Tosiek didn't completely understand the reference to adult pants, but he was fairly certain he would just avoid them at all for now; skunk-type hindquarters didn't really encourage pant wearing of any kind.
He kept after the bat, however, giving a small nod of rueful agreement, the only thing he could think of that might be right in this situation. He was pleased, however, when the bat said he could stay until he wanted to go back. Ha! Fat chance of that one! The biggest problem would be staying free long enough for his parents to give up looking for him. That would be the real problem; his father was a bugger.
Food and drink? That quickly bore the question as to whether that would make him more of a nuisance or less. He need to not be a problem for Seth otherwise the man might throw him back, so to speak, regardless of his promise to let him stay.
"Your... ah... brother?" Tosiek replied, thinking that he had successfully covered any nervousness with nonchalance. He didn't especially want to find out about the dead sibling, but... Seth seemed eager to talk about it, and being a sympathetic ear would be good as well. Double blast. "Uhm, yeah, let's grab some food and you can tell me about. . . him."
At the very least, perhaps Tosi could learn Seth's preferred methods of killing and be on guard against them. That prospect cheered him up a bit.

Seth could feel the boy's hesitation as if it was a physical thing, and somewhere in the man's twisted little mind, it made him smile. It had been a long time that he had gone without the feeling of someone else being afraid of him. In the Glacier, fear and respect were two things that were inseperable. When he had first arrived in the Capital, he still got the fear - but with his life in the Hearts Court, that fear had faded away. Having it return was like seeing an old friend for the first time in years.
The bat led the child to a small stand that was selling sandwiches for cheap, asking Tosiek what he wanted and then ordering one for himself as well - pear and peach on a whole wheat bread, of course. When the food was done, they found a bench and Seth flopped onto it, taking a large bite of his meal. It was amazing, made more delicious only by his current company. He just hoped the boy didn't bolt.
He activated his ability, then began to speak.
"I was born an Ace, you see, and my brother was an 8.[/b]" he began, feeling the lie spin itself easily. How far could he take it? It was an amazing power, to be sure, one he wanted to abuse as much as he could. "My grandmother was a shaman woman who told me the only way I could gain his power would be to kill him and eat his heart. That was my only option to gain my mother's love, so..[/b]" he shrugged, taking another bite of his sandwich. "Can't say the taste was good, but here I am now.[/b]"

Tosiek had muttered out some combination of sandwich-- he wasn't entirely certain wot until he bit into it-- but in the end it didn't matter wot it was; he didn't taste it anymore.
First of all, an Ace? The bird had eyed the prominent 'J' on the bat's chest with a disbelieving glance before taking a second bite of his sandwich. Maybe Seth was full of it. . .
However, when told the way to break being an Ace, the avian hybrid spluttered in shock, choking out bits of bread and meat in coughing fit born of near heart failure.
"You ate his HEART?!" He stared up at the man in such amazement and shock, he felt his beak might just fall off. To eat. . . ugh! "You should have just stayed an Ace!" the mix exclaimed, wings flapping with emphasis of the statement. "Forget your mother! She's a *#&$% if she required you do that to get her love!"
Perhaps that wasn't the wisest thing to say about the momma of the man who just admitted to eating his brother's heart, but Tosiek wasn't entirely thinking clearly anymore.

The reaction was everything Seth could have dreamed it would be and more, bypassing his greatest dreams for the extent of the ability. Seth was feeling quite pleased that he had decided to take the time to actually talk to the kid when he'd approached. This hybrid was just turning out to be an absolute barrel of laughs and amusement, wasn't he? He just hoped that the boy didn't end up running back to his parents and send the police after him.
The chances of that seemed fairly slim for now at least, and he continued to eat his sandwich as if what he'd said was the most usual thing in the world. He licked his lips as he finished the last of the sandwich, then turned to look at Tosiek, the corner of his mouth lifted in a smirk. "Well, yeah, I probably should have.[/b]" he remarked, shaking his head slowly. "And you're right, she is a *#&$%. Anyway, she didn't even love me afterwards. She chased me out. That was the only good that came out of it, I was able to finally get out of that place.[/b]" He sighed deeply, expression turning somber.
"...It didn't even taste all that good,[/b]" He finished softly, looking back at the ground. He was working extremely hard to keep from laughing, but he could keep it up for a little longer, he was sure. This kid had spunk!

The bat took another, nonchalant bite of his sandwich and Tosiek felt the little he'd eaten threaten to return through a violently gross method. UGH! All he could see now-- in his mind's eye, at least-- was the bat taking a bite into a heart. A shudder shook all of his feathers and fur and he wanted so desperately to look away, but it was like a fire or a carriage accident; it was as though he had to watch Seth finish eating, the compulsion was simply too strong to resist. And the bat licked his lips and the desire to hurl returned vividly.
"If you'd stayed you may have ended up like her!" the hybrid finally choked out, but he still had chills and had to look away. He couldn't get rid of the mental image.
"...It didn't even taste all that good."
Tosiek couldn't believe his little skunk ears and he turned to stare at the bat again in absolute amazement. He had a full three seconds of shocked silence before he exploded again.
"Of course it didn't taste good!" He fairly screeched and any lack of audience they had before was wonderfully made up now by a series of gawkers trying to figure out just wot the child was freaking out about. They were in for a bit of a surprise. "You're not supposed to eat other people's hearts! And wot did you do, eat it raw?! You should have cooked it first!" His wings were flailing with his outrage. One tiny part of his brain was logging the people's reactions to his little fit; he'd need to know how to draw such a crowd later. For now, however, the main of his attention was focused on Seth. "At least have plausible deniability! But nnnooooo! Magic or not, there's a better way to deal with things other than eat your brother's freakin' heart!!!"
The crowd seemed to gasp in unison and Tosiek was suddenly recalled to where he was, even though he was still quivering in shock and outrage.

The bat shrugged off the little skunk hybrid's first comment. He was right, of course, but Seth felt no reason to tell him this. He just wondered how much more the boy could take... It was really time to pull out all of the stops and see just how messed up his brain could be. He was aware of how closely the boy was watching him eat and leaned back, long tongue slowly licking up every last trace of his meal, savoring the flavors and letting out a contented sigh. He turned back to Tosi, wings folded across his stomach, and smiled a little contemplatively.
"Yeah... Looking back on it, I really should have cooked it. It would have made it so much more tender, I'm sure. Maybe I could have stuffed it with something, too.[/b]" the man licked his lips slightly, seeming lost in his dreams of roasted organs. He couldn't let on to the fact that he couldn't stand the taste of meat so pictured instead the ripest canteloupe of the season, musky and sweet and juicy and perfect to sink his teeth into... The man could feel himself beginning to salivate. Perfect.
"After all, I stuffed his stomach with his kidneys and roasted those along with some garlic and his blood... That was absolutely divine, let me tell you.[/b]" he smacked his lips noisily, still imagining the sweet and fruity juice filling his mouth with each bite. "...Do you know of any nines or tens? I could really stand to raise my rank again.[/b]"
At this point, he really didn't care what the crowd thought of him. It was too much fun.

The avian/skunk hybrid was right back to staring at the man in something between shock and horror. His tail sunk down to plaster itself against his hind legs. He could totally throw up right now and he was rather tempted to do so. Whether or not he actually knew and Nines or Tens he certainly wouldn't be sending this man their way.
"There he is!" A low voice called out through the crowds.
Tosi's head shot up to stare towards the oncoming Diamond Guards. He tried to muster some sense of outrage at having been so easily found today, but, really, he thought it might be best for him to not spend much more time around this particular man.
"Unfortunately," he said, trying to keep his voice from shaking. "It appears I'm needed elsewhere. It was. . .uhm. . . a pleasure making your acquaintance." That was probably one of the best lies he'd gotten off all day.
"Tosiek," one of the Guards reached him. "Your parents are very worried."
Tosiek coughed under his breath. "Uhm. . . bye." He was swiftly escorted away.

Hah! So the boy did have a breaking point, and it appeared that the bat had finally managed to find it. Maybe it was the subtle caress of green beneath the pale cheek feathers, maybe it was the way he held himself... Regardless, the way Tosiek felt did not go missed by Seth, who felt himself grinning in a satisfied way. He was opening his mouth to say something more - though the idea wasn't really a great one, the man had decided that he wanted to see if he could make the young hybrid actually hurl - when a group of very fancy looking guards ran over.
He blinked, looking from Tosiek to the guards and then back to the boy, shrugging. "Eh, gotta do what we've gotta do,[/b]" he replied. So it looked like the bat wasn't the only one who was busily lying his head off.. And the boy had managed to make him believe it without the use of an ability. "Alright, kiddo. Maybe I'll see you around town someday and we can talk about that job.[/b]"
The grin that accompanied that was a wide one, full of teeth. Seth knew that the boy never wanted to see him again, but he could continue to have some fun. The rest of the afternoon would be set aside for pure relaxation.
