Conway had been informed of Javaid's fear. Not to mention the fact that it was painfully obvious the more he stayed with the Jackal. Of course he didn't know the extent of the fear, but he could only assume that it awful from the information Mehdi had told him.
Staying in one place was a strange idea for Conway. Though he thought it would be rather nice, it was too dangerous. Javaid was the exact opposite. The outside was too dangerous for him.... and Conway realized that his hand might reinforce that point. Smooth.
"Yeah but, I'm sure he'd like a visit from you every now and again, right?" Conway sounded mildly cheerful with that statement, though the fact that he was tired seeped into his voice. He took a long swig of the juice as he made himself a bit more comfortable and switching for food once again.

Javaid bit his lip slightly, trying to hide just how awkward this conversation was for him by taking a bit of tea cake and chasing it with a long sip of juice. Conway, of course, was right. Mehdi would be terribly happy to see Javaid though more out of the fact that Javaid had struggled through his agoraphobia long enough to reach him than by the fact that he was there for a visit.
A faint hint of blush reached his cheeks. Did Conway know? A nagging feeling suggested that he did. "I'm sure he would." He twirled the liquid in his drink slowly, peering into the amber fluid as he tried to avoid Conway's gaze. Would the Joker think less of him for his anxieties? Had Mehdi - for Javaid could only assume it was the cat who had let this not-so-secret secret slip - explained why he was the way he was? "...It has been a terribly long time since I've gone out."
Slowly he glanced up at Conway, his expression a little hesitant. "Would you like to go? I Maybe... uhm... with company it wouldn't be so bad?" That sounded so much worse than Javaid had hoped for and his anxiety was so obvious it smacked him in the face.

This was....awkward.
Conway shifted uncomfortably as he nibbled on his food. He didn't meant to make Javaid feel so awkward but he was just thinking about the man's health. After all he just wanted the best for his family members. That was why June was where she was and why he never visited his uncle. June needed proper medical attention and his Uncle needed to be alone all the time. Javaid could use some company and... it would be nice to get away.
"Yeah I uh... guess I could visit too," Conway said. He waved his paw again. "Will he have a negative reaction to a human with a paw? I can always visit him in my bipedal form as long as I remember what suit and rank I visit him as."
Sometimes he forgot. Which made things awkward. Normally by some grace of amazing luck he managed to keep things straight in his head. What suit did the feline even think he was? Probably not a diamond, he never really had anything charismatic about him.

"Mehdi being Mehdi... I don't think so. His Family's occupation is dealing in helping people suffering from magical mishaps -- curses, strange items, possession." Javaid shrugged. "That was why I suggested he come over to help practice with your communication problem, it's hard to surprise him and even harder to make him uncomfortable."
Taking a deep breath, Javaid pushed down the lest tendrils of his nerves and decided that he would deal with them when they crossed that bridge. Right now, Conway was here and he was much more important than awkwardly worrying about the future. "Thank you, by the way..." He blushed softly but offered the wolf a small smile. "I haven't been out in a while and uhm... it's a big step for me so, I appreciate it a lot."
His tail gave a gentle wag. "I can let Mehdi know whenever you'd like and we'll make a day trip of it -- see the market, all that. It's a beautiful area."

Conway grinned. At least he was willing to try. And if they did it soon maybe it would be like tearing a band aid off of a wound? Of course he didn't know if deep seeded fears really worked like that, but it was worth a shot right?
"You're welcome, I guess," Conway said with a small shrug. "I kind of want to see the area but I wouldn't want to wander around without you. I might be a Hisstor but I'd stick out as someone "new" if I went to the market by myself."
He finished off the rest of his teacake and went for another one. "Well do you want to do it in a few days?" He gave the man a rather hopeful look. He could see the tiny bit of panic behind the Jackal.
Hopefully it wouldn't be too bad. It would be a nice trip, and they would be able to get plenty of fresh food.

In theory, the whole trip didn't seem too bad and Javaid continued to console himself. It was just within Hisstor, everything would be fine. And, if that wasn't enough, he had the pleasure of knowing that he was helping Conway achieve something he wanted. Javaid could go out to keep Conway company, right?
"I understand. I imagine I'll stick out a bit myself... It has been a terribly long time since I was out there last." And he'd made a bit of a name for himself since then. When you ran a service like the Grave Keepers of the Necropolis did then people learned your name and face fairly quickly and when the Priest was a recluse with strange hobbies that also circulated fairly quickly.
Javaid tried not to think about it.
"A few days sounds good -- enough time for your to recoup from your journey and for me to be certain that Mehdi's not out on business." Not to mention it would give Javaid some time to mentally prepare himself for the hurdle ahead.

He was tempted to ask how long the Jackal had been locked up here, but he refrained.
Conway was blissfully unaware of how badly Javaid was afraid of leaving. And honestly if had been properly warned about the situation he probably wouldn't have thought to mention that he wanted to go out. He would have been more than happy to cater to the man. And he would have been more than happy to travel to the market alone.
As it was he would continue to be blissfully unaware of what was going to happen. "That sounds like a good plan. Thank you Javaid," Conway said with a cheerful note as he finished off another cake. In another fluid motion he finished off his juice.
Now that he thought about it he was terribly tried. "Is the spare room still basically set up for me?" He asked with a bit of a yawn.

In light of the hour, Conway's yawn was terribly contagious. The jackal let a yawn slip out as he gathered up their plates. "Mm, of course. I tidied up in there not too long ago, so you're welcome to head to bed whenever you're ready." He'd looked - and sounded - so tired when he first arrived, Javaid was surprised he'd stayed up this late.
With only tea cakes and juice to clean up after, Javaid was done in rather short order. Another yawn slipped out and the jackal had to resign to the fact that he was, admittedly, terribly tired. He'd been on his feet all day thanks to work and had figured he'd be wired for the rest of the evening as well, but now that Conway was here and his exhaustion all came crashing down on him at once.
"I think it's about time I get to bed as well, do you need anything else?"

Conway smiled at Javaid’s statement. That was good to hear. He wouldn’t have to arrange things before going to bed. The Joker watched the Jackal clean up, feeling the exhaustion washing over him.
By the time the Jackal had cleaned up Conway had fallen asleep in the chair. Javaid’s words didn’t reach him as he snuggled a bit into the seat. Apparently he was a bit more exhausted than he thought he was, and as soon as he was comfortable when the anxiety was lifted he had drifted off.
Even if the man shook him Conway wasn’t going to wake up. When the morning sunlight filtered in he finally stirred. Only to grumble a bit and switch to his animal form, curling up in the chair as best as he could. When Javaid found him he would be half sprawled out on the chair, his back legs and his head hanging over one of the arms while his tail was flopped over him in an awkward manner.
It would be quite the sight.

"Hm, Conway?" Javaid's brows furrowed and he turned as he finished his cleaning to see what had kept Conway silent and instead broke into a fit of chuckling. Oh suits, he really was tired, wasn't he?
The jackal smiled fondly and stroked Conway's hair, debating how best to get him from the chair to a proper bed and regrettably finding none. He was too weak to carry Conway himself and he didn't particularly feel like activating his Queen's ability to make one of his corpse brutes do it. Alas, it would seem Conway would have to suffice with a blanket.
Once Javaid submitted to his own exhaustion, he seemed to sleep for an eternity and, for the first time in a long time, he actually felt rested at it's end. He woke, at last, to the sun pouring through his window and the song of the land in full activity. Suits. Of course, when he hurried out to be sure Conway didn't need him he instead found the wolf now sprawled out adorably over the chair.
Rather than wake him just now, Javaid focused on a good breakfast. Conway would need a proper energy boost after the journey and the awkward rest he probably got. Not to mention, of course, that it was always wonderful to wake to the smell of breakfast cooking.
