Rhiannon merely smiled at the Queen, nodding her head slightly. Wasn't that one of a King's duties, after all? Making sure that their Queen never felt left out and generally enjoyed life? If it wasn't, the hybrid woman felt very strongly that it likely should be, and if she was found to be a suitable candidate for Kingship, it would be very high on her "to-do" list.
She had known that a simple question like that wouldn't be the end of it, not in the slightest. She was rather greatful that Xiven was sticking to hypothetical situations - she just wasn't sure how great her stamina would be if she needed to physically prove herself. Her expression became somewhat thoughtful as she considered this additional scenario. Rhiannon had a mixed opinion of Aces born from a combination of her father, who saw them as garbage for the most part, and her mother, who saw them as people. Those mixed opinions combined with her time spent with Fluffy when she was young caused her to feel that they were, in fact, belongings and pets.
"Of course, this would take more care.[/b]" she replied easily, her ears twitching. "To shut down an operation like this one needs to plan carefully. After getting as much information out of the scum as I possibly could I would jail him to make sure word couldn't reach others of what we were planning to do. If he was a club, I would make sure to keep him in an empty space - I wouldn't want him sending a distance-message and ruining everything. My next step would be to assemble a team of people I trust very closely in order to shut their operation down. In all likelyhood, I would involve my family in this step and those who share my loyalty of yourself.[/b]" the woman stretched slightly. This was where she differed from her father. He could do the brute force missions, but not the planning.
"Our main goal would be to rescue all of the Aces and take out those who had stolen them to begin with, and then to locate their proper homes and families. That would be the difficult part, but I would keep higher-ups in my custody to get as much information about where they had come from as I possibly could.[/b]" her eyes flashed slightly as she spoke, memories of what had happened to Fluffy rising in the back of her mind. "If I felt it was needed, I have heard rumor that the current Diamond Queen is supportive of protecting Aces. If it became necissary, I would contact him for any assistance he might be willing to give us as we rehome our refugees.[/b]"

Xiven smiled. She was terribly happy about this. The feline's tail swished thoughtfully. "So your campaign to save the Aces was successful, and the Queen of Diamonds helped relocate the Aces whose owners couldn't be found. So you've returned to the Palace and you've been successful. That scenario has ended."
But there was still something she had to make sure of. Even though Rhiannon was her close friend, she had to make sure. She didn't want to be stabbed in the back later for making the wrong choice.
"My question is, if you could show your utmost loyalty to me, what would you do to show it? What would you be willing to do for me?" The feline's tail stopped swishing as she put her chin on her hands. She waited with a stone cold gaze for a reply. What would her future King be willing to do to prove her worth?

Rhiannon's tail began to wag once more as she watched Xiven's posture change and the smile appear on her face. She always got a sense of pride when she knew she'd done well at something, and she'd long thought that planning and strategizing were two of the things that she was the very best at. Hearing from another's mouth that she was indeed good at it proved to be quite an ego boost for the young woman, and a smile curled across her muzzle. She knew when she'd done a job well, and the relaxation that passed over her body was a clear sign of it.
Then she tensed again, ears flipping back slightly. This question caught her off-guard, somehow, and required much more thought than the previous had. Planning came naturally to her. Interpersonal relationships? Those she really had to work at.
Somehow, the answer still came to her, and she found herself glancing around the room. It was Xiven's private suite, and she knew that she was safe... But she would be willing to go quite a distance for her Queen. Slowly, without saying anything, she leapt out of her chair, walking to Xiven's side and bowing low, her ears scraping the ground as she did. "My loyalty to my Queen is of the upmost importance to me.[/b]" she said softly, almost guardedly, glancing around the room suspiciously. "If you asked it of me, I would arrange a coup to overthrow the current Queen of Hearts and put my own life and future in the Courts on the line. That is not to say that I believe you should... But if you asked it of me, I do believe that your reasoning would be worth the kind of risk that such a mission would carry.[/b]"

Xiven closed her eyes for a moment. She would never overthrow the current Queen who was more than capable than she was sure she would ever be. But this was proof enough of her new King's loyalty.
"Stand up," Xiven ordered, and once Rhiannon did, she waved her hand across the bog dweller's chest. A shining "K" had replaced the previous letter on her chest. "Congratulations, Your Highness. I'm glad to see you as one of my Kings."
The feline stood up, her smile wasn't particularly "happy." There was a slight note of disappointment visible. She honestly didn't want Rhi to go away as soon as she became a King, but it wasn't as if she could say no. Hiding her disappointment was the most difficult thing she had ever done. Honestly she should learn to hide her emotions better when family and friends were involved.
"I'm sorry to see you go. I wish you could stay a little longer."

Rhiannon's gaze wavered slighty and she bit her lip. She knew that her statement was a dangerous one, but it was - above all else - completely true. She just hoped that it never came to a situation that required something so dangerous. Her paws shook as she rose again, raising yellow eyes to the taller biped, her tail wagging a little hopefully and a little nervously. A part of her was terrified that she would be dismissed for speaking as she had, but her fears were for nothing.
"My Queen, it's... an honor to be selected as one of your Kings.[/b]" she said softly, practically glowing with pride as she looked up at the feline, her tail wagging much faster now. When she caught the sad look on her friend's face, however, she froze, her own expression falling slightly. She just looked... sad, and in that moment the hybrid knew that she had to do something to bring the pleased expression back to Xiven's face.
"I don't need to leave right away, if you would rather I stay for at least another day,[/b]" she said, nosing softly at the woman's hand, her tail wagging. After all, she was Xiven's King now, and she would be happy to stay at least long enough to wipe that sad look off the feline's face. Lior would understand, she was sure.

Xiven chided her self mentally. She was being a spoiled brat like she had been so many years ago. Was it all right to be so selfish, when someone else was involved. Especially when that someone was pregnant.
"If you don't mind. I know you have some place to go and someone to be with." Why else would she be leaving? Xiven mentally smacked herself. She was being a stupid jealous bitch, now wasn't she? "I'm sorry to be so selfish, it's just been a while since we've had a chance to talk."
Xiven smiled. It was a little more real than last time. Enough that Rhiannon wouldn't notice the slight disturbance in the feline's emotions. "Thank you so very much for keeping your promise, it means the world to me."
And it honestly did. She hadn't expected a childhood promise to hold fast.

It may have been selfish, but that was not for Rhiannon to decide - in fact, even if it was, she wouldn't have thought it as selfish at all. In Rhiannon's mind it was a perfectly reasonable thing to want more time with your friend, and she gently licked the feline's hand. "I don't mind at all,[/b]" she said a little softly. This was almost too good to be true. All her life she had idolized the feline, and now here she was, her King, and she could see that Xiven truely wanted her companionship. How could she not be utterly thrilled? "And you're right, we haven't. It would be wonderful to catch up.[/b]"
She shifted uncomfortably at the mention of "someone to be with", but didn't say anything for a moment. That was a promise that she simply couldn't break, and she hoped that nothing bad would happen there. "It's more of just... not wanting to have the stress of my family threatening to hunt down the man who 'did this to me',[/b]" she finally said. "I bet the hormones will make me a maniac, too, it'd be best to get away from the people I love before they get the best of me.[/b]" she laughed softly, grinning as she nudged Xiven. It was funny how, now that the quest was over with, she felt as comfortable around the cat as she always had.
"I wouldn't be a very good friend if I didn't, would I?[/b]" she said softly, rising on her hind legs slightly to give Xiven a soft kiss on the cheek. That was true. She couldn't respect herself if she didn't keep a promise like that.

Xiven watched as Rhi shifted uncomfortably. Apparently that was a subject she didn't want to touch. The feline refrained from sighing, she didn't want to make the situation uncomfortable now that Rhi had said she was willing to stay.
The kiss on the cheek made the feline blush. Really, physical touch from other people wasn't something she often received. Her mother had really been one to baby her in that way when she was younger and it just seemed to filter through to adulthood. Rhi kissing her was... well nice.
"I can't imagine you'd be any worse than me on my period," Xiven snorted. "But I can understand why you want to leave. I just hope everything goes smoothly."
Having children. She never expected Rhi to have children. It just seemed like a strange concept. She brushed it off. "It just seems that promises get lost...and I wish a simple "thank you" was enough to show my gratitude."

Rhiannon's mouth twitched slightly, and then her smile just widened, leaf nose wiggling delightedly. She couldn't see Xiven's blush, but she could feel the heat on her cheek. The feline clearly enjoyed the affection... As Rhiannon had hoped she would. She didn't kiss her again, instead gently nuzzling the Torque's cheek and neck, smiling happily to herself. She liked giving others pleasure of all kinds, and Xiven was no exception. If anything, seeing Xiven smile like that was better than anything else, especially with the duties that came with her new rank.
"As do I,[/b]" she said, laughing softly and shaking her head, settling in close to Xiven, posture protective. Her tail wagged slowly and lazily behind her. "I'll be staying with a friend, so everything should be fine. If you need anything from me, my parents know how to get ahold of me.[/b]" She licked the woman's cheek again, grinning reassuringly. "I don't know how much I'll be able to do.. But if there is something, rest assured, I will do whatever I can to help you.[/b]"
Rhiannon's ears flicked back slightly, and her smile faded slightly. "You don't need to prove your gratitude to me, my Queen.[/b]" she said, very softly. "I just want to spend the time I have left here by your side.[/b]" Her voice was filled with honesty. She was just... proud of herself, and knowing that Xiven was also proud? It was a moment that she wished she could store.
She planned to make the most of the following days.
