Malchiah rung his hands together for a second before her straightened up again. Gah, he was never this nervous, ever. But this was the first day and he was going to be shadowing Pascha. . . Just yesterday he had met his now employer and the owl that would be teaching him the ropes. All he remembered were vague threats and a rather muscled chest. The sparrow shook his head, quite unsure of what to think of his superior. Soon, he'd find out. The lakelander walked through the front doors towards the room where he was to meet the owl. His nerves began to compound within his stomach. Butterflies rising to his throat and itching at the back of his neck. He was very nearly tempted to start coughing, as if he could actually eject the feeling from his body. He knocked lightly upon the door to the room, and waited. "It's Malchiah.. . Pascha." He said through the door.

Pascha wasn't actually doing anything of any importance. The rooms they had directed Malchiah to was actually Aderlass's suite, as that's where Pascha did 95% of his work, so unless the mouse directed otherwise, that's where Malc would be as well. The owl was trying to read a piece of paperwork he was supposed to show Malc how to fill out, but he kept dozing off in the middle of it because it was so dry. That, and he hadn't gotten a lot of sleep the previous night, he wasn't sure why though. Malc's knock and greeting woke him up abruptly, and caused him to accidentally throw the paper on the ground. He sighed and rubbed at his eyes, then called, "You can come in," before getting up and bending down in order to pick it back up and set it down on the table. The owl had a feeling that the day was going to end up awkward, though he wished it otherwise. He had no real ambition to speak to the sparrow and no real idea of what to do after he taught him everything--for what Pascha did was really very simple and not very extensive. He also felt a little ungainly in his bipedal form as he very rarely used it to walk around in, and so was afraid that he would do something embarrassing like trip and fall. Not that he didn't trip and fall in his animal form, but he was much smaller then..

After waiting a moment or two Malchiah heard the response from the other side of the door. With a quick intake of breath he opened the door and stepped inside. He saw papers and frowned, but quickly turned it into a smile. The sparrow never had been one for numbers and such, much to his father's chagrin. But he knew he could do it to keep the job. There were far too many other benefits to it to dump it because he had to fill out a paper or two.
He did a small quick nod and tried very very hard not to stare. The other male really was quite a muscled little thing. And yet, he was still so very petite. Quickly he moved over to sit on the chair across from the owl and looked around the room to keep himself busy.
Not a word came from his beak and you could swear there were crickets chirping somewhere.

"So," Pascha began immediately, then paused when Malchiah seemed to rapidly change his expression. As soon as it settled he waited a few more minutes, just to see if he would say anything, but it didn't appear as though he wanted to. Was it just him, or did he keep looking at his chest..? Was it his ranking? 10 wasn't so odd, was it? Mildly confused, he forced himself to continue. "The main thing that I do is fill out boring paperwork the A-club can't be bothered to do for themselves." He picked up the piece of paper and handed it to the sparrow, along with a pen.
"You just fill in the blanks and then give it to one of them to sign. Normally there's a lot of them, but try this one for practice." Pascha waited as the sparrow began working on it and tried not to stare himself--since when were moving arm muscles so interesting to watch? Aderlass wrote all the time and Pascha had never felt the slightest inclination to stare rabidly.
He needed to get more sleep, he really did.

Malchiah noticed the small flub in the owl's sentence and grinned. Pretty sure that the A was leading into Aderlass. He had no problem with the Queen not being bothered to do paperwork, perk of the rank he supposed. But still he grinned, amused at the odd relationship between the white male and the mouse.
He took the paperwork gently and looked it over before twitching his face a little in pain and filling it out. It really was quite easy, mind-numbingly so. He supposed that was fine, as long as he didn't have to think too hard. His eyes glanced over to the owl to see what he was doing and was surprised to see the smaller males eyes on him. Malc's eyes stayed on the owls for a second, twinkling with some inner joke before looking back down to the paper.
"Think I'm done." He said with a smirk before handing it to Pascha.

Pascha rose an eyebrow as the bird seemed to want to whimper. It was just a form.. and an easy one at that. He watched him somewhat absentmindedly but was surprised when Malc abruptly looked up, made eye contact, and kept it. The owl had no idea what to do so simply froze, but thankfully the sparrow looked back down and gave him some relief.
Malc finished and looked up once more, and Pascha rose an eyebrow again. Smirking? What was this? The form was easy, yes, but there were much harder ones lurking about. He took the paper and glanced over it, then stood up and walked to the small desk that Aderlass kept in the room and began rifling through the drawers until he found what he wanted. It looked like a stack of papers but the staple in the corner identified it as a single form. The owl walked back and set it on the table in front of Malc.. despite wanting to simply let it slam to emphasize it's weight. He sat down once more, and tilted his head. "There's only one form, at the end, but it's rather.. complicated."

Malchiah watched the owl in intense interest for more than one reason. As the smaller male's eyes scanned the form he did sincerely hope that he hadn't missed anything. It was only by sheer luck that he had actually remembered the proper address for the court of clubs, other than that everything was fairly straight-forwards. The sparrow was interested as well, in why the owl had been watching him so intently. Oh he had an idea, as he always did.
It was just yesterday he was flubbing words in front of the Queen and now he felt comfortable enough to flirt with Pascha. Wait. . WHAT!? Malc blinked suddenly, was he really flirting with the male? Well, he supposed he was. He was just about to smile at himself when a rather large and scary looking mound of papers was dropped on the desk in front of him. A look of horror instead passed over his face and his original musings were forgotten. He flipped quickly back to the form and tentatively filled out a few things before letting his head drop and hit the desk.
"Seriously Pascha? This thing wouldn't be used even once every 5 years!" He nearly mewled, if only his throat was made for it. His muscles bunched and loosened over and over again in stress.

Pascha nearly laughed outright at Malc's expression but managed to keep his face composed as the sparrow attempted to work through it. He couldn't hold it, though, and snickered as Malc's head hit the paper, and then began laughing outright after he spoke. (He had an odd temptation to reach out and touch Malc's head after he put it down in frustration, but quelled it quickly before the sparrow noticed.) "Seriously!" He managed to get out between chokes of laughter, though he calmed down after a minute to speak further. "Two, actually. It's the form for renewing the senior-ranking guards' contracts for the Court. You won't be doing it, though, I believe they dumped that job on Ataxia.. I just wanted to see if you would try it or not." The owl kept his grin muted to a smile and a raised eyebrow as he sat back in his chair and watched the sparrow.
"Relax," He added as an afterthought, "I told you this job was easy, didn't I?"

Malchiah started at the laughter and looked up to see the small owl nearly rolling about in laughter. The sparrow grinned than began to laugh as well, reaching out a hand to swat at Pascha playfully. "Oh shush you. No teasing the new guy." But Malc was grinning from ear to ear and obviously didn't mind at all.
"It's a bloody hell of a messy form that's for sure. It really could be revised and cleaned up." He said, looking back at it before looking back up at the owl. Perhaps this job wouldn't be bad, even with paperwork included.
"Yeah. . " He smiled warmly. "This job doesn't seem to bad at all." Malc looked at the paperwork and filled out one more line before pushing it away from him in utter disgust.
He laughed again and turned completely towards Pascha, moving his chair to face him. "What's next teacher?"

Pascha blinked when he was lightly swatted, and was mildly confused that it didn't bother him in the slightest. After a pause he shrugged to himself and continued on with the conversation. ".... That's the revised version," He replied dryly, and pointed briefly to the top of the paper where it stated "Revision II" in small letters.
"It's really not at all, no." He snorted as Malc pushed it away from him, and pushed it to the corner of the table to be thrown away later.
When Malc turned his chair and completely faced him, Pascha again had absolutely no idea how to react, despite his body telling him what it wanted to do. So he kept his expression abnormally calm before pausing to consider what was next. "Why don't we go meet the guards? You'll get sent to find one or tell one something quite often, as they have more authority than we do."
He got up quickly, before his body decided it had better things to do, and went to the doorway to wait for Malc.
