((Sorry, couldn't help the random title <3)) Pathos checked the time on a wall clock once more, as he had already done several times. It was still 11:55, and he was still five minutes early. The feline had yet to see his date, but not everyone had a penchant for being obsessively early as he did. The sad part was that he'd been there for ten minutes, making him a total of twenty minutes early. The Selkie didn't walk in immediately but was sitting on one of the benches outside, doing his best to relax. It was just a date and nothing to get worked up about.. except his date was a very pretty and very nice badger that he happened to like immensely, which just made him nervous that he'd do something to bungle it. Another minute passed. Liv still wasn't there, but he might as well go in and sit down--it wouldn't be hard to find him, since the restaurant wasn't especially busy today. The feline entered and was seated, and idly glanced over the menu while he waited. Chef Surprise, made fresh everyday from leftover ingredients.. yumyum.

Liv made her way to the place she agreed to meet with Pathos a few days before. She was a little early, about four minutes. She preferred to be a little early, greatly disliking those who think that "fashionably late" is fashionable at all. She was walking up when she saw him go into the place. He looked like he'd been waiting outside. Was she late? Her worried a little. She hoped not, she would just feel awful! She went inside and found the table, sitting down barely a minute after he did. "Hey!" she greeted, smiling at him. "It's good to see you again!" she would wait for him to respond before looking down at her menu. Her fur covering her light blush at the memory of their first kiss on their first date. She felt very silly, almost immature and childish, for letting a little thing like that get her all mentally giggly. She was a little nervous, but in an excited and happy way.

Pathos was pleasantly surprised when she walked in directly after him--how had he missed that? She must have spotted him going in and followed the waiter. "Liv! You startled me," He said with a big smile. Immediately after he leaned over and gave her her second kiss--though this one was on the cheek. "And you as well, of course."
The feline took note of her blush, and was glad to see that she was at least as nervous as he was--at least he wasn't alone in that! He glanced down at the menu a few times, but his eyes kept being drawn to the chef surprise.. surely there was something better than that.
"How was your morning?" Pathos inquired with a tilt of his head. He really knew very little about the badger besides what she'd told him from their first meeting, and Peder and Cecilia had prevented him from really talking to her, so he fully intended to find out as much as he could.

She smiled and blushed a little redder as he kissed her on the cheek. She was so happy and had to suppress a giggle. Her smile became a little broader when she turned back to him.
"It was alright. New people checked in last night to the hotel I'm staying at and were a bit noisy in the room right above mine... at 3 in the morning... but other than that, just fine!" She wasn't tired, though, as somebody else had complained about the noise and they were asked to be quiet. She perused the menu. Chef's Surprise? Uh, no thank you. She looked at the rest of the menu. Ooo~ potatoes. Heavy food with lots of carbs was always a weakness of hers. That potato casserole thing sounded like it totally rocked.
"How about you?" she asked, looking back up at him, closing her menu. "We really didn't get much of a chance to talk last time."

Pathos smiled a bit more as she blushed, though he tried not to smile too much.. was it really possible to control your smile? He'd never really tried, sadly.
"That's rude of them. You should have thwapped something on the ceiling," He replied with a grin, kidding, though he certainly would have done so himself. The feline continued browsing the menu, his eyes eventually sliding over the chefs surprise and finding something that sounded more edible--tuna!
Mmm, tuna. Every cat's desire. Now, was cream offered as a drink, or would that be a tad bit embarrassing to order? Pathos thought about it, and discarded the notion--ordering cream would be like asking for catnip, which he might have actually have done, if Liv weren't there.
"Mine was just lovely, my dear. I helped a nice old man out with his yard and then came to meet you, which of course made it all the better," Pathos replied with a wink. "But before we get into talking too much, shall we order an appetizer or go straight to lunch?"

"I almost did, but then they started to quiet down, so it was alright." At least she said she was. In reality, she didn't realize how very forgiving she actually was. She smiled a little more when he said she'd made his day better. If just made her all.. wiggly inside.
"Well, if you're not decided yet, we could start with an appetizer..." she laughed, "but then that would just take more decision, too, wouldn't it?" It was an amusing conundrum. Eventually a waiter came over and gave them a very small basket of bread with a side of butter and a side of dipping oil with vinegar. Liv waited for Pathos to decide what he wanted to eat. She didn't huff or roll her eyes, only displaying patience. She honestly didn't even mind, she'd been in the same situation before, feeling rushed to decided between two excellent sounding dishes by an impatient friend or date. It wasn't a happy feeling.

"Well, beating ceilings with brooms is fun anyways, so I try not to pass up an opportunity for one," He replied with a grin. Pathos liked to annoy people that couldn't necessarily annoy him directly back, though he avoiding causing extreme annoyance and obviously any harm. Good fun was simply good fun! and it was sad that some people didn't see it that way.
"Ooh, you're right on that one. I think I'll just make one decision today and give my poor head a rest, eh?" Pathos absently ignored the waiter as he came over and gave them some bread, but when he came back the second time, he'd decided, so gave his order. "I'll have the tuna salad sandwich, please."
Tuna and bread! Was there no better combination?
As they waited for their food, he decided it was now question time. "So what do you plan to do with the rest of your vacation?"

The waiter came back and Liv gave her order as well. The waiter took their menus and left, Liv turned her attention back to Pathos.
"I... I'm not sure, actually. I had only expected to stay a week, but I wanted to stay another. This vacation is very overdue, you see, so I requested some more time off, and got it! But now... heh," she gave a shy smile, "I probably should have planned it a little better, 'cuz I'm all out of ideas!" she giggled, a little embarrassed to admit her blunder.
"I'm thinking of slinking over to Midori Beach instead of staying here. It'll probably be a little warm for my taste, seeing as I'm from the Range, but I've heard it's absolutely delightful!" She smiled, dipping a piece of bread in the oil.

Pathos nodded and smiled to her comments, absently eating his food as he thought. Would it be too much to ask to go with her? He had no engagements here to tie him down except for his brother--and one would hope an adult could handle himself on his own for a while. Then again, it was Peder.. and he was notorious for getting himself into trouble. Ah, well, if he did leave, it would be a learning experience for him.
After a few moments of comfortable silence, Pathos finally decided to speak up. "Well.. I hope this isn't too forward of me, but would you mind terribly if I went to the Beach with you?" He paused to smile a bit, "I've always wanted to go there but haven't made it out yet, and since it's right by my home, I figure I should probably learn a bit about my neighbors."
He paused again, and this time spoke a little quieter, "I haven't been home in a while.. perhaps we could go to the Lakes after the Beach? I mean, if it's all alright with you, that is."

Liv was a trusting fool. She was kind to other people effortlessly, and therefore had a difficult time understanding unprompted maliciousness. Fortunately for her, it always seemed to work out okay. Creeps tended to not be attracted to her for whatever lucky reason.
"I would love some company on my trip! It really isn't so fun to go by yourself, you know," she was so happy. She paused, and tilted her head, "Will Peder be joining us?" She was kind of hoping Pathos would say 'no'. As much as she liked his brother, there was a voice in the back of her mind telling her that 'three's a crowd' and she would enjoy the company of only Pathos much more. She fiddled with her food a little before eating some.
"I would love to go to the Lakes afterward. I've never been there."
