Peaches choked back a giggle. Perfect name for him indeed. Hers was something else entirely. "To be honest, I hate my name. Primarily I hate my herbalist hippy of a mother for giving me such a shallow name. At least my brother had a legitimate reason for his name. I, however, was named after a tree that just so happened to be outside of my mother's window."
She snorted though and shifted her head to look at him with amused eyes. "Hatter is perfect for you though. It at least describes your most predominate quality. Mine just makes people raise an eyebrow and ask if I'm serious. Your Excellence Peaches doesn't sound all that impressive."
Oh right. He didn't know her rank did he? Now he did if he knew his court titles. "Has anyone told you you make a wonderful heating pad?" She said with another purr. Warm. It was lovely.

Hatter smiled sheepishly at her confession. He could see how she disliked her name, but he still found it very cute. Her mother's decision was, even he had to admit, a touch out of her head. The name was sweet, but not entirely legitimate. Then again, Hatter's name had been entirely legitimate but he had absolutely hated it.
"I have always believed that it is you that makes your name, not the other way around. In that respect, Your Excellence Peaches can make as grand an entrance as anyone else. It's all in the way you present yourself." He grinned cheerfully and gave her a kiss on the nose. "Of course, I think the cute quirky Peaches is the best."
While she hadn't said it direct whether or not she had stayed a Jack, she had mentioned being born as one.
"Mmm, no they haven't...but you, my friend, are quite warm as well." His arms tightened around her, pulling her body more fully against his own. "You make a delightful blanket yourself, and I love the way you purr. Keep that up and you're welcome to keeping using me as a heating pad for as long as you'd like."

She hadn't purred this much in a while. Kisses, secrets and warm fuzzies. What a fantastic night. She wiggled a bit so she could curl up better. As comfortable as Hatter was, Peaches preferred to curl up around whatever she was planning to sleep on or with. If she was spending the night here she would pass out eventually and she didn't want to drool on Hatter's shirt or anything.
As tight as his grip she was still pretty floppy and flexible. She was a cat after all. Peaches grinned and licked his nose. "As good as a blanket I make, I can do quite a few other and better things." She raised an eyebrow at a thought that wandered in and out of her head. Put that off for a little longer.
"You like tea right? Do you actually know how to gather ingredients and make real tea or do you just deal with the finished product?" She tilted her head slightly as she awaited a response.

Hatter was as fascinated by her feline movements, by the way that she could twist and turn in his arms despite the friendly grip he had on her. He would do nothing to constrict her movements or keep her from getting comfortable. He grinned at her comment, arching a brow in a playfully suggestive manner.
Could she now? Hatter was quite tempted to prod at Peaches, to find out what exactly she could do and if it was what it seemed to suggest, but before he could the feline prompted him with something else. Tea? Instantly his attention perked and he broke into a wide grin.
"Actually, I do." He smiled warmly, beaming a little at the thought of tea. It was his hobby, his joy. "I could probably improve my technique, but I've made a few brews of my own." Tilting his head to the side, peering eagerly up at Peaches, he had to ask the question that was quite suddenly pressing at his thoughts. "If you asked then, may I assume you can?"

"A daughter of an herbalist hippy can easily make medicinal teas, teas that can kill you, and teas that can make you do things you never wanted to think of." Peaches cleared he throat before smirking, "But I prefer making tea that you can drink without nasty side effects. It's something I do when I have nothing better to do and don't feel like going out."
Which wasn't very often, but she did a good job at making her own blends to some degree. "I would have to try some of your blends sometime. My mom was picky with her tea, so I have a pretty good sense of what could be sold if you ever felt so inclined. Your own brand of tea might be quite amusing." She smirked with a grin almost as wide as a Cheshire's. Tea seemed to be one of his happy buttons. Good. They had something else in common besides being just a little touched in the head.

Hatter's attention was definitely perking with every word she spoke. He'd made medicinal teas before, such as the brew he'd offered Loreta for her migraines, but teas that could kill? Or, better yet...teas that could make you do unspeakable things? Oh yes, that was intriguing! ...He definitely needed to improve his technique when he was confronted with that knowledge
"Well well! There really are some benefits to being the daughter of an herbalist hippy!" He laughed warmly, his two-toned eyes full of curiousity. "And to think my most interesting tea accessory is currently an enchanted tea pot of which I'm still not quite certain of its properties!"
So far Hatter had proved to be more a connoisseur and a collector, showing little knack for the herbology required for actual details of crafting teas. He echoed her Cheshire grin, delighted by her knowledge when it came to tea. He would have to get Peaches to teach him a few tricks and skills!
"We will have to share recipes as well as brews. These unspeakable things your teas appear capable of? I'm quite intrigued. Fear I wouldn't be inclined to try them on a whim, though I imagine you couldn't quite blame me there."

Peaches giggled, "I could never blame you for being curious. I imagine if my mother wasn't into such weird things I wouldn't know a thing about strange teas. She is actually one of the reasons I'm so curious about secrets. Even if we aren't on speaking terms." The feline woman rolled her eyes at the thought of talking with her darling mother. It would end with Peaches knocking all of her mother's teeth out.
"If I was better with enchantments I would be more than happy to test that teapot out. I think I'll wait until you find out what it does before I take a peak at it." She wiggled a bit, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling herself a bit higher up. "We do need to share tea stuffs though. For now, however I'm perfectly comfortable with snuggling."
Maybe a little more than snuggling could come of this night, eh? Would the miniskirt cat bother to say anything like that out loud. Until then she smirked and purred while watching the Hatter's face. He was such a pretty man.

"Secrets and tea are a good thing to adopt from your mother, though...from what you've said of her, I'll take it that that is just about all you've taken from her." Hatter had learned a great deal about family inheritance, and of the fact that he was nothing like the people the birthed him. Even the woman who had raised him had contributed little to him except some unusual material gains.
"Ah, well... I know what the tea pot does, the man who sold it to me could tell me that much. How or why is still a mystery to me." He smirked slightly, making a low sound in the back of his throat as she slid up further on top of him. Such a beautiful girl... "Hmm, I agree completely. I'm quite comfortable just laying here with you."
Oh that feline smirk. Hatter loved it as much as he loves her purring. It was a smirk that said far more than the face value suggested, of a smug plotting that only left him more than intrigued.

With a sudden bout of flexibility and squirming she managed to release herself from Hatter's grip. However, Peaches remained on top of him, except now, she was very my straddling him, a cat smirk still on her face.
"So~ I'm going to issue you a challenge. Not many people can get my straight jacket off without my help. If you can do so then, well. We'll have a little fun however you like," she winked as she purred at the very thought.
"So does the Hatter accept the challenge or does she shy away like so many others?" She waved a coat sleeve as she spoke. She would have wiggled if she wasn't in such an awkward position for wiggling. She purred though. "I hope you don't. You are a perfect former stranger, I wouldn't know what to do if you didn't take my challenge."

Hatter was not your general pervert. He didn't grab random girls from the street and take them home for a romp in the sack. It simply wasn't his style. Peaches was, however, a very special situation. In but a few hours she had learned more about him than most hoped to learn in years of keeping his company. So anything he wanted? The thought made him smile widely as he squirmed ever so slightly beneath her. More like what they both wanted, or she wouldn't have been offering.
"I? The Great Hatter the Mad shying away from a challenge?! Oh no, impossible. Not I, not from a puzzle." He sat up smoothly so that she was in his lap and his hands had fallen to the small of her back. "Not from such a lovely lady." The Hatter purred, this time the mimic was near perfect. Blame a little Joker magic on that. "I most definitely accept your challenge."
What was more impressive, however, was Hatter's skill with his fingers. Her jacket was a riddle, an excessively delightful riddle and he was intent to get it off of her without help. In fact, she was likely going to be surprised at just how fast those nimble fingers worked to remove her jacket. Hatter was absolutely a genius when it came to taking things apart. It hadn't always been a good thing, but it definitely had its uses now.
