"No, no..[/b]" the sparrow shook her head quickly. "If I just couldn't find the right one that would be easy. And trust me, you're lucky you don't want it.[/b]" the sparrow's voice held a spiteful tone as she poured herself another glass. Wow, was that bottle really as empty as it seemed to be? Ah, well, nothing to do for it but keep drinking. "I never wanted it. Never. Now look at me. In love with a queen...[/b]" she slammed the shot back, feathers fanning out in an almost restful manner.
When she looked back up at the heron, she grinned slightly. "I won't hold it against ya,[/b]" she remarked. There was a blush beginning to show on her cheeks, coloring the white feathers pinkish and the blue ones purple. It was ridiculous, the two drunk birds complaining about their lives together. She was almost positive that everyone else in the bar was watching them, laughing at them and the all of their silly feathers. Damn, the heron was a fantastic drinking partner. Ceren would need to get some way to track her down after the night, it would be a shame to lose track of such a person.
She was just too drunk to care at that point.
"Lore, if I could,[/b]" Ceren remarked, her words beginning to blend together as she spoke them. She reached out as soon as the other bird had downed that last shot, topping her glass of for her. "I would loosen that thing for you.[/b]" oh, wow. She was drunk, very very drunk now. She just didn't care, and that was the funny part.

"Aye. A queen then? You can easily become their king." Lore shook her head in dismay. Rank jumping was very silly to her. She really didn't see the point in it. Another shot was understandable, but not jumping ranks to get a "better life." Ranks didn't matter at all. I was other things that mattered. Other really important things, but she didn't know what they were.
And then Ceren suddenly came close to her vice. "No. Don't you dare touch it! I don't want you cracking my head open or anything!" She shifted back, only to lose her balance. One leg really did screw her up. With a horrible squawk she hit the ground with a clank. Her vice rang, making her headache into a full blown migraine. She let out a weak whimper. The lights seemed to burn as she struggled to get up from the floor.
"Geez. I forget how bein' drunk sucks." Lore muttered as she climbed up on the chair. She didn't care about what people thought about her. No one seemed to notice her fall anyway. No one that mattered.

Ceren just stopped moving for a second, blinking a few times in mild amazement. Had she really never thought of that? She couldn't help but quickly discard the notion, knowing that she was never designed for court life. Though... she couldn't help but imagine that he father would be happy with her, if she were to actually become a king. She wondered, though - what would he think about her being Iria's king? She knew that Gardens Cards made him nervous, though they had never treated her poorly... Perhaps that was because she was a female. That would make sense. "'m not cut out for kingin'.[/b]" Ceren muttered, staring at her glass. "But god, shi's beautiful.[/b]"
When Lore fell, Ceren let out a distressed chirp and fluttered uselessly in her seat, wondering what she should do. An apology rose in the back of her throat, and she instantly realized that such words would be almost meaningless to the heron unless she backed it up with something else. Calling the barmaid over once more, Ceren procured a small cloth bag filled with ice, nudging it across the table to Lore. "Trust me, the las' thing I wanna do is split yer head,[/b]" she said, lowering her voice slightly as she was sure the other would have an absolutely throbbing headache by now.
"Wan' me to get some water? It'll help with the next morning[/b]" Ceren offered vaguely, taking a small sip off of the top of her most recent shot. She didn't really want to shotgun this one unless she had a good drink of water in her. Otherwise, she would never want to see the next morning. She was already wondering if the next morning would hold anything plesant.

"Bit late for that." Loreta said rubbing her head as she took the pack of ice. It never really helped. The pain was still there, and it was too strong to ignore. Geez. Why did she have such crappy balance when she was drunk? The vice hardly helped. Damn thing. If she could take it off without the fear of her head splitting open she would. But frankly she'd grown used to it, that if she took it off... worse things might happen. It was still very tempting though.
"Shit. Water. Water won't fix the hangover I'm going to have in the morning. I'd rather have something to fix the headache." She shrugged and carefully took another shot, balancing between the ice and the shot glass.
"She ya say? Is it that Yarrow Gardens Queen or is it outside the house of diamonds?" Lore was really damn curious. What was her love like? And how far away was she from her actual goal. "Either way, a ten isn't a long way from a king. And if ya love her... infatuation or not.... why not take a chance." Lore titled her head curiously. She was one to talk honestly. "But I'm just a messenger. I have to get a leg. I don't think I can find anything until I get one. Garh. I sound like such a pansy!"

Ceren's wings fluttered slightly as she struggled to regain her balance. Lore wasn't the only one who had trouble standing when drunk, and the sparrow didn't even have the excuse of only having one leg! Her wings opened almost dramatically as she collapsed back into her seat, head lolling drunkenly to the side for a moment as she considered the heron's words. "Yeh, you're probably right.[/b]" she finally said, shaking her head slowly. "S'okay though. Might be worth a try still.[/b]"
Raising her head slightly, the sparrow waved the barmaid over again, grinning widely as she put in the request for water. Man, she was just so cool. She was sure that the heron and the barmaid must realize it by now!
"Yeh, that's the one.[/b]" she nodded, taking a long drink of water and shaking her head as she sat it down again. "I know, I know... I just don't know what I need to do if I become a King, you know? I can't imagine it's all just relaxing with gorgeous women.[/b]"

"I didn't think Diamonds shied away from work," Loreta wiggled on of her feathers as if it were a finger. It was probably the silliest thing in the world, but it's not like she cared. Being drunk was being drunk, regardless. She was hardly responsible for that came out of her mouth.
"A King. It can't be that hard. If you love her or you're infatuated or what'ver! You can do anything as long as you want to." She snorted. Wow, she really should apply her own advice to herself. Loreta would get around to it, sure, but she had to work around her job. She was a messenger, and she had to stay the fastest, otherwise she would lose her job. She was terrified that another leg would slow her down, but she wanted a leg so bad!
So drinking was apparently her compromise. Whatever. She took another shot and slammed the glass back on the table.

Ceren bit back a loud snicker as the heron waggled her feather suspiciously, trying to keep tears from welling up in her eyes. The sight was just... completely ridiculous, and even through the haze of alcohol that blurred her vision and her mind, the sparrow could tell that it was and was able to appreciate that fact. "Lore. Lore Lore Lore Lore Lore. You're mistakin' me for a Club, Lore.[/b]" Ceren fell back into her seat, waving her wings in a wild sort of a gesture before reclining fully, head lolling on her shoulders. "Mos' Diamonds go as far's'they can wifout working.[/b] Man, words were tough!
It was true, though, that bottle of vodka still had a little left, and Ceren could still feel her toes. Getting up just seemed so impossible, though, so she closed her eyes as she considered the other bird's words. "Can ya pour me 'nother?[/b]" she slurred in place of an actual reply, still tossing the idea around in her mind.
After a moment, she leaned forward rather abruptly, blowing at the strands of mane that had fallen into her eyes. "I'll tell ya a secret, Lore.[/b]" Ceren muttered conspiratorially, glancing around as if checking to make sure that they weren't being watched or listened in on. Of course, they weren't, but in Ceren's mind it was always better to check. "See, the thing is... I don' even know where to start. I don' even know if shi wants me as a King.[/b]" Aww, how pathetic and sad. Ceren hated herself sometimes.

"Nev'r was good at keepin' things straight," Loreta muttered as she poured the last of the Vodka in the glass for Ceren. She blinked hazily at what the sparrow had said. It was a pretty lame secret, to be honest.
"Eh. Well. She probably does." Lore said with a strained note. Of course Ceren would think low of herself, why else would she drink? That was one of the reasons why people drank the way they did, and she was already gone. It was amazing to be somewhat level headed and watch someone flop all over the place.
Sobriety was overrated sometimes. So very overrated. The heron rolled her eyes and shook her head. A secret for a secret. "I'll tell you one of mine then. I'm afraid of getting a leg. I'm afraid it'll slow me down at my job. Deliverin' messages is all I got. Well.... I can sex people but I don't want to be paid for it." Getting paid for something like that was just... no. She could live without it.

Ceren shrugged, shaking her head slightly and then giggling at the world swam around her. Man, she was really fucked up. "S'ok, Lore. I get that kina stuff mixed up alllll the time too.[/b]" she snorted to herself. The good part about being this drunk was that she had no idea whatsoever how silly she looked, and if she did she really didn't care.
Ceren shrugged Loreta's comment off, shaking her head slowly. Maybe there was some truth in the heron's words, but she just wasn't sure. It would be terrifying to put herself out there like that, especially if she was going to be shot down... She just wasn't sure if she could handle it. And what if she was just seeing things through rose-colored glasses? "You should have a little more to drink, Lore.[/b]" she muttered. She didn't like feeling like her friend wasn't completely smashed like she was, and so she slid the shot across the table to Lore. She needed it more, at this point.
When Lore mentioned a secret of her own, however, the sparrow leaned forward with interest. Her own secret was a lame one, and she had realized this. But it was good enough for someone else's secret, and that was good. After hearing it, she blinked slowly. "Tha's... Tha's kina sad, Lore.[/b]" she muttered, frowning. "Wha' if you get one made out of, Idunno, alu.. alumi... Tha stuff? 's light, you know. Then you coul' be fast and not need to sex for money.[/b]"
