It was more than unusual for the stallion to retreat from his new home in the Capital City to anywhere besides his real home out in Josiggy Marsh. Today, however, he was making an exception. Lately he’d found he had some strange… desires. Nothing too shocking really, except that he was a grazer. He enjoyed his nice grasses with some vegetables and wot not thrown in from time to time. But he’d almost ordered meat the other day and that had frightened him. So he was wandering through Corvistowne now hoping to find some strange creature who might have a clue of wot was wrong with him. Green ears swiveled about uneasily in the dilapidated town. The buildings were worn and obviously untended and he wasn’t certain if he’d walked into the bad part of the region or if everything was like this. He gave an annoyed sigh and headed onwards. The green stallion kept wandering, hoping for some sign of –something-, even the residents seemed to not exist! Just a bunch of empty looking houses, though he was certain somebody was watching him. His strides pushed on in long, ground-eating steps and the next thing he knew he was on the outer edges of the town. Wot the—? He pivoted around to head back into the town, only to pull up at the sight of someone sitting in front of a house just a little ways down from where he stood. Well, he –did- need to start somewhere. With ears back, Rai headed towards the… human? A strange looking human at that. ”Excuse me,” he finally said. ”I’m looking for…” Wot was he looking for? He didn’t know a simple way of explaining.

Kazifel was not amused as he sat outside of the only place he called home. He couldn't get in. He was locked out, and he couldn't get in. He tried breaking the door, but nothing worked. The doll simply sat on the stairs in shock. When he tried to transform, nothing happened. He was stuck in his human form. The raccoon had run off, and he was alone. He didn't even have Cassiel's workshop to comfort him. Everything was adding up. Everything was crashing down over his head. He stared blankly forward, watching the horizon. Nothing ever came to his house. They all avoided it like the plague. He was alone. And now he would always be alone. Then he saw it. The horse wasn't from Corvistowne. That was probably why he approached. It had been so long Kazifel wasn't sure where he was from. He was a Jack of Hearts. That meant he needed to be proper. Kazifel couldn't help but be surprised that the equine didn't notice anything. "You're in Corvistowne," the doll said clearly. His expression remained the same. It always did that unless he was angry. "You can find any of the medical treatments, poisons, or mechanics that you need. What do you want?"Dragging this Jack by the tail around town would be a fine experience. Perhaps he could find someone in town who could fix him? This one couldn't. Hearts. That Heart girl was useless. Was this Jack also easily breakable?

Shinrai blinked grey-green eyes in surprise at the… human’s first response. He knew he was in Corvistowne, but that was about the end of it. He tilted his head curiously at the strange Card and tried to place just wot was so off about the human man. It took a long moment of inspection, a moment filled with nothing more than silence, before Rai hit suddenly upon it. The man was fully jointed. Surprise lit the Jack of Heart’s expression for a moment before he hid it away again. He’d never seen anything like this before and he fought a desire to go prod at the other man.
With a sudden, mental start, Shinrai recalled the question posed to him. ”I’m concerned about certain reactions I’ve had as of late,” he finally answered slowly. He was sort of talking out wot he needed, something exceedingly unusual for him. ”I believe I need a medical specialist, but someone who knows poisons may be useful as well.” Though finding someone to fill all of that might require quite a search.

"Finding a medical Corvistowneian isn't difficult. We simply need to get to a town. It's a bit of a walk though." Kazifel said in his same polite tone. Apparently the equine was trying to hide the fact that he needed to be fixed. It was a pointless endeavor, why else would he be in Corvistowne?
Of course, his problem meant that Kaziel needed to leave the house to lead the equine on a goose chase. He did not want to leave the only place he had called home in so many years. He didn't want to leave behind what was left of his Cassiel. However, what else could he do? In town he could find someone to fix him, and to fix the house. Even if he needed to use force.
Kazifel suddenly stood up, creaking slightly. Hopefully the horse would pass it off as being cracking bones. The doll studied the horse up and down. He wasn't particular handsome even with his impressive rank. No matter, he was broken like the other Heart. "I wish I could help you personally, but despite being part Corvistowneian myself, I tend to lean towards my other half. I prefer the way things break apart... rather than how to fix them."
Breaking things was so much easier.

”I don’t mind a walk,” the stallion answered, tail flicking slightly in unease. The human man creeped him out a great deal more than he cared to admit. When the joints cracked, Rai’s eyes flinched; the tiniest twitch of disquiet in his gaze. He averted his eyes for a moment until the doll was standing again. The stallion looked back uneasily as the human stared at him flatly. Unnerved, the horse started slightly when the other man spoke again. Shinrai’s ears stayed down as he listened.
Breaking things? His other half? Perhaps this was the wrong person to call out to for aid. ”Wot is your other half?” the stallion asked quietly, unwilling to step any closer to his would-be guide. His golden and yellow hooves danced slightly across the cobblestones as he tried to think of something else to say. But he had no response for the doll’s desire to break things apart and he certainly wasn’tgoing to offer his own services for that.

(( OOC: This is the only muse I have. XD and I find it funny that the thread spells out SOS ))
"Highlander," he said with a note of finality. He was quite proud of his Highlands side. In made up for his status a Club, or so Cassiel used to say. That was one of the few things she was jealous of not having. He missed her. He wished that all the events had never transpired and they would have simply lived in ignorance the rest of their lives.
"Call me Kazifel," said the doll as he began to walk past the Jack. They had forgotten proper introductions, but it didn't seem to matter to the equine. The Heart seemed to be in quite a hurry. Broken things always seemed to need fixing right away. Kazifel was the same, but his answer probably was not as simple as the equines.
"Should you bother to give me your real name, I would like to say it's a pleasure to meet you," Kazifel said as he sauntered down the path, assuming the horse was following him. Not many people bothered to tell him their name either way. How far away were the other houses? He couldn't really remember. It had been so long since he was outside. Trees, clean air, it was all so very sickening... he wanted the paint and thread that hung in the workshop. Enough. He had to focus.

A Corvistowne Highlander mix, a human with jointed parts, a strange creature with the name Kazifel; Shinrai had a feeling that the being he was now slowly following wouldn’t truly be pleased to meet him whether or not he was bothered to pass on his real name. Perhaps, however, because of this goading, or perhaps simply because he was feeling a little freaked out, the stallion answered quietly, ”I am Shinrai.”
The stallion tried to force his attention away from his reluctant guide, though it was rather difficult to do with the other man’s unusual appearance and nature. The area they were headed towards seemed as downtrodden and ill-cared for as any other part he had seen in Corvistowne. It seemed strange that the people of such a passionate region would have such little concern for the appearance of their homes and shops. Still, he didn’t live here, so it shouldn’t be any of his concern.
His grey-green eye began trailing back to Kazifel again. ”I mean no offense,” he finally said quietly. ”But… wot exactly are you?”

Shinrai was an elegant name to some extent. Perhaps there was more to this Jack than he had originally thought. Kazifel scanned the town on the horizon. It was shabbier than he had remembered. He knew that no one he could care about was in the town in front of them. They were all dead. If it was his fault or someone else's he never cared to remember. He simply knew it hurt to think about it.
He stopped dead in his tracks when Shinrai asked his question. He meant no offense did he? Then why bother asking the monster what he was? Herm? If he had been polite he would have shut his mouth. Kazifel managed to let out a soft growl of annoyance. He would not snap at the heart. He remembered what happened to her. She broke so easily it pulled on what little heartstrings Kazifel had left. He did not want this new comer to break so easily.
"A doll," he said turning his head a quarter of the way around. "But I am a living being like you. I'm just harder to break." He would have smiled if it would not have been lost on the equine.

The stallion’s ears flattened suddenly against his skull, eyes narrowing in suspicion of the strange Kazifel. A doll? Wot was that supposed to mean? The joints, however, lent authenticity to the creature’s words and the horse found a shudder threatening to shiver his spine. He fought to regain his outer calm, forcing his voice to remain level, ”You are a living doll?” The subject line seemed to anger Kazifel, but the horse’s curiousity refused to subside until he asked. ”How is that even possible?”
A mechanical given life… the proof seemed to be standing before him in a terrible mockery of his own existence. Every word the doll spoke was tainted with a faint edge of hostility; Shinrai couldn’t be certain if he was being threatened or not, though he did remain on uneasy guard. He had stopped when Kazifel stopped, and he was certainly unwilling to give the other Jack his back; he couldn’t tell if the other man would take it as an offense or would simply do something terrible, like rip out his spine, just to do it. The stallion refused to be broken, however, even by something as nerve-wracking as this doll.

"You're not the bright one," Kazifel said as he slowly turned around. It was expected from someone who didn't live in Corvistowne. They could never understand the genius it took to combine science and magic. Possibilities were also limitless. Reality had no real meaning. Very few people understood that.
It didn't matter though. "I could explain to you the painful process that I went through to become such a monster, but I doubt your interested in such a thing. Simply accept it and move on." It came out far more harsh than he meant it to. The doll briefly thought about explaining himself further, but he gave up long before he started. The equine was already afraid of him, he would probably run away if he continued any further. Figures. Hearts were never as brave as they said they were.
He turned back around and continued to walk forward. "You're from one of the Marshes correct?" he asked without looking back. If he was, he was pretty far away from home. If he wasn't oh well. He would still have time to poke at Shinrai, broken or not.
