It was quite obvious to Nerius that this questioning could go on forever; a simple and redundant "we'll see/ oh, yes we will" conversation. The idea didn't appeal to him, though testing the curious canine did. But it was the dog's choice now; he could either move his queen, lunge at Nerius, thereby starting the challenge. Or he could move his pawn, putting off such an altercation 'til it best suited him. The canine's favor seemed to be of the latter as he turned and addressed the large, walking disaster next to him. But Nerius kept his wits about him just in case the dog's mind changed.
For now, though, the focus was on the lumbering giant who had so nearly ended the vermin's existence. Thus far, she seemed distant, quiet, shy, clumsy, though that barely needed to be said. As she was hunched over, the mouse's mind couldn't help but once again compare her to a ghoul, knwoing full well that this was prejudiced and unfair but doing it nonetheless.
She seemed so broken and down, Nerius could hardly contain his interest at what might come out of the mouth connected to such a beast. Would it be in contrast, say, an angelic voice worthy of opera? Or instead, would it clearly match the downtrodden form it held in depth and tone? His feathered tail flicked back and forth in curiousity as shallow green eyes stared upwards toward the giant.

Barely paying attention now to the two squabbling creatures in front of her, the mouse and the canid, she hunkered back onto her haunches and lifted up one paw from the ground so as to allow her head a little bit more free movement. A shake of her head caused her violet tresses to move away from her eyes, revealing a twin set of purple orbs that gleamed with a hidden hope that she would have never spoken of.
Muscles flexed in her muzzle as she considered the words of the Selkian, the male with confidence and beauty. He was so quick to snap at the rodent, but to her his tone changed drastically. It seemed he was not playing with her but instead purely intrigued. It was true, Haret had been the one following him... Yet here she sat, silent and feeling sorry for herself.
What was she supposed to say? I wanted to talk to you, I think you are gorgeous, let's make babies?!
"I have no explanation for my actions, I am afraid." she replied with a tender voice, meek and very obviously feminine. The voice you almost expected to hear coming from her maw. "I saw you and I must admit, I do not know many. Of course..." She paused and thought about what she was about to own up to, and blinked languidly. "Of course, I live in Torquehelm. Not many from out of region come to visit, not many who live there dare to leave."
There. She had said it. Curiosity had led her straight to him, and there was no way out of her story now. Truthfully it HAD been curiousity that had caused her to follow him and interrupt his hunt. She hadn't mean to become a pest, however.
"If you would, excuse me and I will let you resume your routine. I apologize for keeping your stomach waiting for a meal."
Returning to her normal hunched position, she hung her head between her forelegs and began to walk away from the other two. Enough of a nuisance for today. Enough. Time to go find something else more constructive-- or destructive, to do.

[. O.O.C. - -GIGGLES at Gen- “Let’s make babies!? LMFAO .]
[. I.C. .]
Daetien’s brow furrowed at the rodent when he said nothing in reply, simply peered up at him with those characteristic Selkie blue eyes. He was so close to snarling and taking a dive at the small white and blue creature that he could nearly taste it but he didn’t make a move. Overly large paws remained planted firmly in the terra, his tail still curled about them as if to keep them warm, though the large thickly furred canine was far from cold. When the rodent stayed silent Daetien simply rolled his eyes humorously and grinned. “Another time then?” It was all in good fun, but just as the mouse wanted to test him in a challenge, Daetien wanted to put the rodent’s wits and skill to the test as well.
Leaving it at that Daetien turned his muzzle a bit to look at the large, though smaller than himself, canine next to him with curiosity once more. She seemed to be so depressed, so down and out, like she would have done nearly anything to just jump from a high elevation and careen to the earth ending it all once and for all. Her melancholy nature concerned Daetien as he gazed toward her, his expression nearly asking silently “What can I do?” When her words at last came to him Daetien noted the sadness in her voice. He didn’t require any explanations, he was quite accustomed to running into others while he was out and about. But to have her following him without speaking, that was something new and… stalkerish.
Still his uneven tracked her words in his mind, listening to the others that came shortly after the first sentence had been spilled from her once tress covered muzzle. Daetien looked into her eyes, questioning them softly while he noted their beautiful amethyst color. So beautiful, yet so sullen and sad. It almost made his heart ache for her. What could have caused this beautiful misshapen creature to feel so downtrodden? Torquehelm, aye? That explained it a bit, but he still didn’t feel that was the only reason for her pain. Daetien sighed softly, turning to the rodent for a split second, giving him a sort of “Say something to her?” gaze. Looking back to her as she spoke yet again he couldn’t help but feel saddned. He didn’t want her to go.
All thoughts of a meal had since left him as he’d bickered with the mouse and mused over her comings and goings, wondering where her depressed nature had come from. He didn’t care to eat now and if he had he probably would have been sick. There was nothing wrong with her in his eyes and if anyone else had a problem with her or her appearance he’d gladly bite their head off. Once more his chivalrous protective nature getting the best of him. As she moved off in silence Daetien called out to her. “Please, wait a moment!” He didn’t want it to end like that, he didn’t even know her name. As a matter of fact, he didn’t know either of their names. Daetien looked back to the rodent quickly before he spoke again. “For future reference, my name is Daetien.” He left it at that. He could have said “…And I am not going to eat you.” But his mind still wanted to test the wits of the mouse. Turning back to the canine he waited to see if she would respond.
