Behind the mask, the bat grinned broadly, a pleased flush coloring the insides of his ears. What else could he do, when presented with such a rare display of affection, especially from the normally-reserved woman? The grin was interrupted by a small sound of pleasure as her teeth managed to work their way through the thick fur, grazing against such sensitive skin~ It felt absolutely heavenly, and he let out a quiet growl of pleasure as he pulled her tightly against himself, wishing more than anything that he could remove that god-forsaken mask...
Ah, well. He was sure his hands would serve as a reasonable substitute for the time being.
---
Of course, life couldn't be all relaxation and sex, otherwise not a damn thing would get done. All the same, Seth couldn't help but have trouble working up any excitement for the adventure Heilyn had planned for him today: Meeting her father. It was an event that the man had been dreading since they'd arrived in the Bog, but the news of the coyote's... condition had helped to press it out of his mind.
Until now, when it was practically staring him in the face, ready to punch his snout in for even standing at his daughter's side.
As a bodyguard, however, he would take the punch, grin, and ask for another if it meant that he could stay with her for the time being. He glanced at the woman, ears flicking back slightly, an outward sign of his discomfort. "We ready, Lyn?[/b]"

[lol, delirious posting XD ]
She sensed her gratitude was being well received on Seth's end and went with the slight change in mood, allowing her hands to roam instead of just holding him in one place.
Shame the mask had to stay on, but the man was quite versatile and clever when it came to physical things.
~~
Well, so much for being clean. Ah well, better than poisonous chaffing mud, anyway. Besides, it was much more fun to clean with tongues afterward, anyway. And as borderline Mature Board as that last sentence was, it wouldn't change the fact they were meeting Heilyn's paranoid, over-protective father absolutely reeking of each other.
Honestly? After finding out she was pregnant and that absolutely incredible gift he'd given her, Dad could go stuff it.
She felt herself shiver slightly, thinking of the driftwood dragonfly. Why would he, a bodyguard, go out of his way to get her, his employer, something so unspeakably wonderful and unique. It spoke volumes that he, a foreigner, got her a gift keeping her cultural aesthetics in mind.
What did it mean...? It thrilled and confused her.
~~
In his office, a short Wolf paced furiously. He was waiting anxiously for the return of his daughter, whom he'd not seen in over a year. And yet... he was furious. She'd returned with a stranger, a foreigner, as her bodyguard. She'd sent word ahead, yes, that she'd bring a guinea pig to test their new food purification results on.... but he saw the... creature she'd brought to their home.
Huge, burly, and absolutely repulsive. How could she possibly think it was wise to spend so much time alone with a man who could snap her in half if he chose? His little girl--
"<Yanno, if you keep pacing like that, you'll have to replace this carpet, too, and it's not exactly like to pick the cheap shit to line your floor, either,>" spoke up a Wolf in his Animal form from the corner.
"<No one asked your opinion, Alphonse,>" Odhran snapped at his brother, "<Aren't you a little past your prime to be ignoring your place?>" Alphonse yawned and stretched his Animal form as far as it could comfortably go. Granted, he was quite limber for someone his age, but he was still old, and his front right limb couldn't expand past a 90 degree bend, due to a past injury. His suit and rank, Ace of Diamonds, could clearly bee seen.
"<I am well aware of my status as a respected veteran, thank you. If I ever start losing my memory, I'll let you know to start reminding me,>" replied the younger brother in a most snarky manner. Odhran merely growled. Odhran's newest personal bodyguard, a young boy, roughly 14 or so, 10 of Spades and born in his human form, stood quietly in the corner never making a sound. His mask worn at the side of his head, the symbol of a Fianna...
"<Just don't forget what Heilyn told us of these Outsiders and hold your tongue. This foreigner is quite large-->" and as much as his brother irritated him sometimes, he would hate to lose his brother. He would never forget how he and Heilyn were the only ones by his side when--
A knock at the door jolted Odhran from his wanderings into a painful past.
"<Dad, I'm here.>" he immediately ran to open the door and out of habit, looked down expecting her Animal form. Eyes beginning to shine, his gaze snapped up to her face, and he started as if to embrace her... when his eyes fell on something... standing behind his beloved little girl. Something tall and blue... A sneer twitched its way onto his face as he glared down the Solandrian.
"Seth, this short, bad-tempered oaf is my father, His Highness Odhran. <Dad, this is Seth, my bodyguard. You'll do well to behave yourself,>" she said, pushing her way into the room.

Seth's eyes lingered on Heilyn for a moment, dancing across the fur that covered her back. He held his bipedal form even as she assumed animal form, not a sign of superiority but one of his intent to defend her to the best of his ability. Right now, with her filling his vision, however, that was as far from his mind as anything. In the soft light of the palace her fur shone with all the colors of the bog, rainbows dancing across normally-dull fur. It was as if she seemed to shine from the inside as well, and it took all his self-restraint not to reach out and touch it. Heilyn - his Heilyn? was he even bold enough to think that? - was so damned beautiful, how could he not?
The bat was not known for restraint, and as she went for the door, he reached out for her, one broad hand lightly running along her back, nails tracing through the thick fur and down to the skin, the small touch serving as a reminder of his presence. At least, that was what he hoped.
Then the door was opened, and Seth found himself having to look down to look at the wolf. Well, this was new. Being stared down by someone shorter than you... Normally, Seth would laugh, but he decided that it would be more appropriate to stifle that urge and gave the man a low bow, keeping his hand resting on Heilyn's back. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Highness.[/b]" the bat returned, sounding unusually stiff. Such formalities were like ice on his tongue, slippery and hard to control with their unfamiliarity. "I offer my sincerest thanks, for the grand hospitality that has been presented to me since my arrival here.[/b]" he glanced down at Heilyn, expression one questioning. He just hoped he hadn't offended the man.

Heilyn felt muscles tighten under the skin the bat touched. It wasn't out of disgust, but just the opposite. A suppressed shiver branched out from the touch as it traveled down her back. She had no idea what the hell he'd done to her, but she couldn't get him out of her mind. Her head curved behind her so that her tongue could meet his hand in a loving gesture. They'd left her room no too long ago, but she longed for his touch once again. The Ace in the corner watched with interest as Seth spoke. Odhran's eyes just narrowed, then he turned back to Heilyn. A slender human hand of his stroked the side of Heilyn's head.
"<I trust your trip was at least moderately comfortable?>" he asked, completely ignoring Seth. He couldn't help be feel nervous and especially hateful of the man she traveled here with. Out of anxiety, he went to see the doctor's report immediately on hir little girl upon their return. He already knew she was pregnant, and he was...unsure how to handle it.
"It was well enough," she responded, trying to encourage her father to speak to Seth could understand. "Seth did a wonderful job protecting me and keeping me well." His grip noticeably tightened at these words, though he continued to ignore Seth.

Seth, while not the smartest man around, was nothing if not observant. It came in both of his job descriptions, and he was damn good at what he did. He could tell very well that he was being ignored. Speaking in a language which he had no understanding of whatsoever was a dead givaway of that fact, and he was grateful when Heilyn made an attempt to steer the conversation back to an area that he could at least begin to comprehend. His expression softened slightly, and he moved a little closer to the woman, feeling the need for... something.
At least her father was ignoring him. It was better than the alternative - an enraged King just wasn't something the bat wanted to encounter, especially if that King was also a father. In terms of sheer terror, the two were very close in his mind.
"It's just my job,[/b]" the man replied, tone softening as his eyes went from her father to the Ace sprawled in the corner. His brows furrowed slightly, but he quickly smoothed his expression over. The Ace didn't look like a pet... So what the hell was it doing here?

Alphonse rolled on to his belly and watched the newcomer with rapt interest. That mohawk was incredible! And he... was quite large... very bulky. Odhran had shared with him that Heilyn was pregnant, which added to Al's curiosity of the foreigner. Was he...? Heilyn always did prefer the bookish, magician sorts, but that certainly didn't mean she didn't restrict herself. He was so curious! He wanted to know about the Outside from a real Outsider! But he knew Aces were looked down on even more so on the Outside than here...
He slowly got up and hobbled on his three good legs to Heilyn and rubbed his head on her leg. It was so good to see his niece again. God, a bipedal Jack... he remembered when she was just a little 3 in her Animal form, beating up the other kids and destroying expensive furniture... Heilyn knelt down and gave him a hug, both canines' tails wagging, though his more than hers.
"<Is that so?>" spoke Odhran again, continuing his disrespect of Seth. Heilyn broke the hug as Alphonse made a strange face an sniffed Heilyn. She smelled... foreign. "<Will he show you the same protection through your pregnancy?>" Heilyn stiffened. Well, fuck. He knew.
"He has agreed to continue his employment, yes," Alphonse was sniffing Seth now, but stayed near Heilyn while doing so. What an interesting scent the man had... "Are we going to play nice, father, or are you just going to stand their and be critical?"
Odhran's eyes narrowed at Seth. Odhran, himself, had boinked every body guard he'd ever had (save for the prepubescent boy that was his current), and was automatically suspicious of his intentions. THESE THINGS RUN IN THE FAMILY, DON'T YOU KNOW. Heilyn took Seth's hand and led him to a chair, offering him the seat... in a room that didn't belong to her. Alphonse followed closely behind her, hobbling along.
[We can fast forward through them catching up and talking court business. P: That's all Heilyn's business and is unimportant.]

Seth almost cringed to himself at the exchange that went on between Heilyn and her father. It was easy to see that the tensions were only getting more potent, and it didn't take much imagination for the bat to figure out what was at their core. His ears flicked back slightly, and in that moment he was almost able to forget the strangeness of the Ace that was acting as if he owned the place. When Heilyn gave it a hug... Seth only felt his confusion grow. What the hell was going on here?
He could feel his fur beginning to bristle, and when he raised his head to find the short man literally staring him down, Seth's ears flattened so that they were practically against his neck. This whole... situation was getting to the man, and there was only so much he could do to keep fully under control.
He relaxed almost immediately as Heilyn took his hand, and his eyes met hers. "<Thank you,[/b]>" he muttered in his own native tongue, knowing she was smart enough to at least catch the basis of what he was saying. He accepted the seat as gracefully as he could manage, and listened to what was to him an entirely one-sided conversation. He would just have to piece together the full details from Heilyn's words.
His gaze fell once more on the Ace, which was seeming to inspect him closely. "...Can I help you with anything?[/b]"

Odhran was practically growling at the Bat. How DARE he think himself worthy to even so much as look at his daughter! He continued to stare down the Bat with utmost hate in his eyes. Heilyn was just getting annoyed at the whole ordeal. Honestly, couldn't she do anything without the man freaking out?
Alphonse, however, was elated that the man spoke to him directly! He was getting a touch nervous that tensions were rising in the way that they were...
"Not'n in p'rtic'lar," he said in a heavy accent. His voice had a deep rumble to it, "'tis eh plehsah t' meetcheh, sir." He had to keep his sentences simple as it had been a very long time since he'd helped Heilyn study the language. Heilyn then promptly sat on Seth's lap. She knew of his feelings about Aces, and she cared very much for her Uncle. she cleared her throat.
"Seth, this is Alphonse," she smirked. Oh, she would've killed to see the look on his face, "...my Uncle. <That, perhaps, was not the wisest of moves, Uncle.>" He only shrugged in response. C'est le vie.
"<Maybe my next life will be a little more interesting.>"

The Solandrian's hair began to bristle once again. The common language was not his first, and in all honesty, he'd only been fluent in it for a few years. Listening to such heavily accented words somehow irritated him, and his eyes fell upon the heavily-scarred wolf. He was clearly a fighter, and he spoke (however poorly he spoke the common tongue, he must have at least some skill in the Bog-language), which was more than he'd ever seen of most Aces. He had opened his mouth to respond when Heilyn took her place in his lap, and the slightly irritated look on his face simply melted away.
"Alphonse.[/b]" Seth replied, settling his arms around the woman's middle, lightly running his nails through the fur of her stomach. Things were starting to fall into place, even if only slightly. "Heilyn has told me quite a bit about you. I'm honored to meet a respected warrior such as yourself.[/b]" He glanced over Heilyn's head to dare the wrath of her father once more. Yep, still looked completely pissed off. This whole situation was... Something.
