And suddenly, instead of staring into his uncle's wide, startled eyes, he was staring into a pair of all-too-familiar golden orbs that were watching him with a glittering sort of feralness and an unnatural glow. She didn't pull back, as close to him as he'd been to his uncle, breath hot and ruffling his feathers. Slowly her eyes lost a touch of their magical glow, but it was still present enough to be noticeable.

"Perhaps you veren't the thief ve vere looking for after all. Vhoops. My mistake." Slowly Anoushka pulled back from him, teeth bared in a grin as they often were. "Silly of me, mmm? That's vhat you get vhen you overvork your Kings. Keep that in mind, Pascha. Balance. It's so very important, especially for you vith your... issues. Quite a lot, aren't there? Your memories are just a mess."

She regarded him intently for another moment, then looked to the side dismissively. "Your rank is changed. You may leave me. I have finished vith you. Speak to somevon else about a room."

Pascha nearly swore out loud when the eyes abruptly changed from black to gold, but kept it from escaping while he gained his bearings.

Where the hell was he?

.. Anoushka? .. Anoushka! His jack quest, what the he--blast.

The canine's talking interrupted his thoughts, or lack thereof, and he forced himself to pay attention to what she was saying instead of looking around dazed like he wanted to. He wasn't the theif; that he knew, had maintained all along.. though he'd forgotten that it was Anoushka accusing him for a while, there. Whatever her magic was, it was very potent--the image of his uncle standing before him was all too real.. and his body certainly believed he was still in Corvistowne, despite the office setting before him.

He was done, his rank was.. changed? Automatically Pascha glanced down with a frown and blinked at the "J" on his chest. When he looked back up he had a bit of a smile on his face, and he bowed once again to the King. "Thank you, Your Highness," He said, quite sincerely--along with his rank, she had given him more power over himself than he knew he had, and perhaps Aderlass would not need to watch him so closely from now on.

Pascha turned to leave, fully prepared to go politely request his key from Aderlass.. and maybe find a nice cape, just for the element of surprise.
