Xylia could put on a fairly convincing mask, what with the brilliance in her smiles and all, but Maxwell could read her like a book. She wasn't at all in the right state of mind to be left alone again and there could have been nothing more comforting than the warmth of Maxwell's body against her own. She was beyond thankful for it.
"Thank you, Maxwell! It'll be so nice to see Solo again!"
They really did get along quite well.
As Seiga approached further, Xylia momentarily silenced to listen to the two older males converse. After a moment she nodded and laughed ever so softly. "She might very well be possessive over you, she covets your assistance and enjoys your company." She was clinging to the lighter side of the conversation but as fate would have it she was smoothly drawn back in to that despairing subject. "N-No, Mr. Seiga. Mother didn't do a thing. I just...happened upon a sight I shouldn't have." She shuddered though only Maxwell would know this. "Gave me...quite a scare." She sighed a little, closing her eyes to steady her voice before continuing. "I'll be leaving for the Capital soon though, that should put some of my troubles at ease."
She reopened her eyes then, and flashed another smile. Such a mask she wore and oh how tightly she clung to it now.
"Thank you for your concern though, it's quite appreciated."
