(( *pokes interesting-looking thread* Hmm, hopefully I'm welcome here. ^^ ))Fenzik's face was scrunched up in annoyance as he walked down the road at a brisk pace. He crested a hill and exhaled a deeply relieved sigh as the Hypotenuse's Angle appeared at last before him. "Finally," he grumbled. He was late, and it was only partially his own fault. He had tried to convince himself that he wouldn't have time for that one last experiment, but... well... the chemicals had practically been calling out to him from the shelves. His fellow Corvies would understand that, surely. More importantly, however, the rat's memory for places -- even within his home realm -- wasn't quite as reliable as his memory for people and, as such, he had gotten lost along the way, winding up initially at the wrong tavern altogether. So flustered had this made him that he had, for the briefest of moments, entertained the thought of heading back home and skipping this meeting altogether. But no. This was simply too thrilling an opportunity to pass up. The sight of the motorized bike parked near the pub's entrance brightened Fenzik's spirits. He was definitely in the right place now. He paused outside the door to brush as much of the dirt off his fur as possible and collect himself, then proceeded inside. Any remaining vestiges of frustration vanished from the rat's mind as his eyes adjusted to the interior of the pub and he surveyed the varied assortment of Cards who had assembled thus far. The crowd was a decent size -- not too large, which gave Fenzik hope that perhaps others had proven even less punctual than he. He noted with some surprise that, despite his number of acquaintances throughout the realm, he didn't seem to recognize anyone else present -- not by appearance, at any rate. Maybe he would find that he had heard of a name or two; only introductions would tell that. Speaking of which! "Greetings!" he said enthusiastically, strolling boldly toward the closest Card to his current location by the door, a female who happened to be in human form. This fact quite impressed but did not visibly intimidate the rat. "My name is Fenzik. What's yours?" he asked with a pleasant smile, while at the same time one of his two tails strained forward, making futile attempts to lash out at the stranger.

(( Yay, more Card in the indeed slow-moving thread. xD; *tries to ease back into the board here* <<;; *waves at Varde* )) Owen allowed himself to be soothed by the raccoon's reassurances. It wasn't Ralph. Ronnie? The bird didn't actually care, but it wasn't impressive if one forgot the names of his acquaintances. He was saved from potential social embarrassment-- though Rocco probably had already figured out that he'd forgotten, Owen had no clue of this-- by a doe's helpful intervention. He turned and inclined his head towards the green-marked woman. Ophelia? The name rang a bell, but he wasn't certain why. "I do hope, Rocky," the sparrow said with as much dignity as he could muster (though he likely seemed more pompous than anything). "That we can count on you to keep this. . . child out of trouble." He subconsciously made the word an insult. ------- (( Yay! Hatter and Ophelia! *fangirls a bit* xD; )) Cavendish heard the words, but his mind was already racing away because of them. His ears flattened further against his head. He began to mutter under his breath, the words low enough that Hatter might not be able to catch all of them without effort. Why is he talking to me? There are so many others in the room. . . and he looked almost as though he recognized some of them. Maybe he's over-balanced. . . or under. . . The admittance to mechanicals didn't even strike the deer; at least partially because he had no interest in such.

(( OOC: X3 hehe. Owen <3 *adores him*))
He practically gushed his cheer at Owen as the sparrow spoke. "Oh don't worry, Owen! He's blind he can't get into too much trouble without his sister around." He was completely oblivious to Owen's intended insult to the mouse-mix and more oblivious to the fact that he may have accidentally insulted the mouse-eagle. He remained thoroughly cheerful as he motioned to Ophelia. "This is Miss Ophelia, I'm sure you've heard about her amazing accomplishments in genetics." He smiled at the deer. "And this is Owen, I think his specialty speaks for itself."
Radz made an indignant sound at both the adults. He refused to get emotional over something so trivial. He just needed to back away from the situation. The mouse bowed his head slightly, "I won't make any trouble, sir. Thank you for your concern. Since you'll all so busy I'll take my leave." With that he mouse turned to part. His head was still low as he used his wings to brush against the wall. It really was a pain to navigate without Eurwen. There were far too many people to listen to to navigate by sound, not like he had been all that skilled at that either.
The fairy squirrel pouted after a failed attempt at ordering a drink and being called a "pretty little girl." So he had taken to watching all the other people chatting to each other. Spinning around on his chair we watched as the winged dear was corner by a rather cheerful card with a hat. His eyes darted to the large raccoon with wings and the mechanical bird. The human entered then, bright red hair and... interesting outfit. If he had been bolder he probably would have gotten up, instead he continued to watch as a rat entered shortly after her.

Hatter hesitated, his gaze becoming unreadable even though the deer was obviously not trying to read them.
Boring.
There was only so much talking to himself that Hatter could do in a busy room and standing around doing so with a headcase could only remain interesting for so long. "Well, it was a pleasure to meet you. Good day~" Hatter chirped casually and simply turned to walk away. He'd find someone else to talk with.
Hmm, mechanical legs -- mechanical spine... o! Yes, he'd seen Parsley come in! Should he go say hi? The boy was just spinning about on the chair, no? Ophe was busy with the half mechanical bird, so he'd focus for now on saying hi to Parsley and then approaching Miss Mechanical Spine.
The Hatter waved a wing as he approached Parsley's bar stool. "Parsley, isn't it?" Doorie had been tagging along at Hatter's heels and now chirp-whirred as it saw Parsley up on the stool. "It's Hatter." Different form, same person... If nothing else, Doorie would connect them. It was hard to forget something like Doorie.
Ophelia grinned at Rocky, moving a bit closer to incline her head to Owen. He looked to her like a stuffy, pompous ass but she hadn't known him long enough to make proper assumptions. "It's a pleasure, Owen. Your accomplishments certainly are obvious, what a wondrous mastery of mechanics." The Doe slid her gaze over the crowd briefly, searching for a figure she'd seen fleetingly. Hatter, where did that Neon light of a bird get? Ah, there. He'd found himself someone new to chatter at since her last glance. "A good friend of mine works primarily in mechanics, especially the creation of artificial limbs, so I have a decent idea of the work it took to do what you've done. How long did it take you?"

Shift sniffed and tilted her head lazily back to look at the Rat. Her expression changed of one from haughty disinterest to slight surprise and her body turned around to face him, her head clicking back to center as her body whipped around.
"An' 'ello t' yeh," she drawled staring at his tail rather than his face, "Fenzik, eh? 'M Shift." One of her hands came up, fingers twitching as it followed the movements of the lashing half of the tail. She bent in half at the waist, lowering her top half closer to the tail, not particularly caring that she was slowly giving the Rat a very clear view down her exposed front as she made a few grabs for the tail. In the back of her mind she knew it was rude to do such a thing, but she was too fascinated to care.

(Hello everyone! Hope you guys don't mind me claiming it was cloudy earlier that day. If you do I'll change it. XD; ) The marten had set off from her current residence when the sun was shining high, creating an impossibly ecstatic mood in her. She never remembered being nearly as cheerful before her experiments. Then again, there was nothing like an experiment to life ones moods, especially when they were successful! No, but her true success was yet to come, she still had blood inside her, after all. Though not even the thought of her contamination could lower her spirits, not when a Meeting of the Minds was taking place that night! She needed all the energy she could get before meeting the brilliant minds she hoped to meet that night. That was why she had left hours earlier than needed. Not only could she gain energy, but she could further test the limits of her body before she arrived. Then the clouds had attacked, and she found herself wandering listlessly among the collapsing buildings until she was lost. Wishing not for the first time that there were some nice building to pinpoint locations she set off to find the pub. Better to arrive ridicuously early rather than miss out on any science! However despite her best efforts she could not find Hypotenuse's Angle until it was night, but by then her wonderful mood had worn off from not only the cloudy day but from being lost in that cloudy day. She could just barely bring herself to care if she was late or not by the time she walked in... to multiple people and no idea as to who anyone was. Her eyes darted through the room, trying to find at least one poor soul that wasn't already occupied. They fell on the winged-buck in the corner who did not particularly look like he wanted company, but really she only had one question to ask, and that was to see if the meeting had started. It certainly didn't look like it, but she did not get to where she was by believing people (they seemed to think after all that you actually needed blood, after all). As she approached him she reminded herself to be cheerful, as she always did when in such dreary moods, and filled her thoughts of her experiments. By the time she reached him her train of thought was completely off-track, causing her to ask the completely wrong question. " You look like a healthy fellow! You wouldn't happen to be looking to lose some of that blood in you, would you? I assure you it makes you much more durable!"
