Kazifel made a surprised sound when Femi suddenly announced that she was going to paint the children's room. He didn't have time to argue as she scurried away with the paints and other proper materials. He shook his head and continued to stack and organize what he had been a before following after her. He was curious after all.
The wolf made his way upstairs and into the proper room. "What exactly do you plan on painting?" He asked as he watched her do her thing. It really made him want to work on his dolls but... he didn't even have half the material he needed. It was terrible having a muse and no outlet. After a while of watching he would probably go back downstairs to work on finishing the storage room. Maybe he would play happy homemaker and make a set of labels for where everything went?

Femi bit her lip and stared at the colorless wall, as blank a canvas as she could have asked for. It was clean, smooth, and offered endless opportunities. It would also be something their babies would have to look at for years to come, so it couldn't be anything too dramatic. She didn't usually go for drama anyway. One hand smoothed over the wall thoughtfully, feeling its texture.
"I'm thinking it needs to be something leafy. I mean, we live in the Wood and it's such a beautiful place. Bringing some of that beauty in here, even if it's just on the walls, would be wonderful. Maybe I'll do a treescape, just against this wall... with the stream in it, the one I like to bathe in... and here, I can have a small bander hiding off to the side... and a jubjub bird sitting high in one tree, nearly hidden as well. Hmm..."
She stared at it for another few minutes, thinking, and then looked down at the things she had with her. "Be right back," she murmured, going downstairs for a few more supplies. And then she started working. She'd painted her old bedroom in her parents' house years ago, so she knew what she was about. It was just the matter of remembering all the steps.

Well that seemed to be a good idea wasn't it. He leaned in the door frame when Femi returned. He watched for a little while as she worked. He probably was going to have to bring her dinner tonight. It was a project she probably wouldn't tear herself away from until he begged.
Kazifel didn't exactly have a problem with that. He shook his head and grinned before making his way downstairs. He would work on finishing the storage room while she worked on painting. That's all he could do until he had his hobby back. Well, it was his job a long time ago, but since he now had the entire Corvistowne family fortune to himself and his family it was going to be more of a hobby wasn't it?
It was strange how he loved doll making so much even after what happened. He shivered for a moment as his hand lingered on the pattern paper. No, he wasn't going to think about it.
Later that evening he brought Femi some proper dinner. "Are you anywhere close to done?"

Femi prepared the wall and began painting. She hadn't gotten to do a project as large as this one in a long time. This one was probably going to be a lot less detailed than most of her normal work because that was always on a much smaller scale, dolls and the like. This was a comparably huge canvas and she was trying to just about fill the one wall. Yes, things would be a lot less detailed.
Her nose twitched and noticed the food before she did. It took a minute for the connection to be made and when it was, she turned to see Kazifel bringing her dinner. There was green paint speckling her pristine white fur and she looked tired but enthused. The contrast was quite an interesting sight. "Oh, dearest, thank you so much for the food! I... I'm... hungry." She paused to assess that statement and realized that yes, she was in fact quite hungry. What time was it? Dinner time? Later? She glanced at the window but only saw 'dark'. Oh my.
"Done? Ah, no... I'm afraid this is probably going to take most of tomorrow as well. I'll stop for bed in a few hours, of course, but... I'm sorry to abandon the unpacking like this." She looked vaguely sheepish as she kissed him and dove into the food. It really did smell wonderful. In her mind, she was just helping to make the house that much more ready for when they were finished moving everything and unpacking. That included the children.

"It's perfectly all right," Kazifel said with a wave of his hand. He didn't really mean that though, and felt bad for it. Honestly he didn't want to do all the work by himself, but that was the way it was going to go. It felt unfair, but he was terribly used to it. Not with just Femi, but with almost every single woman in his life.
He rolled his eyes. Damn that was stupid. Once Femi was finished with her meal he took the plates and let her go back to working. ONce he had washed them off he slipped into his workshop. With a small sigh he sat on the work bench to look at all of his tools.
Tilting his head he picked up one of the finer carving tools. Last time he checked most of his tools were well used. From the looks of it this one had had it's blade replaced. When he looked at each of his tools he found out that they had all been replaced. Apparently Josephine had been kind enough to buy him new ones and not bother to tell him.
With a small sigh he shifted to his human form. It was much more comfortable when he felt like being an idiot. After replacing all the tools he decided that it probably would be a very good idea to go to bed and not think about packing and all the stupid things in his broken past.

Femi didn't notice his unhappiness, partly because he hid it well behind a smile and partly because she was so engrossed in the project she'd given herself. She was a very flighty person and rather dim, but when she had a project her single-minded focus could be uncanny. It overcame hunger, exhaustion, silly little things that her body needed. Usually she had to fly to use the bathroom to make it on time when her body had finally had enough of being ignored. That was just how her mindset tended to go. She had absolutely no idea where his mind was right now.
Granted, projects like this were rare in that they hit her so hard. Kazifel had been one of them.
She kept going until her eyes started to get a little bit blurry, at which point she had to pause and look down. Oh. It was late. She should... sleep. Carefully closing up all of her supplies, she left them there and went to the bedroom next door. Kazifel was already asleep. She couldn't tell what time it was, just that she was shaking a little bit from tiredness, which probably meant it was far later than it should have been. Oops...
When she crawled into bed, she tried not to jostle it too much. She knew he was a light sleeper, she just couldn't really comprehend quite how light.

He woke up as soon as she got into bed. Not really in the mood to deal with being awake he pretended that he was going to have a good night's sleep. Of course he didn't but he tried to tell himself otherwise. When the sunlight peeked through the windowsill he slipped out of bed.
He had to finish all the unpacking today. There wasn't much left to do, he hoped. The wolf took to unpacking the few rooms that were left. Alone it was probably going to take all day and a good portion of the night. If he used his Club ability everything would be just fine.
Not quite sure if Femi was going to head straight for her project or find him for breakfast, he decided that it would probably be a bright idea to bring her breakfast in bed, and that's exactly what he did. It was still going to be a terribly long day.

Femi was extremely tired, her body telling her that it was more than time for her to be sleeping now, thank you very much, and why hadn't she gone to bed sooner? She was blissfully ignorant of this and slept on, not stirring beyond a mumble when Kazifel climbed out of bed to go and do more of the unpacking.
She woke up to the smell of breakfast in the room and a gentle shaking at her shoulder. With a half-hearted pouting expression, she stretched and shifted, blinking up at her husband. "Oh? Breakfast? Really? In bed? Kazifel, you're just darling!" Sleepy but more awake at the prospect of 'food' and 'morning', she sat up and kissed his paw, then nibbled at the food. She didn't notice anything off with him, since he always did a good job of hiding it from her and she never thought to look for it without some sort of hint that all wasn't well. Her chatter was what he would normally expect - about the food, about the morning, about him.
After she finished breakfast, she looked down at the green flecked across her body and giggled, brushing at it ineffectually. "Well, I'd better get dirtier before I bother with getting clean. I think I got more done last night than I was expecting. It might only take until mid-afternoon to finish if I ignore most of the detail. Which I think I will. It's not a doll, after all, just a wall." Then she paused. She couldn't help it. "That rhymed," she noted with yet another giggle. It seemed like the morning was off to a good start.

"That sounds like a plan," Kazifel said with a smile at his giggling Queen. He was "almost" done with all of the unpacking, and Femi could just focus on her painting. He just had two rooms left really, and starting early in the morning was enough to make up for the time, even with the breaks for food in between. He needed to be more optimistic anyway.
Once Femi was done with everything, he gave her a kiss on the cheek and departed. He worked on organizing and unpacking the rest of the household, and he remembered to actually stop to make himself food. Femi would have lunch a bit later since she woke up for breakfast late.
He went up the stairs around mid-afternoon carrying a tray for Femi. When slipping into the room he noticed how much was indeed done. Had he ever really seen Femi paint something like this before? With a questioning head tilt he offered her the food. Kazifel had wanted to ask her if it was done, but wasn't quite sure how much of an artists temperament she had.
