The rat chuckled softly at his mate's teasing, although he'd make no disagreement. The boy did come from rather fine lines, at least by his standards anyhow. And he'd smiled as well, he enjoyed the other's man's smile. At first it had been somewhat off to him, but he'd gotten used to it by now. It was just something that was undeniably Finistris and thus it should be loved and accepted. However, at his neck comment the rat's own grin grew a little more broad, his own tone taking up that teasing hint although it wasn't entirely meant jokingly.
That's what happens when you're treated as you deserve.
As the rubbing behind his ear grew a bit more rough, he leaned into it more and closed his eyes. He was not only enjoying the positive attention, but he was also enjoying being as close to Finistris as he was. He enjoyed his scent and, well, just the feel of him against himself. All in all he was presently a rather happy vermin.
When Fin spoke again he opened one eye and peered at the other man for a moment, pondering. He continued to think even as he tilted his head to the other side, exposing more of his neck for those delightful rings to travel over. Family? Yes, he had family although he truly doubted that would be any help and well, friends weren't really an option... were they?
He does have family, but I don't think the boy values any of them really. Although with a mother like he has, I can certainly see why he wouldn't.
Oh yes, he'd seen the kahmden ferret out and about several times but had never actually spoken to her, nor her him. He was perfectly fine with that, he didn't particularly want to encounter that women... she'd definitely try his patience far to much.
And I've never really the boy with anyone besides Morpheus often, I think that might be the only friend he has.
He wasn't entirely sure how he'd feel if Finistris made any mention of using their own son as some sort of pawn either, but then again it might depend on what exactly the plan was. He'd rather just leave the boy out of it really. He didn't mind the friendship the two seemed to have, it kept Morpheus happy and out of his hair, but he certainly wasn't above using the young ferret for his own happiness, and that of his mate's though. In fact, he rather liked that idea.

Finistris could feel the rumble of the chuckle in his mate's chest, he ran a finger down the ribcage and smiled wanly.
"Yes, yes it is, isn't it? Good thing I treat you well, my Osias..."
He felt the weight of the Rat's head as he moved into the caresses and dug in a little harder, listening to Osias breathe...this was delightful...the things Clan brought you. He would never have guessed that love was such a wonderful thing.
"Doesn't value his family? Shame, that...we'll just have to find other ways to persuade him...I'll talk to my other half and see if he can spout off anything casual to suit my purposes...if he is through being a monster of a fool."
He said with a sneer...though he couldn't quite understand how one could care so little for their family...how so many of those outside seemed to...
He propped himself up slightly so that he could better reach Osias's face without forcing the Rat to bend his neck at an awkward angle and pressed his face up under the other's chin.
"When I am outside....shall we remain in the place where you are...or shall we go elsewhere?"

finistris was right and he loved every moment he spent with the man. He never actually thought he'd find someone who would cause such a drastic change in his personality, even if it was only with them. It was unexpected, but he wouldn't trade for the world. He was happy, and he enjoyed the feeling.... the whole thing was really quite a rush.
And it does not go unnoticed ... or unappreciated.
As the attention got a bit rougher still, he let a soft, contented sigh escape him. If the other man continued to do that for much longer and ceased speaking, or only spoke softly, he very well could put the rat to sleep. While enjoyable it was also terribly calming.
Yes, it is quite a shame and.... monster of a fool you say?
Perhaps he was just strange for a lowlander, but he cherished what he had left of his family just as much as he did the newer members of it, those being Finistris and Morpheus of course. Even if the ties he had to the lowlands were strange and painful, they were still there and he loved them none the less.
And the last comment, well, that had just piqued his interest. Varestes was still a bit of a mystery to him. Outside of their meeting he didn't see him much really, which he truly didn't mind. But... he wouldn't mind knowing a bit more.... even if it was dirt.
When Finistris shifted a bit he did as well, but only to put and arm around him and draw him a bit closer, twitching his tail in delight. The question caught him a bit off guard at first, but it didn't take a lot of thinking really.
It matters not to me, it is pleasant where I am but.... with you with me I can't imagine anywhere being unpleasant. If you didn't wish to stay, well, I'd be willing to go anywhere.
He really didn't think Finistris would want to stay in the court of spades, not with Varestes around anyhow. He assumed their parting would be very similar to his and Mo's, and they both were certainly still alive and well. But really, where might they go? There were so many places he hadn't been to....

Finistris was thinking along the same lines...he'd never felt the need to go out of his way for Varestes...and the people who invaded his other half's mind were usually there for him to torment...this was such a new feeling. He wouldn't trade it, even for his freedom.
"A monster of a fool, yes I think it's fitting. He has no sens and he barely keeps up with the work assigned to him through his Queen. All he can ever seem to manage is to sigh and mourn the fact that his intended Clan has no feelings for him."
Finistris snorted in slight disgust, continuing to rub behind his mate's ears.
"It kills him and he won't just drop the fool and find a real Clan. He's become the most paranoid imbecile I've seen in quite awhile...and that's saying something considering some of the pretentious Cards he's sent my way to be tested.."
He considered the Rat's answer, delighted that Osias had admitted to being amicable to go anywhere...that Finistris wanted to go. Perfect, perhaps when he got out they could travel to the Wastes...he'd always wanted to go...
"We would have to see...I'm not certain where people of our...talents might end up."

He moved his hand up and under Finistris' hair, stretching his fingers just so so that he wouldn't cut him with his claws, and venturedto rub the back of the man's neck with only a mild amount of roughness as he listened. After that snort, which made his ears twitch a moment, his other hand sought out the other man's free hand in an attempt to lace his furred, bony digits with his lover's pale slender one's.
Fool indeed, it's much more rewarding when they come to you unexpectedly.
There were only two places he wouldn't go, and one would be so obvious it wasn't even funny, the other beign the Court of Hearts. But really, why would his mate want ot go there anyhow? His answer, however, brought a thought to the rat's mind.
If all else fails, as I'd really rather not go back, the Lowlands would be more then welcoming. Not exactly the most scenic of places, but you'd certainly win some awe by merely having your human form. I hold a bit of sway there, especially from those who remember what an outright fool of a Six I was.
He meant what he said as it being a last choice, the Lowlands really werent' a comfortable place for him in the lest, even if he did drop by occassionally. He only visited cause he'd promised and, as he'd told Finistris, he never broke his promises.
[[w00t, 6 more points til he's got enough for his human form XD]]

Finistris gave a small sigh as the Rat massaged at the back of his neck...oh that he appreciated...he had been so tense when he arrived...
"Thank you, Osias...and yes...it certainly has been much more of a rewarding experience to find than to have to chase, I must agree. My other half is a fool, pure and simple, the Highlander will never want him."
The Human finished the statement with a smirk of dry humor.
"I'd rather not go to the Lowlands from what I've heard of them, but it's nice to know that it is somewhere we could go. No...I'd rather see the Wastes...or perhaps we could venture to Esterberry...I've always been interested in seeing why the people of that realm seem to consider themselves so intelligent...I wonder if they would be able to catch onto the results of a strain of...unfortunate accidents... Their thought processes would amuse me..."
He leaned into his mate's broad Bipeal chest and sighed with contentment.

Oh, so he liked the massage? He'd been somewhat unsure at first, but continued. He worked his way down the other man's slender neck and then down between his shoulder blades. He wanted to wash away all of that tension that still clung to the man's muscles even as his body it's self relaxed, and his mind to.... or so Osias hoped. He couldn't undo what Varestes did to him, but he could make the man feel better, and that's precisely what he intended to do.
Feh.... Highlanders.
He was horribly biased against Highlanders, he just... couldn't stand them. In fact, he had a hard time even faking civility with them anymore, not like he ever needed to try anyhow. He hadn't meant it to, but said contempt had made it's way fully into those two words.
But that was all forgotten as he began to describe the places he'd want to go. He'd never been to either, so they intrigued him and his ears noticeably perked.
I don't either, but it's an option. I've never been to the Wastes or Esterberry .... I, sadly, don't know much about them either. I've heard rumors of the Wastes, but I'm sure they're got as much truth to them as that one going around that touching a lowlander curses your family with foul luck and health.
He rolled his eyes at that, seriously, your luck was your own and simply touching some downtrodden card was not going to affect it any, same as your health. Well, your health, possibly, if said lowlander were dead and rotting but the same went for any rotting corpse really.
Care to enlighten my further?
When his lover leaned into his chest he ceased the massage to trace his claws over his back and in a soothing manner, enjoying the closeness to the highest degree.
[[ Actually... he's got nearly 80 now{thank you intelligent conversation about politics}, and dear gods... brainstorming with Lauryn gave me fun ideas XD ]]

"I know...detestable aren't they? I'm not fond of their looks and from what I've seen of them when my other half skulks around over around the Hearts Court...they're all nothing but pompous, arrogant, warts... They barely deserve any attention, much less what they receive. Can you believe he's after their King?"
He said with a scoff and a deep chuckle.
"The fool's out of his wits, the man will never take to him, no matter how often he tries to force himself.."
He settled himself a little more comfortably and nuzzled his mate's face while stroking at his chest.
"The Wastes would be good to visit sometime, for me...I would like to see the place that spawned the idea of me so persistently... And I had wagered that there was little truth to those statements...You have certainly brought me nothing short of good fortune, my Osias..."
He murmured, a half grin lighting up on the side of his face.
"Care to enlighten you? You wouldn't find it fascinating to watch their thought process? Those of Esterberry are rumored to be some of the most analytical and intelligent that this earth has to offer...imagine killing selectively...in quite the manner of ways...watching as they tried to wrap their minds around what could be happening...as they desperately sought reason..."
His voice trailed off in a whisper and the look in his eye was reminiscent of when he had asked Osias to fight his own father...he would delight in such an excursion...watching them try...

Ambitious, but it's a fool's ambition none the less.
A smile touched his muzzle again, he couldn't help it. When this man laughed it just made him terribly happy and he saw no reason to not display such a thing. His leg was begging to fall asleep though and as much as he didn't want to, especially since his mate had just made himself more comfortable, he had to shift a bit. Still listening, evident by the subtle twitches of his forward ears, he gripped the man's form with an arm and carefully shifted more on his side then sitting. The other arm bent and held up his other half and he rested his head on his hand.
Certainly such a place would prove to be delightful in one way or another.
He chuckled lightly at the bit of praise, his tone once again adopting a humorous tint to it, more so then before. This was meant to be a joke.
Well, you know, my name means Salvation, perhaps there's something to it?
Oh, it seemed Finistris had taken his query the wrong way, well, it mattered not to him. The result was, quite possibly, better then if he would have noticed that Osias merely wondered about the areas themselves. He had no doubts in his mind as to how much fun it would be to wreak havoc on a land that tried to put reason into a place reason didn't exist. He was about to correct him until that very particular look appeared in the other's blue eyes. He knew that look, he simply loved it above all others and it caused his fur to bristle slightly in delight. That tail of his would also curl possessively around whatever part of Finistris' leg that it was nearest, but he was otherwise silent and smirking.

"Truer words never spoken..." Finistris admitted grudgingly, the half-smile remaining as he shrugged and shifted so that Osias could move himself with a bit more ease, resettling one his mate was more comfortable.
"I can only assume that it would be, I have hoped to go there for such a long time, my other half and I were, of course, as children... But I wasn't there for most of his childhood, and shortly after I came to exist he left for the Courts...I wish to experience it for myself."
He gave a short, dark laugh at the next statement his Osias made.
"Does it really? How appropriate, my salvation in this minature hell certainly...you've opened my eyes to how penned up I've been. So in a way..." He looked up into the Rat's eyes, his own flashing. "My salvation and my most horrid torture, you are..."
He grinned a little, showing his long canines for a second before letting the expression drop, fingers still moving in his mate's fur, roughly. The tail that curled around his leg was most welcome and he moved a bit more into the Rats' body and posture as the tail snaked upward.
