Felaria seethed in the back of Harold's mind, in a place he couldn't see or hear or feel her except for one hour every month. Her mental tail curled in a distinctly displeased shape and she wanted to wring the stupid little chit's neck, or just take her out and give her a wallop. What a spoiled brat! Her granddaddy would've tanned her hide if she'd ever been such a monster in public and she wished she could pass on the favor right now.
To fuel the fires of her displeasure, she could feel her lover's stressed, frustrated emotions, though she didn't know what he was actually thinking, just that he was upset and unhappy. That made things doubly worse. Her eyes narrowed and she imagined tying the girl to a tree while the swamp water slowly rose. Then she'd see who wasn't moving. As if Harold didn't have enough to deal with without some stupid little ranked baby of a wolf giving him hell.

Harold closed his eyes for a moment. If he had been aware of what Felaria was thinking, he would have been a happier person. As of now he wanted scream. Someone needed to teach this child manners, and it wasn't going to be him.
"Scream all you want. I'm leaving," Harold said shaking his head. He wasn't going to subject himself to this utter bullshit. He had dealt with enough spoiled brats when he was in the courts, he didn't need another one while he was free of that political nightmare.
He grabbed a scroll that was sitting next to the wolf and he proceeded to walk away. He had what he needed, or at least it was a step closer than he had been. Drawing attention to him now wouldn't get him in too much trouble. He was in his native Esterberry, it may have been filled with utter pricks but they would take his word over a screaming Tulgey child.

Rosemary stared at the man's back as he walked away. Most pretty boys would have been run over like a train by her threat. Not this one, and Rose didn't care for that at all. The wolf's tail puffed up slightly as she growled.
Hopping off the book she chased after the man. "HEY! HEY! Don't you dare walk away from me! I'm a King and your a Jack! You have to respect me!"
Wow she sounded like the worst brat in the world. Didn't she throw a tantrum like this when she was four? Then again she normally played the mediator between Thyme and Sage. Throwing around rank was something her Highland sister normally did to her bipedal sister. Parsley probably would have smacked her in the face of this one.
"Listen to me!" She said as she bounced after him. Gah, he had long legs.

Harold had half a mind to yell at the girl in return. However, that would get him absolutely nowhere. On the bright side people weren't staring as the pair of them. The first outburst had prepared most of the people in that area of the library. They all effectively ignored the pair as they were reading.
"Just because you make demands, doesn't mean I have to follow them, young lady. This isn't the Court of Clubs. And...." he paused for a moment. His suit had changed.... even though it hadn't. It was a confusing situation. Never mind, he wasn't going to say it.
He continued to walk down the isle until he came to the front desk. "I would like to check this scroll out if possible?"
The woman at the desk gave him a cordial smile."That's an overnight only, do you have your library card?"
Harold pulled a card out of his pocket and handed it to the woman. He continued to ignore they little wolf child who was at his heals.

What the hell. No one was supposed to ignore her of all people! She had been loud and obnoxious and yet she had gotten nothing out of it. Maybe... she was going about it all wrong.
She glared at the man from the ground. She was pretty sure he had something to keep secret that or he had a crazy obsession like some Corvie. Either way she wanted to poke her nose in it no matter how difficult it was. She was going to find out a little bit about what the man wanted to do with his life... or was doing with his life or whatever.
Once he had walked away from the librarian she chased after. "Hey! Heeeey!" She chanted as she bounced besides the Esterberry. "If you're so interested in that stuff, have you ever tried going to Corvistowne. I mean those people get things done rather than just read books...I don't mean that as an insult. Esterberries just tend to do a lot of that."

Sigh.
"You honestly think I haven't tried that?" the Esterberry looked down at the girl with a raised eyebrow. Why was she still following him? "Shouldn't you head back to where ever you spend the stay. It's getting late." In fact the sun was already starting to set. He had honestly been in the library that long?
Of course he didn't know if he really had to worry about time anymore. The very thought made him cringe inside. He was going to figure out everything no matter how long it took.
The man's fingers gripped the book as he began to walk towards where he was staying once again. He would probably have to leave soon. He didn't want people to get suspicious because he didn't want to have long intellectual banter with them. And of course some members of his region took that as a major insult.
He paused and turned around to see that the girl was still following him.

"I don't have a place to stay." Rosemary blurted out staring at the man. She had randomly come to Esterberry and found that no one in their right mind would give her a hotel room. Apparently you had to be 18 to get one in a place like this. This generally meant that she was out of luck and had to sleep outside.
Esterberry wasn't shady, but she honestly didn't want some creepy homeless person coming up to her and doing things while she was asleep. She already had problems while she was awake. The canine looked up at the man with a shrug. "Sorry to bother you. I'll be off then, I guess."
She honestly wasn't trying to make him feel guilty. It would be a bonus if he caved to her being a poor helpless girl who needed shelter. Taking advantage of kindness was something a girl had to do every once in a while....
Right?

Harold found that he was rolling his eyes. What was he going to do. "Because you're a down to earth brat I should let you stay out in the freezing cold tonight." Harold said turning to the figure that was creeping away. Of course the girl wanted to take advantage of him. Part of him, deep down inside, wanted to let her suffer, however the nicer part of him one.
Plus, she probably had the attention span of a gnat. She probably wouldn't remember his face years later if they ever crossed paths. It was a chance meeting after all. No one would remember something this stupid years later--except for him. However in the large spectrum of things Harold's thoughts and opinion didn't matter. That's just the way things worked.
"You can spend the night. But if you decide to be loud while I'm reading I'll drop you out the window." He said walking towards the apartment complex. "And I live on the fourth floor."

Rosemary squealed happily. "Thank you mister! I'll never forget your kindness! I really appreciate it!" She said bouncing forward, trotting behind him.
She highly doubted he would drop her out of a window. He didn't seem the type. Plus she wasn't going to try her luck after the incident in the library. No one seemed to care about anything unless you were an Esterberry. But it was like that in most regions she supposed.
Humming to herself she followed the man with long trailing hair. Thanking him multiple times for allowing her to stay. Maybe that would make up for her early idiocy? Not that it mattered really. He probably could careless about the entire situation.
She was really grateful. How could she not be? Not many people would have done this after her being a brat. Either way they were never going to see each other after this.
