his 'reputation'.

"Now, my boy...you can't really be "losing it", it's just hectic around here." Finistris tried to soother his son's ruffled appearance, only to be shaken gently off and given a steady unwavering look. His son's apparent distress was unfamiliar enough to him, that he shut his mouth and listened as the boy continued. Watching his semi-helpless gestures...as it became clear that poor Morpheus was under the impression he was about to be ridiculed. Far from it. What the boy had just described was eerily similar to how he and his other half had come to be. "I don't disbelieve you, can you tell me more, son?" He asked, voice slightly tremulous. Could he have inadvertently passed the condition on? If so, he needed to help condition the two to be friends...the last thing he wanted for his son was a repeat performance like the one he had experienced. ~Nathalia

Hectic wasn't anything new to him, his entire life was like that in one sense or another ... the house was just a bit more crowded then usual, that was all. Not that he minded so much anymore since the newer siblings were quieter then they had been.
He nodded and continued, feeling the edge of agitation starting to dissipate from wherever his 'visitor' had skulked off to in his consciousness. He started with how he'd never really noticed anything til he'd gotten 'out', and at that point just thought it was a normal part of being in a different plane. There wasn't any voice just a little tingle of something there, minute enough that he'd forgotten about it after awhile. The next bit he paused for a moment and twitched his tail, not entirely certain if he should talk about this or not but, suits.... he really didn't intend on being in some big battle to the death with his own father so... why not?
He went into detail about his Queen's ability and how it had evolved, how he could actually summon something shadowy from when he departed from someone else's head, It might be useful information. And then how the creature sounded and that it liked to call him by the title of 'Master' (something she still did, only more recognizable now that she had a voice, voice.)
And then earlier this week she came to me in my sleep. I thought I was dreaming, but that idea was promptly dismissed when she started talking to me more while I was awake. She's more.... distinct now... in words and form ... Weasel biped from what I can see.
And with his rather long explanation out of the way he stopped to catch his breath a bit. He couldn't think of anythign else that might be useful in diagnosing his little... problem.
