Iggy gave a pout much like that which a child would put on when he found out he could not play with his favorite toy. Well then it simply meant that he would have to find another way to get back at the male for being a pin in the butt.
And to think he had almost let up on the crown of thorns. Not now though, that sheep was going to have to suffer through the three hours that they would last.
"A book?" He whispered more to himself than to anyone else around. That reply had startled him some. Were not all Ace's suppose to be simple, illiterate, workforce creatures? If Dre was telling the truth that Drostan could read well then . . .
He pushed the thoughts aside. That was something that he did not have to deal with till they got back to the Heart Court. Right now it was self-absorbed sheep over there who he had to deal with. "You happen to have any plans?" He whispered hopefully as he leaned over to give her shoulder a light kiss.

"Of course not," the woman swiftly protested, all innocence and sparkles. She tilted a hand to show the vial carefully marked 'Chili Powder'. Still, she would have to wait until the plates were served up; she wouldn't do that to her mother.
She soon had the meal finished and carefully added the extra ingredient to Gil's food and then served him with a sweet smile and rather threatening eyes.
Gil accepted it with a hardy thanks, however, and turned his attention quickly to the food. Dre handed Ignatius his bowl, then another for her mother, and, finally, one large dish under the table for Drostan. She smiled at him and then glanced up and cursed loudly.
"Gil, your leg is bleeding all over our floor!"
"Oh, yeah," he gave her a sheepish grin. "I blocked it and forgot about it."
Katarina leapt up and swiftly retrieved the first aid kit which she handed to her daughter with a disapproving glance. Dre accepted it with a slight flush and pulled it open so she could doctor the man's leg.

He gave a burst of laughter when Dre showed him her plan of action. His Feather was a priceless woman, that was for sure. Recovering he helped her with the last of the preparations for their meal. When everyone had been served he was about to dig into his food, extremely hungry for all that had gone on during the day when Dre discovered the sheep's injury.
Well if that was not rude enough. Not only had the sheep not left at their ever so gently hints that he was not welcomed, he was now proceeding to bleed all over the wood floors. If that was not a pain in the butt to clean up!
His dislike for the male increasing, impressively, by the minute he gave the male yet another more threatening glare. He had up to three more strikes and Juris would have a new playmate. As he took a big bite of his meal he mumbled to himself, something that may have vaguely sounded like the need for one to lick their own darn wounds and the need to riddance the world of fools.

Gil seemed uniformly unimpressed with Iggy's attitude, but that was probably because he was simply ignoring the fussy other man. As it was, he made happy comments about being cared for by two beautiful women.
Dre rolled her eyes and, beneath the table, Drostan did the same. The two obviously spent a great deal of time together. Katarina, however, seemed quite charmed by the man. She made a fuss over Gilford and he accepted it cheerfully, still letting Iggy stew about in his own juices if he so desire.
Dre finished binding the wound. "There! You're done. Be more careful with yourself, Gil. I'd hate to see you attacked for anything you didn't do." she sent him an arch look and would have bustled off but the goat nabbed her hand and gently brought it to his lips so he could press a kiss against it.
"You are kindness itself, Dierdre; thank you."
Dre lofted a brow and snatched her hand away. "If you'd like to repay me, clean up your mess."
"Dierdre Saoirse Kavanagh!" Her mother's shock was more than apparent.
Dre flushed and busied herself putting away the first aid kit.

The man was not quite sure how to handle the situation he currently was in. The feeling of jealous was something the man was not used to. There had hardly been a time in his life when he had had any need to feel jealous before. Envious, probably but definitely not jealous.
Wanting to growl when the other man took his Dre's hand in his and brought it to his lips, Iggy settled for digging his nails into the the wood of the table instead.
He was flabbergasted by Dre's mother though. Since Sheep-boy seemed to be a member of the tribe, and he was starting to think one of the favored ones at that - surely she should be warning the male away from her daughter?
When Dre returned from putting away the first aid kit and was free to sit down and eat, Iggy made sure that his claim on her was evident to the other male - from making sure they sat close together to the arm he wrapped around her waist.

"It's quite all right, maithre!" Gil said cheerfully, keeping his eyes quite carefully on the peregrine falcon rather than at the pair who seemed to hate his very guts. He stage-whispered to the woman, "I've heard that new marriages can be a bit rocky at times."
Drostan growled audibly from beneath the table and the goat swiftly shifted his legs a bit further from the Ace's reach. Dre gave a low snort under her breath that got another warning glance from her mother.
"Never you mind about their marriage, dear," Katarina said, patting Gil's hand lightly. "They're doing just fine." The woman then quite deliberately changed the subject. "We were thinking touring up in Tulgey next month," she informed her daughter and spouse pleasantly. "Are you interested in accompanying us?"
Dre's ears perked up and she instinctively let one of her feet creep to Drostan's side so she could pet him gently in a comforting manner.

Yep, it was none of his ^@$%ing business.
At Katarina's question if they would be joining them on their next tour Iggy felt kind of bad for the answer that they would have to give. "It would be an honor to join you but I am afraid that we will have to decline. There is Court business that I have to attend to and can not be away for too long. Though I suppose if Dre wanted to stay . . . " He trailed off.
With the condition of times as they were Iggy really could not afford to be away from his charge and responsibilities for too long a time. Not to mention that he had promised Ira they would be gone no longer than a month at most.
Though if it was something that Dre really wanted to do he supposed that there was not much he could do to prevent her from doing so. She could take care of herself and it would be with her family, though he would definitely prefer that she stay with him.

Dre could feel Gilford's interest in her answer, but she basically ignored that in lieu of focusing on her mother. She adored Katarina and would do all that she could to make her mother proud.
"Interested, of course," she smiled sadly at her mother. "But able to, no." Beneath the table Drostan relaxed and Dre carefully scratched at his back with a talon.
For his part, Drostan didn't actually want to return to his home region; all of his memories there were tainted by the death of his family at the paws of a crazed madbeast. No, he never wanted to return to Tulgey. He shuddered.
"Surely you can make time, though," Gil pressed. "Your maithre would so happy if you could come."
To this statement, Katarina could not argue, but she would never push her child, and Dre knew this very well. The avian hybrid sent Gil the same stare as before. "Maithre understands where my responsibilities lie. Perhaps you should spend some time learning the same thing."

Iggy gave a snort of agreement before focusing on finishing his meal. He had to admit, Dre was quite the cook. It was a good thing that she had captured him.
They were about halfway through their time to be spent with Dre's tribe before they had to head back. After the first bumpy day everything seemed to be settling in.
Gilford still seemed unable to comprehend just how much he was not wanted around and Iggy was able to handle his presence as long as he got to burn off some steam with Dre afterwords. Sanjaya had also been spotted hopping around once or twice. Things at the Heart Court also seemed to be going well enough, or as well as anything could go at a court. Which meant that either nothing was happening - at least nothing worth mentioning over a distance - or things were going down and they were not able to reach them.

With the constant annoyance of two unwanted would-be suitors, their time thus far was hardly idyllic. Still, Dre found herself horribly content. The time she spent with both her lovely mother and beloved husband was rather like a dream come true. If only they could get rid of their two pests, she thought almost idly, it would take care of everything.
Her hand slipped through Drostan's fur again and the grison shifted a little bit closer to his mistress. He enjoyed being in the Highlands; it represented a good time in his life. A time of recovery. It was harder when they travelled; most of the clan accepted that he was intelligent, even if was 'intelligent for an Ace', and here he felt he could talk and be more like himself without incident. Unlike the Courts where he was viewed as an annoyance at best and something to be rid of at worst.
Dre turned to glance towards Ignatius where she had installed him with a fishing pole and line and smiled happily.
