Letting both of his Does hop in front of him he gave a chuckle. He was now only amused at the new situation rather then annoyed. This was going to be a very interesting evening but a lovely one at that.
Reaching the entrance he gave Chel a smile before doing a small bow playfully. “It would be an honor.” He quickly grasped the basket by the handle, taking up one of Eli’s ears as well. She seemed to be staying by his side where as Chel was always bouncing around.
Continuing on the walk he tilted his head to the side in thought. It really was pretty interesting to see how different the two Does were, not only in color but in their moods and display of emotions. Chel seemed to always be on the go, demanding attention and looking for fun, where as his Eli was more quite and subdued in her demands for attention.
Seeing the candles he raised an eyebrow. Just what was it that Chel had planned for them?

Chel's exuberance helped to wake Eli up a little bit after she'd started to relax in the bedroom and she followed, glancing back every now and then to make sure Leon was right behind. She knew he was, could feel him there, but she just wanted to check. It made her feel better.
And even better still when he took the basket and held onto her ear! She smiled, the one not being held twitching, and walked along beside him at a slower pace than the always-energetic Chel. She didn't feel the need to say anything, just brushed up against his leg every few steps. It wasn't horribly obvious, but it made some small part of her feel good, to be there right beside him.
The candles surprised her and she looked around, wondering how long the path had taken to set up. Had the Josiggy Doe done it by herself? Probably not, when there were Leverets in the warren to help her or just do it for her. "Which lake are we going to?"

"This one," Chelan replied immediately. "It's just around these trees here! We've been to it a bunch of times, you should know where it is by now." The doe moved a little faster, her bottom wiggling a bit as she got more excited. She bounded around the trees and waited for them, her tail whipping back and forth. "Well, what do you think?"
The jossigy was sitting next to several blankets that were set up on the sand, several meters away from the water, but within easy walking distance should they, for some reason, find themselves wanting to get in the lake. On top of the blankets were three cushions, strategically placed in a row with the middle one being larger than the end two. A large picnic basket was in the middle, and several decks of cards were sitting next to it, apparently for if they got bored. The candles that had lit the way were surrounding the blanket, but they flickered a bit, no doubt from being so close to the lake breeze.
"I did help the leveret set it up! That red one, what's his name? set up the candles and lit them, he said he didn't trust me with fire.. and he made the picnic basket but I brought it out! And I picked out the food for the basket!" She was grinning so hopefully, completely oblivious to the fact that she really hadn't done any of the work at all.

“This is very impressive mon cheri,” he said as they came across the area that had been set up for them.
Relinquishing his hold on Eli’s ear he placed the basket that he had been carrying down. Tucking her under the chin he gave her a light kiss. “You did a very nice job” he added. He was more aware from what she had just said that her ‘helping’ had not really involved her doing anything, but he was more then willing to praise her for it. After all, his Doe’s should not really be doing any work - that is what the Leverets were for.
Not wanting to take any control over the situation just yet, especially with Chel seeming to be so proud of herself and having her own plans, he gave her a grin. “So now that you have us here, mon cheri, what is it that you have planned for us next?”

Eli looked around the space, impressed and quietly awed that Chel had gone to all this effort to set this up for them. Well, to have it set up, since the Leverets had done the work... but she had prompted it all and made it happen, in her way. It was perfectly set up for their amusement, a light snack, conversation and just resting there, which was good because of the lateness of the outing. At least it was warm enough to make the situation comfortable beneath the night sky.
She moved to settle on one of the blankets, looking up at the silhouette Leon and Chel made in the candlelight. "It's absolutely lovely, Chel. I never would have thought a picnic at midnight could be anything besides... well, besides annoying, but you managed to make it quite a lot nicer than that."
The matter of what Chel might prompt them to do next also interested her and she listened with her ears tilted forward.

Chelan wiggled happily when she was awarded with a grin, and bounded over to settle herself down next to Eli. "Thank you. I think," She added, and stuck her tongue out playfully at the other doe. "Have some faith in me, El! I'm not all obnoxious twit," Though her words had a serious note to them, they were mostly playful, and she immediately grabbed the cards in front of her.
"Well..." She started, absently playing with the card on top, "We could play Dead Man's Chest..." Chel paused, a wicked grin lighting up her face, "Or strip poker. Modified with blankets, of course, since Eli and myself aren't wearing clothing." The doe blinked up at Leon, the picture of innocence if innocence had died and Chelan replaced it. "Leon? Which do you wish to play?"

Not wanting to be left out of the fun, Leon followed his two Does, settling himself on the blankets as well. Relaxing against the pillows he placed a paw possessively on each Doe. He fiddled with the fur on Chel’s tail while his other hand rested on Eli’s paw.
At her offers of card game choices he gave a soft ‘hum’ noise as if he was thinking about it. Once she had mentioned the second one though, there had been no doubt in his mind which one he was more interested in playing.
Such a romantic location, a romantic set up, and a romantic hour . . . nope there was not a doubt.
“I do not know, mon cherie. That is such a tough choice.” He gave a long sigh, as if the decision really was painful before giving Chel a wink. “After much painful thought I think it would all benefit us if we went with the second game.”

Eli knew how to play some card games - the old Doe who used to care for the younglings in her birth warren was a big fan of poker - but she'd never combined the word 'strip' with it. Obviously Chel knew different rules than she did. With the Doe next to her and Leon behind her and stroking her paw, she felt comfortable and nervous all at once. These were the only people she would want to be so close to her now, them and Bianca as her closest friend, but the expression on Chel's face made her feel awkward. She could never be so 'artful' in wooing their Jack.
"I would love to play... if you could explain how it's different from regular poker, Chel?" green eyes flicked from the green Doe to their Jack. She felt out of the loop, but it was such a beautiful night that she couldn't let herself feel too bad. Just meek. Very meek.

"Wonderful! Strip poker it is then." Chel stated with a nod of her hand, and she began shuffling the cards in earnest, though she really wasn't very good at it with her paws. It was enough to get them mixed up, though, which was the entire point.
When Eli asked her the difference, she grinned a bit. "The rules aren't very different at all. We all have to be adorned with something--in our case, we'll wrap ourselves in blankets--and each time we lose a hand we have to take something off. Leon has to actually remove something, but we just have to... expose something? since taking the entire blanket off wouldn't be fair. The first one completely naked loses and has to do one dare agreed upon by the other two." Her grin widened at the last rule. That wasn't really a rule, she just hoped Leon would lose so her and Eli could come up with something completely weird for him to do.
