Disgruntled the male made his way down one of the many hallways that were part of the Heart Court. These fools did not know anything. He was the son of three Queens after all, who were they to look down and sneer at him? They should all be put to suffer torture, see how they liked training with El in the Marsh. That would surely put their perspectives straight. Freakin morons. El had only just recently said that he was now ready to head to the Court so here he was. It was not the first time that he had been to the Capital or the Court, though he had never really wondered the halls so freely before. Giving a huff he shook himself, allowing his fur to fall back into place, and resisting the urge to let off steam – literally, he continued on his way. He was bored. Someone interesting needed to come along. Yes, someone interesting, he thought again giving a firm nod of his head.

His left wing twitched. The Four of Hearts flinched back from the Ten, eyes wide as she tried to determine her best course of action. It was difficult to know how to react around the Queen of Heart's youngest son. As the years had gone by the now teenager had grown in size and unpredictability. He hid it from his father, it seemed, retreating behind a mask of sullen distance whenever the stallion came near. But the servants of the Court and many others in the area were just as likely to be ignored as attacked and the little feline Four wasn't certain just how the hybrid would react today. If only Ira would come by! For all that the yellow Ten seemed to abhor his brother, the equally strange equine somehow still managed to diffuse the winged boy's insanity.

As he made his way down the hall a small commotion at one of the doors caught his attention. Maybe someone was fussing out a servant who had said or done the wrong thing? Hopefully he made his way quietly over towards the doorway where the servant was standing.
Close enough that the servant would see him should she turn away to leave he kept quite as he hoped to overhear what was being or about to be said. From the way she was flinching he could not help but grin at the prospect that she had angered someone who was powerful or high rank. Maybe he had been lucky and had actually managed to find something that would entertain him, if not for a bit.
Settling down he waited, just in the shadows so not to be discovered by anyone else, to see what would happen to the servant. Prepared to leave at a moments notice, he did not want to get caught in the crossfire if it happened to be some fickle royal. If the servant ran or was sent away in some interesting way he was going to slink forward to see just who had done the wonderful deed. Silly servant, he thought to himself, hoping for something entertaining to happen.

Abruptly, the hybrid lunged at the girl and she gave such a scared YEEP! that it echoed through the hallways. She scurried away in utter terror, unaware of their audience and simply not caring, in all honesty. Her tail disappeared around the corner and left to the two males alone.
"Wot do you want?" The winged hybrid's voice whipped through the hall like a weapon, though he wasn't looking towards the mix. The canine pivoted neatly on hindhooves and stalked back indoors. There were some days... some days he couldn't seem to quite control himself, his mind. Sometimes he didn't know he was losing it. But sometimes he did and those were always the worse times.
The only one to really bring solace thus far was Xylia and the little club doe was far from the Court of Hearts. Se snarled wordlessly at nothing, golden tail lashing in obvious agitation.

The mix blinked and pulled his head back in surprise when the . . . well the yellow winged hybrid suddenly appeared, lashing out at the servant. He was not really fazed by the sudden action, though it had been unexpected, so he tilted his head and just blinked at the male curious.
Instead of answering the male’s snapped question he proceeded to follow him. His hiding space was given up after all, not that the shadowed cove did any good in hiding someone. He found himself really interested by the male, after all the Nine had managed to make the servant run with just a simple attack; this male had to be interesting. Not to mention the wings. He wondered to himself if they worked.
When the male growled he sat down, just staring at the other male. Something interesting should happen. He debated speaking for a moment, unsure what to say. Then finally he gave a chipper, “Do they work?”

Freakin' voices in his head! WHY WOULDN'T THEY GO AWAY AND LEAVE HIM ALONE?!?!!?! Se gave a sudden, wordless yell of rage, wings flinging themselves out wide and managing to knocking a lamp from a table. It crashed to the floor, fortunately not breaking, but then the boy leap at the night stand, purposefully knocking it askew. The small table did a strange little roll until it stopped before the other boy.
Pupilless green eyes suddenly bore down upon the other hybrid, eyeing him up and down and giving the impression that he was reading the other boy's mind. After a few silent minutes, however, Se turned his back on the boy and he walked off to the bookshelf to stare at the spines without really looking for anything. He wasn't certain wot was going on in his head, but he wished it would stop. Why was it so strange now? Wot had happened? He was in a musing silence, tail twitching uneasily.

The mouse-bull was caught off guard when the winged mixed suddenly threw himself forward, wings outstretched, knocking the table.
Not deterred by the fact that the strange winged mixed had not answer his question; though he did cock his head to the side in puzzlement at the mix’s other actions. Was there something wrong with the boy or was he simply ignoring his presence on purpose? Watching the winged mix stared at the books he felt a small sense of dread. He was not a book worm was he?
Shaking off the emotion, he inched forward till he was standing right next to the winged-male. By all the Suits that would be, he would be acknowledged. “Hel~lo” He said softly. “I asked you a question. Do they work?” He was being more stubborn then anything else. He had a curiosity and by all means he was going to get it answered.

Don't answer your delusions. That's wot that one shrink had told him. If you don't talk to them, they'll go away. Pupilless green eyes flicked to the side at the mouse-bull that was staring hard at him. *#&$! He stared at the books again. Don't answer your delusions. Don't answer your delusions.
He couldn't just stand still. The hybrid suddenly began to pace up and down the room. Every once in awhile he would stop and stare towards the other boy, then he'd start his fidgety pacing yet again. His tail twitched from side to side and occasionally his wings would flutter uneasily. Se stopped to stare again.
Well, why the *#&& not?
"Not yet," he said flatly. "But I've been assured they will. Why? Wot's it to you?" At least, Se comforted himself, his delusions were becoming more creative. The other mix was the weirdest thing he'd ever imagined.

He watched as the winged mix paced around the room. The guy sure did act strangely, he thought to himself, his head tilted to the side as he watched him. Every now and then the other mix would stop and simply stare; a few times he had just smiled while others he would just stare back. It was an odd game.
Finally the male spoke. Aha! He had gotten a response! The winged-mix actually did have a voice, he knew it! All it took was a little patience . . . and pushing. It was not so hard.
“It’s nothing to me.” He said with a simple shrug. “I just thought they were really cool. Ohh, do you have any clue when you will be able to use them?” To be able to fly would be such a neat thing, though he definitely did not want it for himself. He liked his feet on the ground where they already were, thank you very much.

Se wasn't sure wot to make of his imagination. Who would imagine a bull mouse? Especially one that was all red on the bottom and Covistowneian on the top? It was ludicrous. He so hated his mind sometimes. Like now.
Footsteps in the hall. Se froze, listening. If that was his father. . . but, no, the padding footsteps were too soft for hooves or the strong, heavy stride of his equine father. Not that freakin' cat either. If she came back, he would kill her. The winged hybrid began to pace around again, and for several minutes it seemed as though he had completely forgotten about the question.
Still, a little while later he finally replied, "I was told adulthood." The tone wasn't explanatory or even vaguely nice. It was distracted and hard, as though this wasn't worth him really paying attention to while answering. "The membranes are supposed to be strong enough then."
Really, however, he was trying to figure out which combination of things had brough about the strange boy sharing his space just then.
