The eagle's small sigh did not go unheard by the little skunk, and she tilted her head to the side with some curiosity. She could tell when there was something wrong with her brother, but she still didn't know what to do about it. For now, she would work to help distract him.
Dahlia's whole body was wriggling as she leapt onto Eilwyn, and Asha could tell immediately what had happened. Laughing with the carefree tone that could only belong to a child, she ran to the two. The bander was licking the eaglet harder now, and when Asha picked up the jingling ball she stopped, raising her head and perking her ears. The ball was always a good distraction, and Asha threw it hard and far. Dahlia leapt from her captor as she went after the noisemaker, whuffling and snorting all the way.
Asha collapsed atop her brother, her face split with a wide grin, still giggling. "There. I gained you some time," she said, sounding entirely too serious. "But.. she'll be back pretty quick, so I should probably let you up, huh?" her voice was cheery as she nuzzled him. He was older than her, but he always took such good care of her. She hoped he'd never leave.
Sure enough, the moment was interruped by the sound of a loudly jingling bell and a whuffling Dahlia, who came charging back into the room, looking ready for more. Of course, there would never be enough now that they'd gotten her started.

Eilwyn looked at Asha's grin. It was nice to see her happy. Eilwyn sat up when she removed herself from his chest and looked in the direction of the jiggling.
The ball was returned to him, this time without all the slobbering and licking. He threw the ball up in the air, the bander watching closely. "Hey, Asha, do you want to see what Mori's cooking once we're done here?" He was hungry, and it was terribly hard to ignore. However, he was preoccupied at the moment.
He tossed the ball towards the door, it bounced off the frame with a heavy jingle. The bander desperately chased after it, but ran through the door instead. The confused wuffle and snorts coming from beyond the door way.
"I think I just confused poor Dahlia," Eilwyn said with a bit of disappointment. He walked over to pick up the ball and toss it out the door. To his dismay it barely made it. His eyes were getting worse? What was going on. He let out a chirp as he heard the bander attack the ball. At least she wasn't confused anymore.

There were some figures of speech that had confused the skunk when she was younger, but she was slowly learning to just accept them. Whenver she had asked what people meant when they used them, she'd just gotten somewhat confused responses. It was as if no one could really describe to her what they meant when they made remarks about seeing what someone was doing, or looking like something had happened. With age, Asha was learning many things, however, and she smiled to herself at the thought.
"Whatever it is, it smells delicious!" her stubby snout raised high, she sniffed delicately at the air, sightless eyes staring blankly at the world around her. When she turned to look at Eilwyn, he would likely get that disconcerting feeling again - though she was looking in his direction, her eyes were focused on nothing. She giggled to herself at the sounds of Dahlia's confused whuffling, rolling on the floor and stretching her legs into the air above her. How much fun they had when the bander chose to play with them!
Her ears were sharp, however, and easily picked up the disappointed sounds made by the eaglet. Rolling onto her belly once more, her ears flattened slightly and she looked in the general direction of the eagle, the corners of her mouth turned downwards in a distinctive frown. "Eilwyn..?" she began softly, tail twitching in slight anxiety. "Is everything okay?"

Eilwyn blinked. He had only really told Zane what the problem was. He seemed really worried about it, and most of all he didn't want Asha to worry about him to. "It's really nothing, I promise that you don't have to worry about me. It's something that I have to... take care of."
He shrugged, even though she couldn't see it. He smiled, knowing full well she couldn't see that either. It just made him feel better. The little eagle didn't sigh he simply walked over and gave his sister a hug. "I'm sorry to make you worry. Let's just... have something to eat and forget about it?" He was pleading with her for some reason. He wasn't sure why he wanted to avoid the subject so badly. He knew it was just bad. There was no other way to describe it was there?

((Ok <3))
It was probably a good thing that Eilwyn did not try to explain what was going on with his eyes, as the little skunk would not understand. As she was born without sight, she had no idea what it was that was afflicting the other, nor could she ever fully comprehend it.
For Asha, who had been born into so many misfortunes, this was one of the things that was considered by her mother to be a strange stroke of luck.
She sat at the eagle's side, bumping his chest with her head and sighing softly. It was clearly another one of those Grown Up issues that he was having such trouble with, and Asha knew in an instant that for now there was nothing she could do to help. Those issues always left her behind, and she never quite knew what to do about them. "If you're sure you're okay, 'wyn." her voice wavered with the tone of a child who did not fully believe what they were saying, but didn't know what else to do. "Love you."
The sound of clattering dishes heralded something far less morose, and much more delicious: Mori was serving up food, and setting it at the table. With a small squeal (as close as the little creature could get to a chirp), Asha trotted away from her "brother", clambering excitedly into one of the chairs. She moved with the ease of one who could see, but the way that she sniffed at the food reinforced her blindness. "Thank you, Mori! It smells delicious!"
Their troubles forgotten, at least for the time, Asha dug eagerly into her meal.
