Katarina gave a low laugh, a sound her daughter had evidently inherited from this woman. "She's a trifle excitable at times," the woman observed with no sigh of apology in her voice. After all, the man had married her daughter; surely he understood at least part of her personality by now.
Dre happily began to rummage through the chests in the tent; it had downsized from the time they had a full family to fill it. Her hands paused in their motion and she gave a small sigh. She missed her siblings, especially here at home.
"Oh, I disagree, Drosty," the man said, plucking another two children off of his legs and tumbling them into their fellows. "Scat!" he said playfully and the children scattered with giggles. He turned and headed for the Kavanagh tent; if Dre was here, that's where she'd be.
Drostan cursed under his breath and scampered after the man. "She'll not fall to you now, Gilford," the Tulgey said almost pleasantly. "You can't get your hooks into her now."
Gil glanced down at the Ace, frowning at the confidence in the creature's tone.

He could do nothing but give a chuckle of his own at her comment.
Though, he was not quite sure if the term 'at times' was the correct statement for his wife. It seemed that more often that not she was excitable. Thankfully though, and probably more lucky so, it was something that he really enjoyed about her. Otherwise she was sure to drive someone mad at a rather quick rate. She had definitely been given that from her father.
"I grew up with Ira being one of my best friends." He said in way of explanation. Giving a nudge in the air with his chin toward the direction that Dre had gone, he continued. "I have to admit, I am a lucky fellow, that is for sure." He replied, giving a slight, fond smile.
Where is Scary? Juris asked as he peeked around the room.

Katarina's expression took on a bit of surprise. "You grew up with Ira? Exactly how old are you, Sir Ignatius?" Amusement lit her tone now.
Gilford paused as he reached the Kavanagh home, catching the low tilt of Katarina's voice inside the cabin and somebody moving in the tent. Following his instincts, he pulled open the tent and grinned as he spotted Dre with her back turned towards him.
Drostan darted quickly into the tent and the goat took that opportunity to step in as well. Dre glanced down as the Ace sidled up to her, giving him a small smile. "Hello, Drostan. I hope you didn't get into any trouble."
"He wouldn't if you'd keep a better eye on him."
Dierdre stiffened and slowly straightened before turning to eye the mountain goat disdainfully. "I thought the trash had already been taken out, Drostan. I see I was mistaken."
Gil grinned brightly. "I missed you, too, Dierdre. Why'd you leave without telling me?"

Iggy gave her a playful wink before replying with a straight face. "Considerably younger than your Ira but at the same time older than his newest bunch of siblings. I think if you work it out," he paused for a moment quickly doing calculations in his head, "I believe the two of us are only a few years apart at most."
. . . Now that was a strange thought.
Hearing the question ring in his mind he tilted his head to the side in thought. That was a good question. While he was not really all that concerned about the little Ace, at the same time he had not seen him since they had gotten out of the carriage. And while he might not really care all that much for the fellow male he had learned that Dre cared a great deal.
Standing up he gave his fur a pat back into place. "If you will excuse me, dear Kavanagh, I think I will go see if my wife needs any help."

Katarina rose as well. "Please, call me Katarina. I'll start some tea-- unless you would prefer some other beverage?" The falcon turned on her stove; either way they would need hot water.
"Perhaps because it's none of your business what I do, when I do it, or where I do it," she answered, turning her tone cool on purpose. Drostan growled under his breath at the goat. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a meal to attend to." She snatched up the items she needed to make their dinner, and stepped quickly forward.
Gilford moved into her path, opening his arms. "Now, now, don't be that way," he cajoled her lightly. "I haven't seen you for months."
"If I had my way you'd never see me again, now get out of my way, Gilford."
"My name sounds so sweet upon your honeyed tongue," the man crooned, quickly pushing into her bubble of space to slip his arms around her.
Dre gave a hiss of angry displeasure, trying to jerk back away when her arms were full and pinned against the man's chest. Drostan gave his own angry yell, "Release my mistress!" The Ace threw himself onto the goat, biting and scratching.

Giving a small stretch he gave a nod of his head. "I thank you, Katatrina. Most besides Dre and my father call me Iggy, should you prefer that name." He replied with the slightest of bows. "Tea will be wonderful. I shall return shortly,"
As he made his way closer to the tent he heard the murmur of voices, two recognizable and one distinctly not. Lengthening his stride he brought himself to his full height. While his height alone was not all that impressive the sheer size of him, something he had gained from his father, added an impressive impression.
Opening the flap he heard the last part of the stranger's comment. " . . . your honeyed tongue." Giving a smile that he was positive was not friendly, he made his way inside in time to see the fellow bipedal take his wife into his arms and Drostan lunge.
"Dear me, I hope I am not intruding upon anything." He greeted in the lowest tone he could with a growl tracing the edges, his arms crossed over his chest.

Gil muttered a curse at the Ace, especially since the Card was not only going for blood, he was evidently trying to maim the goat. Dre was fighting him as well, and her beak gaped open in a very unsubtle threat and then some stranger came barging into the tent as well. "This is not a circus," Gil growled out and sent the hybrid a dark look. "Get out.
Drostan was still shredding into the goat's leg, letting go in time to exclaim, "Ignatius!" This was the first and probably last time he would ever say the King's name with such relief.
"I'm going to remove your testicles if you don't release me this instant!" Dre hissed angrily, wings held tight and tense. Not only that, she was going to break his bloody neck. "Get this thing off of me!" she demanded of her husband.

"If I were you, I would do as the lady asks." He said in the coldest voice he could. Iggy did not take lightly to others touching Dre in any manner.
At the male's obnoxious comment to him he narrowed his eyes. So this male thought he was high and mighty did he? They would just have to see about that. Focusing on the male in front of him he called to mind one of his powers. Yes, this was sure to teach the thick head a lesson. If not well then, there was always more drastic methods that had more permanent results.
As the horns started to grow in a half circle at the back of the head and rise out to cover the crown and upper brow, he could only give a chuckle and grin in pleasure. The crown of sorts was just what the male needed.
Iggy also made a mental note to find a reward for the Ace.

The crown sprouted and Gilford looked confused. "What the he--" he couldn't finish his thought, he was suddenly completely off balance. His head drooped with the extra weight and he directed an angry-sounding curse at the man in the tent. His arms loosened enough that Dre could pull back, then aimed a knee right at the goat's groin.
With a yelp, Gil dropped to the ground. "You're lucky I don't cut off your head," the woman growled and stepped daintily over the prone body. "Thank you, Ignatius," she said haughtily. "Ignatius, this is Gilford. He grew up with me. Gilford, this is my husband, his highness Ignatius, the ambassador to the Court of Hearts."
The goat's eyes bulged.
Drostan sniffed and leapt over the man, taking care to plant a foot hard in the bloody mess of the goat's leg. Gil gave a small groan.

Looking down at the male he lofted an eyebrow. "It would be a nice addition to your collection." He murmured loud enough for all of them to hear. When his wife stepped over the male he was introduced to as Gilford, he gave his wife a deep bow, one arm going across his waist the other out behind him. Pulling up from the bow he offered one arm out toward her in an equally courtly manner.
"It was my pleasure." Looking down at the man he gave a sneer. "For you, however, I can not say that it was of the same. I hope that you learned your lesson though, having to hide a body can be too much trouble some days."
Turning back to his wife, the injured male completely ignored, he raised an eyebrow. "Do you need any help?" He asked in reference to carry anything. "Mother has some tea brewing now so we should not keep her waiting."
