Dark is going on hiatus for an indefinite amount of time; she'll still be around, for the most part, but there aren't any guarantees.

It's been 7 months since my laptop initially got knocked off the table; 5 months since my DC port was fixed and my laptop returned with a fucked up wireless card and cracked screen. Since then, I've been holding out for empty promises. The computer dudes still haven't replaced the screen they broke, and it finally died last night.

It was a pretty ugly death--flashing rings and lines, squiggly lines of discoloration, shadows, a whole column of aqua, sections of complete black nothingness... It’s not really usable at this point, obviously.

I’m going to speak with the computer dudes once more on Monday and hopefully beat them into giving me the money it would take to actually, ya know, fix my screen and then I will be finding new computer dudes. Hopefully the next set will possess something resembling competence.

Yeah, it's definitely time to give those guys the boot. They're nice and everything and their LAN parties were fun, but...they guaranteed their work, and they've just been fucking it up all over the place. "They're decent guys" is no substitute for "they do their fucking job right."

You'll just have to come to Bee's more for computer fun times. X3

Yar. And I just got back from pricing the repair at another, much nicer shop; they've done business with the city in the past and come highly recommended. He was very honest with me--the repairs would cost about $400-$500, depending, and it would just be cheaper to buy a new laptop. Which I just did; I bought a tiny Acer Inspire One online and it should be here within a week. :0

It doesn't have a lot of power, but it'll work fine for writing essays and surfing the net (and replying on SD!) I'll just have to do my gaming and art stuff on my parents' machine, which is fine, I guess, because the internet at school isn't good enough for the online MMOs and I don't generally tote my tablet around with me anyway.

edit. And in regards to the other comp dudes... I'm going in to talk to them one last time, and then I'm reporting them. I don't want to, but this has gone on long enough. :/

I've been very active for a hiatus; more active, I think, than when I've been officially here. *puzzled* Well, oddness aside, the "hiatus" is officially over as of last night. My new mini laptop was delivered just a little before eight, and now Dark is a very, very happy girl. It's so tiny, and awesome, and blue.

Of course, Dark is now attending school for twelve hours at a time. At least it's only twice a week, with a bit of class on Friday? I'll be sleeping the rest of the week to make up for it. XD;

Also! We can now officially drink our water. Whoo. XD;;;
