((I have an ability-boost of his now, but this is set before he has it. x3 No taking feathers. Eheh.))
Another shiver coursed through the feline's body, shaking him from his whiskers to his tail and making the material of the cloak shudder over his wings. He didn't hear the half-spoken, half-stuttered question as he came back to himself. What in the hills...?
Dark gold eyes opened and stared at the scene around him. Oh. Oh gods. Another one. Why did he keep 'waking up' to these nightmares? He swallowed hard around the sudden surge of bile in his throat as he took in the full extent of the duck's death. Blood absolutely painted the walls, the floor, the Corvie in front of him... and his own paw was liberally coated with it.
He raised one dark golden paw and stared at it in something akin to horrified fascination. It actually felt soaked by the red liquid and there was a bit of something beneath two of his claws, something pink-red... and fleshy... and...
To stop his empty stomach from heaving, he actually had to hunch and curl his body slightly. There would be no eating now, not with this all around him and the implications firm on his paw. What had he done?!

Mekare moved closer to her friend, tail beginning to curl protectively around the mouse as though that could protect her from this strange, strange creature before them. Her pink eyes were wide and staring, no fear in them at this moment, though it lurked below the surface of her calm demeanour. This was like Phyr's nightmares all over again. The fox would have spared a thought for her long, estranged sister, but she couldn't do so now.
There was nothing she could do for the duck now; it was well apparent he had moved on to whatever next world waited for Cards. So now they were faced with a stranger who had killed the already dying duck. She guessed that still fell under murder, even though it would have taken a miracle to save the Card whose throat had just been missing.
She sent the man before them a challenging glare, asking who he was without words.

Elyse was at a lost for what to do about this stranger. He still had not answered her question and it did not seem like a wise idea to go any closer to him.
Feeling Kare slide closer to her she took a deep breath - being careful not to inhale too much of the scent of blood, which appeared to be everywhere - she prepared herself mentally to take care of the situation at hand. It was going to take forever to clean up all of the mess, though that did not cloud her mind of the sorrow fact that someone had just died
Clenching her paws, her ivy bristling from her nerves she glared down at the creature.
"How dare you . . ." Her voice trailed off as she noticed something about him changed. Where there had previously been a tenseness about his body, it was now relaxed . . . and shivering.
Stepping forward, her healer side coming out mostly without thought, she placed a paw on his shoulder. "Are you okay?" She asked softly, not wanting to scare him. She really did not want him lashing out in fear or rage.

Only when the mouse spoke up did Lior come back to himself enough to realize that there were other people in the room who'd likely witnessed whatever just happened. His eyes snapped open and flicked up to see two women glaring at him, one a Villa canine and the other a Corvistowne map. Hills, what part of the city was he in now? It couldn't be too far from where he'd been before.
"Sorry," he whispered shakily, then cleared his throat before trying again. "I'm... very sorry. I wouldn't have done what I did if he wasn't already going to die, I know that much." And yet there was still so much that he didn't know and had to learn about this curse of his, and he couldn't remember large chunks of time to piece thoughts and actions together.
He flinched when she touched him as if he'd been struck, his overwrought mind and tense muscles reacting badly to the contact. "I'm fine!" he got out in a fast, high-pitched voice with an edge of panic. "Just fine. I'm sorry, I'm sorry... hills, I'm sorry." He began back towards the door, eyes flicking between the two of them. He needed to go, and quickly...

Kare tensed herself when Elyse stepped forward; the little mouse was bravely stepping up, but then her demeanour changed and the fox recognized it. With concern, she watched as Elyse stepped forward to reach out emotionally to the strange man. Her ears went back in unease and the Ville creature wondered if she should try to step in and keep the healer safe.
Just like that, however, the mouse's words seemed to wake the man, as though from some strange nightmare. Kare, at least, was unimpressed by his words-- not after seeing him rip out the throat of a perfect stranger. She did not trust him, but Elyse seemed willing to risk it. So the fox unwillingly hovered behind, ready to jump in-- somehow-- if the strange man attempted anything against her friend.
He was, however, retreating swiftly to the door and the fox, obviously made no attempt to stop him, though she wondered if they should try to stop him just to call the cops. Uncertain, she waited for Elyse to make a decision.

At his violent reaction to her touch she drew her hand away. Still confused about everything that was going on, she watched him for clues on how to continue.
"Easy there, easy" She said gently, hoping to release some of the tension that had gathered. She made no further movement to touch him, though her eyes continued to assess him to see if anything . . . else was wrong.
Everything that had just happened was till shocking. First a duck comes in here with his throat torn out - later when she thought back on it, it might occur to her that it would be something Eir would enjoy doing to someone. Next this strange male comes in and . . . It was a lot to take in.
As he backed up, she simply watched. While she wanted to keep him here to make sure he was okay she could never keep a patient here if that was not their will.

Even after his odd demeanor changed following the duck's death, the aura of dread still hung around Lior like a second skin and anyone too close to him, Elyse especially, would feel cold. His eyes continued to flick between the two of them, but focused more on the mouse after Kare showed no signs of true action and she stayed closer to him. The fact that their walls were now sprayed with blood, as were areas of his fur, only made the panic rise in the back of his throat.
The Corvistowneian didn't seem to be any sort of threat, but that could always change, especially if she called any sort of authority and he wasn't adequately able to explain himself. How could he possibly hope to do so? He couldn't. He needed to run, like he'd been doing for so long and would continue doing for as long as this curse dogged his steps.
And besides... he didn't like the look the canine was giving him at all. With a few quick, shallow breaths, he turned and bolted from the clinic.
((...his muse tends to be a little spazzy pre-Rhi. xD Sorry about the abrupt departure. He's just really skittish and still freaked out in this time period.))

He ran. That really wasn't that surprising. Kare's ears went back as she wondered about the strange character who just cut and ran from the little medical clinic. Perhaps they hadn't done the right thing by not calling the authorities or someone, at least. She guessed he must be some strange type of serial killer; perhaps he ripped out the duck's throat and then followed him in here when he ran. The idea was not encouraging.
She shook her head, her worried gaze going back to her friend. Kare might be quieter, but Elyse was definitely the more caring of the two, no matter what the fox's name sounded like.
Still, she moved up to her friend's side and nose the woman's shoulder gently. Worry was foremost in her pale pink eyes and she looked up at the Corvistowneian through the long locks of her mane.

Elyse watched as the stranger left just as quickly as he had come. Starring for a few moments she was knocked out of it when she felt her friend's nose nudge her shoulder.
Turning to face her she gave her friend a puzzled look. "This has been a very odd day." Pulling herself up to her full height she went about seeing to putting everything back to rights. She quickly got ahold of the person who would come and take the body away for burial. With that out of the way she turned back to her friend.
"Do you mind helping me clean up the mess?" She asked, her friend would know full well that she was under no obligation to help but that it would be greatly appreciated.
Grabbing up a bucket and two sponges she went to work cleaning up the blood.
"Strange day indeed." She murmured to herself shaking her head.
