Heilyn took a guilty pleasure from him laying his head in her lap without invitation, although it did make her question the nature of their relationship. They were nothing more than client and employee who happened to screw each other on the side... right? Oh, and she did love that nip, as inappropriate as it was for what their relationship was supposed to be.... then again, she did nuzzle him just a bit ago...
Whatever.
She bent over him reaching for her bag on the ground as he spoke. She dug through it and found the basic medical supplies she'd used before on him. They were nothing complicated, just enough to take care of some scratches and bruises. Mostly for when they got to the Bog and so much as a paper cut could cause serious issues. She came back up, tools (including clean water) in hand, and lifted up Seth's wings to tend to his injuries.
"That doesn't sound half bad, actually. Those Yarrow girls are awfully attractive. However, I was informed by the Court magician, Bernard, that the toxins from each the Bog and the Gardens tend to not mix very well. I'm not sure if that applies to bodily fluids as well..." a thought passed through her mind, curious as to what a child from a mix of the two regions would turn out like. She was done with the cuts and moved on to massaging his wing muscles.
"However, I don't know if I could let you watch," she teased, bending down to nip an ear, "I'd be too tempted to have you join in." She continued working at his tired muscles, not saying anything for a little while. Their carriage was only pulled by one Horse, so it would probably take an extra day or two to reach their destination. She looked back down at him.
"A word of advice, though: when we get to the Bog, save that ability to create water for emergencies only. Clean water is nigh impossible to come by until you reach the city."

Ahh, the pampering that he had begun to recieve more than made up for his new position of "bodyguard". He shifted, making her task of cleaning and bandaging his wounds much easier on her, and giving him the chance to discretely touch her whereeeeeever he wanted. There was even a moment when he had an excuse to rest his head against her chest, looking up at her with a smile that couldn't be described as anything but deviousinnocent.
"A bad mix? Hrmm. Maybe you should ask him more when you get back.[/b]" he said, tone almost teasing. His expression then turned serious, or at least slightly more thoughtful. "You know Bernard? I've... heard of him. That he's got some amazing skills. I... was considering going to him and asking him for some training. Need to refine my magic.[/b]" he shrugged, looking away. That was an unexpected look into the bat's psyche.
He nodded, looking thoughtful for a moment. "Well. That sounds reasonable.[/b]" he rolled over, glancing at her. "Nice ability to have in case of emergency, huh?[/b]"

How cute she smirked at him as he rested his head on her chest. She dearly wished to show him her Human form, it being much more pleasant to look at and smell, but until he at least reached his bipedal it would be rude...
What the hell?! When did she care?!
Well, it would intimidate the driver and the Ace... she reasoned.. yes...
She shifted her positioning so he was lying on her stomach, head in her chest with her knees up, feet near is thighs and continued working on tired muscles. An ear twitched.
"I know him," she said, "We're actually pretty good friends. If I decide to keep you around by the time we get back to the Courts, I'll introduce you. He's an extremely busy man, though." She rubbed his head. She loved her head being massaged and couldn't imagine anyone not liking it.
"Honestly, it's one of the most useful abilities to have in that place, other than to be able to create heat. Also, I'll see if I can get some of the magicians from the Bog to be able to help you. More of us Bog Dwellers are learning the Outside Common tongue, so I might be able to find something useful to you."

Seth's eyes rolled shut and he let out a soft moan of pleasure as the coyote absently scratched his head, snuggling into the movements. It felt so damn good, and he was going to absorb every moment of it. His head was bursting with completely inappropriate thoughts, and he was able to push them aside and focus on the conversation at hand. He had never imagined it to be possible, but he was glad that Heilyn had joined the courts. He was even glad that she was a Heart.
He smiled.
"I'd appreciate it.[/b]" he replied, shifting slightly and folding his wings again. "It's always easier to make a good first impression with someone if you've got an in. ...You are on good terms with him, yeah? If you aren't, that might make things difficult for me and I'll do fine without your help.[/b]" the bat chuckled, eyes remaining closed.
"Fire's not my thing, really. Too much fur, it'd be a shame if I caught it on fire.[/b]" he gave her his most charming grin. "And I'm totally open for teaching them the more... Interesting parts of the common tongue. Things we all need to know before venturing out into the world, you understand.[/b]"

She'd been comfortable with people she hardly knew in the past. It rarely happened, but it still did. However, she'd always gone with the flow with it, accepting that rarity. She had never, as she did now, been uncomfortable with that comfort before. She wanted to shove him away and keep it professional, but she knew she would regret it the moment she did. What in the hell is wrong with me?!
She smiled inwardly at the obvious pleasure he took from the head massage and scratching. She laughed at the first comment.
"No, he and I are actually pretty close. He would take the time to listen to anybody I said was worth the time," she said as the other hand ran itself through that absolutely luxuriously thick Solandrian fur. "Actually, open flames in the Bog don't mix well with the Bog fumes. They actually cause very violent reactions. So instead of flame, most Hearts, being of the element of fire, learn to create a flameless heat instead of actual fire." She snickered.
"Yes, it's extremely necessary. I'm quite sure you have some rather inventive ones to teach, as well." She stopped petting him for a moment and looked out the window, watching the forest go by. It was quickly turning into night. The driver called to them.
"Yo! We're almost t' th' next stop!"
"Alright," she called back, not wanting him to say anything more 'just incase he wasn't heard the first time'. "Just so you know, Seth, I have one more danger of the Bog I forgot to warn you about. You will not receive a warm welcome from my father. His disgustingly over protective of me and will automatically assume -- and rightly so -- that we're screwing each other. Starting tomorrow I'm going to start teaching you some etiquette since, quite frankly, yours sucks. I am aware that the last thing you want to do is meet and appeal to the parent of someone who's really no more than a client, but don't worry, that doesn't mean anything. He's a member of the Bog Court, and all of them will be very curious to you, regardless of their relationship with me."

Seth nodded, the movement serving well to ease her fingers even deeper into the thick blue fur that topped his head. "That's good to hear. Wouldn't want to be caught in any surprise explosions, after all...[/b]" Though his words were doing a good job at hiding the fact, the Bat was feeling something that he couldn't place as she sat with her, almost some kind of regret. He had done a lot during the time that he had spent away from her, and now it seemed like wasted time, in a way. He had missed her, and it had only seemed natural at the time to seek out someone to fill that hole in his bed.
Why was he feeling regret now? They weren't together beyond an employer-employee relationship, and he had needs too. He was sure that she hadn't been completely "faithful", either. He squirmed in her lap, moving to catch one hand in his mouth, sucking slightly and then nipping at it. He wanted her to squirm as well, because it would give him a nice distraction from his troublesome and stupid thoughts.
Seth's ears flattened slightly at her talk of family and parents. They were always a bother of some kind, and an overprotective father was not on his list of "things-I'm-ok-with-protecting-Heilyn-from", especially when it was his own skin on the line. His lip curl was barely perceptable, and he looked up at her with an expression that simply screamed "Long-Suffering". "Right, right, I've gotta behave myself. No off-colored jokes, no fingering you in public, I get it. If you really feel my skills are so lacking that I need to learn some, I can deal with that. And curiosity I can deal with. You'd think I was the first Solandrian to run to the Capital from some of the looks I got.[/b]"

If anyone thought the Bog Dweller's fur was thick, clearly they had never touched a Solandrian like this. It actually took effort to get her fingers to touch his actual skin. She just wanted to curl up on top of him and fall asleep. Oh, the wondered how incredible it would feel against her human skin....
But she waited. She hadn't quite mastered toning down her Aura, and had found that Aces especially were so terrified of her, they ran screaming and pissing themselves. Not something that would exactly behoove them at this moment.
She couldn't help but shiver as he nipped at her fingers. Dammit. She hated it, those involuntary reactions. But it just felt so good... it caused her to relax even further. She nosed at his ear and spoke softly to him
"Now, now," her tongue played at the edge of his ear, from the base to the tip, ending the motion in a nip, "No need to get all upset. I've got dear ol' Dad wrapped around my finger. He won't give you too much trouble so long as I'm around to glare him down." She continued to rub his head as she put her muzzle back into the fur on his head. She shifted, moving her mask to stop it from digging into her side as she chuckled.
"You think you got weird looks?" She wished they could stay like this longer, just... close. Intimate without the sex, but the carriage very soon came to a stop. for the better, I suppose, she thought with a sigh, patting Seth to get up so she could, It would be tragic if this became any more than what is was...
However, what this was, she couldn't say. She gathered her things and stepped out, looking over the tiny rest stop that was almost like a village. The entire community's economy catered to and completely dependent on travelers.
"Did you wanna look around a little, or check in to our room first?" Something smelled good nearby...

"I hope. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, or like a father who finds out his precious girl has been having sex with strange and hairy men.[/b]" the bat murmured. He liked the position they were in, and his red eyes moved so that he was staring up at the bottom of her jaw. "Don't get too comfortable, darlin'. I'm sure we'll get there as soon as you do.[/b]" and I don't want this to end too soon.
Those thoughts weren't welcome, and he was glad he had the self control to keep himself from speaking them out loud. The conversation was nice, and it did give him a better idea of who the woman was... She was showing herself off in strange but comforting ways, and he was almost alarmed to find himself getting quite comfortable with her.
Much as the coyote had done, Seth found himself making excuses as to why it was fine by him that they had to get out of their comfortable positions, as sad as he was to lose the nosing, nibbling, and stroking. She was just his employer. His job was to protect her, and by doing the things he was prone to doing and thinking about doing, he was putting her at risk... Wasn't he?
It was best for things to just rest as they were.
"I'd like to look around,[/b]" the man commented as he stepped out of the carriage, hefting his belongings over one shoulder as he surveyed the area. His chest ached, but it felt good to stretch. "Get a feel for the locals, and see what that smell is. You hungry?[/b]"

"I didn't think I was, but that smell is making me feel otherwise," she smirked down at the Bat, "Let's go find it. Lemme just deal with the Driver and the Ace first." Huh, she never bothered to learn their names. Ah, well. She went to go speak with the Driver. There was some pointing and nodding and the Driver went off. She returned to Seth.
"That man knows this place pretty well. We're going to meet him at the stables of the inn. I told him 3 hours, but we'll come back whenever the hell we feel like it. Damn, whatever that smell is sounds a hell of a lot better than the stuff we packed for the road..."
They wandered around the Bazaar for a bit when a man called from a booth.
" 'EY thar, youn' ladeh! Dat's eh purdy t'ing ya got on der... 'Ow much ya willin' t' let i' go fur?" Heilyn perked up and growled, thinking the man meant her mask. No way in HELL would she EVER... oh, the necklace. She had completely forgotten she had it on. She touched it, her appearance became soft. It might fool a stranger, but Seth would know it was pure bullshit.
"...well, I... it was a gift," she blushed slightly and indicated in Seth's direction with her eyes, "but he wouldn't mind if we were able to get a good meal... but but, oh..." A hand went in front of her face, fingertips gently touching her muzzle as they curled under her hand, eyes averted downward, one knee turned inward to a slight pigeon toe look and her tail dropped. She was getting better at pretending she was innocent and sweet.
"Ah, senitmental valah, eh? ....thems is some weird eyes, girl..." he shook himself, "'Ow 'bout we strike a deal, eh? A trinket's nice, bu' a night t' r'member atta ni'e place t' stay... honeymoon...?" this man really thought he was slick, and Heilyn let him think it letting out a small squeaking noise, turning her head away and using that hand to cover her face more. Although she conveniently let the man see her blush. He smiled, looking forward to taking this woman sideways on a deal, but that Solandrian.... he'd heard of those... What was a sweet, innocent little thing like that doing with one of those violent...?
She looked over his selection of things to buy. He had steel. Steel she could bribe a lot of people with in the Bog. Steel was rare and expensive there and all she had to do to get it was pawn off some decent looking piece of jewelery which was nothing but trash to Heilyn in comparison.
