Xiven paced. What else could she do in a situation like this. That bastard had Fluffy violated by some retarded probably lowly bred Ace and now she had found out the news from Temmin that Fluffy was indeed pregnant. And boy was Xiven furious. Two months worth of something akin to happiness and now she got the news that Fluffy was pregnant. Her Fluffy. She needed to talk to her mother, but she was taking her sweet time. What the hell was going on? She glanced over at Fluffy. She wouldn't understand any of this. How could she? It wasn't like she knew what was going on the majority of the time. She was just a pet... that's why this was ten times worse than anything else that could have happened. Shit! What was she going to do? Where was mom when she needed her the most. Xiven let out a small whimper. This was not okay.

Fluffy sat curled up in her bed in their room, watching her owner pace with worry in her dark eyes. Xiven had taken her to the doctor earlier that day and hadn't been happy with whatever the man told her. What did pregnant mean? She knew it had something to do with babies, but nobody had ever really explained the concept to her, or where babies came from, or any of that. She was just a pet. She didn't need to know that sort of thing. Except now the word pregnant had made Xiven terribly upset, so it must be something bad, and that scared the Ace a little bit. Was something bad going to happen to her? She'd put the night she was abducted out of her mind, relegating it to the unpleasant past, but she'd still had nightmares about waking up in that strange place and all those weird pets all around her, and especially the one who'd done something and hurt her. She still didn't understand all of that and her mistress hadn't deigned to explain it to her, so she remained in the dark. At least her calming scent kept her from being a nervous wreck herself, as she might have been otherwise at her owner's anger.

Peaches knocked on the door, and found it flung open before she could take her hand away. She was doubly surprised when she found that Xiven had grabbed her by the hand and pulled her in, slamming the door behind her. What the hell was going on? "Mom! You have to help me! Remember when Fluffy was kidnapped, she... she..." Xiven was doing her best not to hyperventilate. She needed to calm down and not want to explode. She needed to breath. She needed to take a deep breath and think clearly. "That bastard who stole Fluffy, he decided to try and... breed her. And now she's... pregnant."
There she said it it was out. Now mom could help her figure this giant mess out. "What?" Peaches squeaked. "But that's not right! She's your sister!" And with that Peaches slapped her hands across her mouth. Oh god, she just said what she thought she said. After years of keeping it to herself. Years of cover up and now it was out of the bag. "WHAT?" Xiven yelled at the top of her lungs.

Xiven's stress was almost a palpable thing and only worried Fluffy more. Could whatever it was really be that bad? She should probably pay attention to what was going on, but at the same time... she really didn't want to. If it was something so bad that her owner had to bring in her Mama Peaches then it was something the Ace couldn't do anything about and would be better to stay away from.
She breathed a sigh of relief when she heard knocking on the door and watched her mistress bolt to open it. Mama Peaches would help to make things better. She tucked her head deep into the pillows on her bed and just let things happen as they would. Whatever Xiven told her to do, she would do. The problem would be solved by the two of them. She was sure of it.
The smell of lavender and chamomile that practically permeated the fabric of her bed soothed her and lulled her into calmness, doubled by the fact that the pillows muffled some sound. She heard her owner yelling about something, but that was sometimes just how she dealt with problems. It would be fine.

"What do you mean Fluffy is my sister? What the hell are you talking about!" Xiven yelled. As she continued to speak her voice only got louder. She watched her mother cringe. She only felt slightly bad.
"It's... I.... what the hell was I supposed to do? Pravus would have killed her and Eldy as soon as he knew they existed. And who the hell was going to believe I gave birth to an Ace after giving birth to you?" Peaches could feel tears trickling down her face. She was such a bad mother after all. This was just more proof.
"You're... you can't be telling the truth. Fluffy's pregnant and she's my sister...." Xiven's ears pulled back as she could feel burning in her eyes. This wasn't right at all. This couldn't actually be happening.
"I... I'll take care of it. I can get rid of the children. Or child or whatever. I'll just get rid of it. And we can pretend this never happened."

Fluffy buried her head more deeply in the cushions as the yelling only escalated in scope and volume, Peaches's voice remaining muffled as Xiven's climbed the heights of audibility. She hated it when her owner yelled at her Mama Peaches. It usually meant the older cat wasn't solving things the way Xiven wanted them to be solved and it made her irritable and grouchy, even if she never took it out on her pet.
Eventually it got to the point where she couldn't block it out anymore and had to pull her head back out, fur ruffled and ears going back in a wince at the sudden volume increase. When she looked, she actually saw her mistress's eyes shining with tears and it worried her a great deal. She stayed low to the ground and slowly slunk over until she could rub against the backs of Xiven's legs, her tail tucked against her own and poofed out a little bit with stress. All the anxiety in the air made her shiver and the scent of her perfume wasn't working as well as it could, mostly because of the high ranks of both Peaches and Xiven.

Xiven almost jumped at Fluffy's touch. She hadn't noticed that she had gotten up from her bed and came over to try and comfort her master. With a small sigh, still choking back the tears, Xiven crouched down to wrap her arms around Fluffy's neck. She was too big for her to pickup properly now.
Peaches bit her bottom lip as she stared at the two. How could she have slipped so easily after years of covering up the truth. Was it the stress of being a grandmother because of an Ace? She shuddered at the thought. She needed to get rid of the evidence. "I swear to you I'll take care of this, Xiven. The baby or babies or whatever will go to a caring loving family." That was high paying.
"I don't care." Xiven muttered. Honestly, if it died she could care less. Things just seemed ten times worse now that she knew her pet was.... her sister. But Fluffy would always be a pet.... and that's why none of this made sense. Before Xiven knew it she was crying. So much for her strong will.
Peaches simply left the room. There was no point in lingering, she had work to do. Going through records and finding people who paid ridiculous prices for Aces. This was going to be a fun.

Fluffy started purring in both stress and relief when her mistress wrapped furry arms around her neck. She nudged the bipedal feline's chest and leaned against her, trying to cover her in the smell of the calming perfume and both give and receive comfort.
There was more talk of babies, so she knew that the association she'd made before had been correct. Whose babies were they talking about, though? Was she going to have babies, or Xiven? She had a feeling it was her. The prospect was... confusing. What would she do with a baby? They were cute when they weren't being loud. She hadn't met many of them before.
Once Xiven's Mama Peaches was gone, the Ace twisted her neck so that she could try to groom a little bit of the Queen's fur. She didn't like to do it in front of others, but sometimes it helped when she was crying and upset.

Xiven didn't feel any better despite Fluffy's attempts. Her mother had just kindly smacked her in the face with some horrible information. She was related to her pet. The pet that she cared for a great deal. The pet that had prevented her from doing anything stupid when she was younger. And now her pet was her sister and pregnant. In all technicality she was an aunt.
"Fluffy," Xiven choked out, "Do you know what "pregnant" means?" This was going down a path Xiven never thought it would. She never wanted to deal with this, which is why she had tried to keep Fluffy safe. Now....? That was all ruined.
Meanwhile Peaches was already making her way out of the palace. She had to contact a few people so she could find out the information she needed. It wouldn't be that difficult if she went to the shady places in the Highlands. What fun.

Fluffy paused in her grooming to turn back and stare up into Xiven's eyes. Was she supposed to know what pregnant meant? It was a word she'd heard, of course, but no one ever really bothered to explain things besides Xiven. Not that she asked... it wasn't 'right', an Ace asking people questions. She had much better manners than that. Her owner had taught her to be a polite, respectable little pet.
"Pregnant means babies?" she said hesitantly, the words more a question than an answer. It was the only connection she knew to make. She didn't associate it at all with whatever had happened to her during her kidnapping. "Babies are... okay," she added dubiously. She would reserve judgment until she'd met more of them.
The connection between her and Xiven and 'sister' completely passed over her head. She knew what a sister was, certainly, but she figured she must have misunderstood the conversatrion. Xiven wasn't her sister. She didn't have a sister, or a mama. She had an owner, and her owner's Mama Peaches.
