Othello's first thought was along the line's of "What Table" since his vision in one eye wasn't lining up with the other. When this happened he was left utterly confuse, and Sid's voice didn't help. Othello stood there in silence for a moment, closing one eye to see if he could see the table.
Once he saw a table went low to the ground, and did his best to slide on the floor. Unfortunately he got snagged on the actual table, which was slightly different from the table he was seeing. He whimpered as he dropped the wooden sword, it scratching against his teeth. In reaction he shot up, smacking his head on one of the legs.
He flopped to the floor, eyes closed and watering. In the words of one of his brothers he muttered, "Fail." He opened his one eye to see if he was under the table or not.
Of course, he wasn't but he couldn't really tell.
His ears twitched as he heard the footsteps come closer, and faster now. This wasn't going to end well.

Sid's wings fluttered unhappily as poor Othello seemed to have even more problems controlling his body as Sid himself occasionally had. He had to protect his shipmate!
"A good captain alwayth goeth down with hith thip!" he hollered at the top of his lungs, and charged straight for the chef without a qualm. "Ooodalaaaley!"
The woman stared in surprise when she was charged, instantly taking in the pirate gear the two boys were decked out with. She didn't know Othello that well, but she certainly knew Sid.
"Oh, no!" she cried in alarm, turning her head to wink at her second in command. The man replied with a thin lipped smile. He wasn't as accommodating of the youngsters' games in the kitchen. "We are beset by pirates! I hope they don't discover the booty hidden in the pantry and make a daring escape! Surely the Guards will be here soon to save us!"
Sid lit up at her words, skidding to a stop before the two to brandish his weapon threateningly. "Othello! Come hold our hothtageth bay! I'll retrieve the booty!"

Othello struggled to get up, but managed to stand after a bit of work. The boy raised an eyebrow at the order, since he couldn't see what was going on. He could only really hear it.
However, he did hear the comment about holding the prisoners at bay. Okay. He could do that. He trotted over to where Sid's voice was, making careful not to run into the table or anything. It was a delicate process navigating in a room he couldn't see, but for once he managed without a hitch.
Sitting where Sid instructed he looked up at the people he was supposed to be seeing. He wasn't very good at being menacing, to be perfectly honest. He just hoped that the booty could be retrieved quickly so they could run off and go and eat cookies. His ears swiveled as he listened to the happenings.

As soon as Othello took up his post, Sid was off like a rocket, calling over his shoulder, "Make thure the Guardth don't get uth!" His cloven hooves clattered along the kitchen floor as the workers pretended quite ingenuously to not even see the boy. He crept into the pantry and spotted his quarry: oho, the orange bin awaited plundering!
He rummaged within and pulled out two small bags filled with cookies. The booty! He had to hold them delicately or his fangs would pierce the bags. He held his head up and at an oddly awkward angle and carefully made his way back to where Othello was quite wonderfully keeping the prisoners still.
"Oh, my," he heard Perli say to her second-in-command as she looked down at Othello. "What a fierce pirate! I do hope his captain returns and keeps us from real harm!"
Sid dropped the bags as he protested, "Othello wouldn't actually hurt you, Perli. But he doeth have REALLY cool teeth. Oh!" He suddenly remembered the game. "Ohoho, rum! We're off to kill the bettyth!" He scooped up the bags and mumbled around them for Othello to come; they were escaping with the booty!

Othello couldn't help but giggle at the comment, and blush a bit under his fur. It was nice to play like this! He needed to make friends more often! His tail wagged as he listened to the things going on around him.
Sid really was cool.
Othello perked at Sid's mumbled comment to leave. The boy quickly skitter to follow the "Captain." He hurried behind him, really hoping that he wouldn't run into the other boy.
This really was an adventure. He never got a chance to do anything like this when his Mommy was around. She was so protective of him he sometimes felt like he was being smothered. Even if he did run into things and hurt himself it was still fun!
"Tho what now?" Othello asked cheerfully as he stumbled a bit, righting himself as they went. He didn't exactly know that pirate ninjas did once they caught their booty.

Sid was trotting quite happily down the hall, easily making enough noise for Othello to be able to follow him by sound alone, and he glanced proudly back at his friend. They were a good team! This was even better than when he played with Levi; Levi always wanted to take charge, even when he wasn't the captain.
"We have to find thomewhere thafe to ekthamine our plunder," Sid explained carefully managing to only drop one of the bags. He paused to scoop it back up quickly, but was stopped long enough for Othello to catch up to him; unless the boy realized that the winged Marshdweller had paused. Still, Sid's mind was already elsewhere and his feet remained stopped despite the fact that he had both halves of the booty again. He would suggest the library for their booty examination, however, since there were plenty of really good nooks and crannies in the room.

"Okay!" He whistled slightly. He continued to pad along with Sid, thanks to the sounds he made. When Sid stopped, however, Othello continued to pad along when Sid stopped. He was confused for a few seconds until the sounds continued.
So what place was good to inspect things. His ears twitched in thought. There were a lot of places with nooks and crannies in the palace of Hearts. Well... there were a lot of places that he had gotten stuck in that was for sure.
Maybe they were going to one of the studies? Or the Library? The places where books were kept were often nice places to get lost in. He trusted that Captain Sid would know where he was going. Everything was successful so far, so why not follow him?
Othello stumbled for a moment when he saw something from the corner of his eye. The image of a person flickered by and then flickered away. His ears twitched a bit before he returned to listening to where Sid was walking.

Othello didn't give any suggestions, but that was fine; he was the captain! He could find somewhere for them to go. It would have been a bit of a relief to have the boy suggest a place, especially since, unknowingly, they seemed to be thinking of the same room to go.
Without any further words-- didn't want to drop their booty again, after all-- Sid trotted down the hall and right up to the library doors. The guard standing there suddenly had a coughing fit, so the deer/equine used that distraction to put on a spurt of speed and dash through the doors. He made an agitated noise at Othello so his friend would hurry up as well. They had to get in while the Card was distracted!
Once they were safely inside, however, the danger continued. "Oh, thnap, it'th the librarian!" Whether or not he realized it consciously, he knew that the librarian wouldn't be nearly as forgiving as their previous hostages. "We've got to hide!" He dashed for a nearby bookshelf, assuming Othello would follow.

Othello did manage to hurry through the doorway, his tail brushing up against the guard's leg. He stumbled for a few moments, trying to keep his balance on three legs. Catching himself with wobbly legs he had no time to pause.
His ears snapped forward when Sid said "librarian." From what he heard from his Mommy, it was an Esterberry. And Esterberries were the scariest people when books were involved. He frantically looked around, seeing two visions of the same room.
He wasn't sure where to go. He bolted down an aisle, running past Sid, and diving into what he thought was an open book shelf.
On the bright side he was actually right. He crammed himself into the empty space, and hoped that the library hadn't seen him... and wouldn't smell the mint that was constantly coming from his eyes. He kept all of his whimpers to himself as he listened for foot steps.

Othello went one way and Sid, evidently had gone the other. The fanged deer cross whirled around to see that he had not been followed by his crew, but he had been spotted by the librarian. Oh, no! He dashed around the corner of a bookshelf, frantically dropped their booty into a plant and dashed down an aisle.
He was quickly caught, however, and sharp fingers snagged his tail.
"Ow, ow, ow!" he complained loudly.
"SHUSH!" The Esterberry snapped back at him. "What are you doing in here, Teremun?"
"My name is THID!" the boy complained. "And I wath looking for my brother. Have you theen him?"
"If you're talking about Tokasu, you know he's not allowed in here after he set fire to that 3rd edition." She eyed him suspiciously.
"He didn't mean to," Sid complained again. "You're hurting my tail! It'th not fair that he can't come in here. It'th hith home too."
"Well, Tokasu is uniquely unsuited to be around books. Look for your brother elsewhere, Teremun. Not here." The woman's voice was stern, but she dropped him and turned to stalk off.
Sid stuck his tongue out at her retreated back, but he wouldn't make a real move for the booty until he was certain she was gone.
