Hatter was, quite honestly, rather bored with this. They were no one he knew, and he'd most likely get no amusement out of this escapade. Bah! He shifted slightly and accepted the cream cards, reading the red script slightly. Well, he recognized the scripting if nothing else. She'd gotten this information from Cauter then? Not the most trustworthy of sources, at least not in Hatter's book. He sold some rather questionable items, such as the leg Loreta currently wore.
"Neither of them are any friend of mine, nor has their research been of any persuasion to my interest." He recognized the addresses well enough though, not that he acted as if he recognized them. Instead he turned the cards over absently and then passed them to the Torque beside him. "What about you, Lore?"
If she didn't recognize the address or the person listed, then he would just leave the mouse to wander... Didn't bother him any.

The heron shook her head. "I wouldn't know his name unless it was on the shipping list," she peered over at the card. Something about that handwriting made her raise an eyebrow. It was terribly neat. It made her wonder who exactly was recommending these people.
Oh right. Address. "That's on our list of blacked out areas. We've been told by residents that they don't want our services there anymore. That's really close to the L-person who was blacklisted. Haven't the slightest idea why though. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to why you want to see people who run the risk of being sketchy--or worse yet--stupid."
Being on the blacklist wasn't always a bad thing. It just mean you tried to smuggle something that shouldn't be shipped through their small service. It was just people who didn't read the rules and needed to be punished for it most of the time. There were always exceptions of course.
"Anyway. It's down the road and to the left." Maybe. Close though.

Souris sighed quietly. She knew from previous experience that down the road and to the left was the surest way to get lost, Capital City or Corvistowne. "I didn't mean to be sketchy." she answered impatiently. "Or stupid. I spoke to Cau - a contact, seeking individuals who specialized in certain disciplines, and was directed to his contacts, both chemists. Lamya is supposed to be skilled in poisoning, and Marvin in stability poisons, which knowledge I seek, to complement my learning." She convienently left out her own studies in the Gardens, for now. "Prehaps you'd be able to direct me better?" she asked, half-challenging, half-inquiring. Neither seemed to be able to direct her to Marvin. The vague directions the heron'd supplied would help her find Lamya some, but not a lot. In that case, maybe she could get more information. From either Card. That being the case, she asked Loreta, curiously, "Service? Where are you headquartered?" Maybe a courier service would prove useful, especially in obtaining certain botanicals from the other realms. Provided that the request wouldn't get her blacklisted, of course. Before thinking to ask Hatter, who'd somehow been mostly excluded from the conversation, despite having started the conversation to begin with, "What are you interested in?", almost as an after-thought. (OOC: Not meaning to be rude and exclude you, Vyn. >>

Hatter's head tilted slowly to the side, a deep frown touching his features after a moment. That mouse... Was she rude or just stupid?
If you were looking for an honest conversation, you didn't ignore one person for the other. If you were looking for help, you didn't do that either. You did it when you wanted something from one person and not the other, and most of the time one should be wise enough not to make that obvious. That wasn't rude. That was stupid.
Hatter decided quite quickly that he didn't like her.
Even once she finally tossed an after-thought of a question at him, he found he didn't care enough about the Mouse to answer her directly. With the same off-handed disinterest that she had shown him, Hatter replied: "Mechanics."
It took a lot for someone to rub Hatter the wrong way, but being clearly ignored was a good way to do it. No one appreciated it, really. Especially not social butterflies with ADD.

Loreta... just rolled her eyes. "I gave you directions, I'm not leading you there. I think you're a big enough girl you can do it without someone holding your hand."
Ugh. Stupid people. Setting them all on fire would solve a lot of problems. Very few people had redeeming qualities. This girl currently had none. And poisons? Why the hell would someone want to deal with something that dangerous? That was probably why they were on the black list. Poisons and other dangerous materials had to be brought to the service and packaged by specialists before they were shipped. If they hadn't done that, then well. They were put on the blacklist. Obviously they were stupid or didn't care about people.
"Capital City, if you ever decide to use our service, be careful," She said with a dismissive wave. She wasn't going to tell her what the name of the company was. Loreta didn't want to deal with the unredeemable little mouse again. That and Hatter was getting testy. She figured something was wrong if he was getting annoyed.
"Like I said, down the road and to the left. Simple and easy to follow. Just use the magical joy of labeled mailboxes."

Souris blinked, mentally doubletaked, and looked down at the unusual mome rath again. "Oh." She felt stupid. No wonder the Secretary Bird wasn't interested in either Card's research. She felt bad, starting the conversation in the first place, when his...familiar should have clued her into his interests.
Now what? She was stuck. She didn't own any mechanicals, and she didn't have that much interest in mechanicals. She could go forward, but she'd appear to be using the heron. She didn't have an out.
And oh dear, Loreta wasn't a Card who would be scintillating conversation on her own. Not to her, at any rate. Her eyes narrowed as the heron rolled hers. So down the road, and to the left. She'd use the mailboxes, as the heron'd suggested. Prehaps that would do the trick.
(Do y'all want to do one last post with your characters walking off, or do we count this as finished?)
