Unfortunately, Thalia could not claim to be the most coordinated or gracefully speedy person in the world (unless she was pickpocketing, in which case she tended to be quite sly indeed) so when the creeper flew at her she got about halfway through a dodge and then the little thing was all over her.
It was funny. She was getting a bug hug. She did so love butterflies. So floaty! So happy! She giggled, and wrapped her arms and her legs and her tentacles and her Hair aaaaaall around him, to give him a big hug. She didn't know why she was so very happy all of the sudden, but what she did know that she loved the big butterfly in her grasp and they were going to best friends, because she was never ever going to let him go.
"I love you, bug," she said, nuzzling him cheerfully and unconsciously employing her special molestation magic while she petted him. "Be with me always and we shall make floaty sunshine above the piffly cloud shapes."
Small Ability: The fur on their paws can now become utterly, silky soft at will, it takes no concentration and they can change it back to their normal texture whenever they desire. If they go to touch another SD, the other will find themselves being calmed slightly, even if they were horrendously angry, though not completely. And they will have a very hard time telling the SD to stop touching them with those silky paws.

Jak shivered aaaaaall over when she started squeezing and petting him. Then her paws turned into some kind of magic ohgod what the hell were they drug-like wonderment-inducing softness and he just melted.
"Yeah, oh boy, don't you stop that, I love you too, sunshine's fine, and you'll just love my brother. Maybe I can bring you home with me. You're weird like us. Your tentacles and hair and magical touchy paws would fit in just great." He wriggled experimentally and shuddered a little bit as she continued to cling and molest him.
Oh wow. Talk about lucky! That ability was just great. He really had to use it more often.
The skinned pelt of his sister reached around and began to experimentally 'touch' Thalia on its own, the Dell part of his mind curious as to what the Jak part was getting so worked up about. It really couldn't tell. How strange. The wings continued to touch and Jak started giggling, unable to stop.

It was like she was being wrapped into a cocoon of happiness, her very own butterfly burrito, and she was the special sauce. Sauce made everything better. She petted her new best friend with alacrity and licked the side of his face. He tasted like goldfish.
The cloak tickled. She wanted a cloak. Who could she make into a cloak? Iphis would make a pretty cloak, all white and fluffy and full of pink feelers. Then she could be a magical fairy princess too. Or maybe Hadyn! He had horns! But she didn't want to talk to Hadyn all the time. Hadyn had angst. She hated angst.
"Oooh!" she said excitedly, the Hair bouncing wildly with glee; she might have been yelling in her lovelyhappycreeper's ear just a little bit, but she was too thrilled to care. "I want to have a Tosiek. Can we make me a Tosiek?"

Jak just kept giggling as everything around him moved and felt soft and welcoming and lovely. He even rolled around a little bit, trying to drag his companion with him. Without breathing tubes sticking out of his back, he actually could! Roll, that was. Except that it hurt the butterfly wings. Ouch.
"What's a Tosiek?" he asked with a wince of his red eyes, wanted to reach up and rub at one of his nonexistent little bug-ears but unwilling to let go of her soft and wiggly self. "I haven't heard of one of those. Maybe I'll want one too."
At least she was happy, yeah? That was good. Happy was always good. He lived for the happiness of others, and right now, she was super-duper happy. It made him squee a little bit.
The delicate little wingalings were starting to get on his nerves, especially with Dell flailing all around him to pet the tentacle-girl, so he decided to make them go away. He could be a bug-thing without the wings! Suddenly, a lot of his body was gone and it was both a relief and strange as it melted back into his normal form.

He wasn't a butterfly! Thalia's breath caught; the earth shook; time froze; mountains crumbled. She felt betrayed. Ever so deeply betrayed. She had loved this creeper, and he wasn't even a butterfly. He was stuffed with tubes. He was a goggle fish. What else had he lied to her about? Was there no end to the secrets he kept from her?
Hysterical tears welled up in her eyes. She clung to him tightly but he was all pointy and uncomfortable now; he had changed; it was like she didn't even know him anymore. She hoped there was some kind of explanation for this; she wasn't going to let him ruin their happiness. Not when they were going to live together in a big purple butterfly bush, just Thalia and her special creeper and his brother and sister and her warm Tosicloak.
"YOU," she said, "are...veeeeeery naughty!"

The betrayed, tearful expression on her face confused him hugely. If she loved him like she said she did, shouldn't she love him no matter what he looked like? His brother was the only person to have ever said that to him, and Amhal loved him in any of his bodies so long as it was still him! Maybe the word meant something different to her? But it was a word. It should mean the same thing. Shouldn't it?
Naughty he knew. He used to be called naughty when he was a little boy and got caught stealing things. His ears flicked back and his flaming, floating eyeball swiveled wildly above his head. "Heeeey now, that's not nice. I'm not naughty. I'm just me. Don't you love me? Why are you crying?"
The tears alarmed him the most. Sure, he'd seen people cry before. Some girls seemed to do it more than some boys, but he'd seen boys cry. Not often, but he had. Crying meant a lack of happiness, unless they were happy-tears, which these weren't. He could tell. "Why aren't you happy?"

"You lied to me!"
Lies were tricky tricky toys used by tricky tricky people and they were not supposed to be used against people you were supposedly going to love forever and all time.
A thick lock of Hair coiled around his ear and gave his head a sharp jerk, even as she squeezed him tighter with her tentacles because deep down she still cared for him in a very tender and special way. He didn't understand, was the problem. He was making her have angst. The angst was smothering her happy to death. She just wanted them to be happy together, but they couldn't build this on a lie.
"You could have told me this was you. You didn't have to pretend you were a butterfly because you know they make me feel squishy and warm and pink inside. I would have accepted you!"

Jak grunted and made a canine whining noise when she tugged on his ear, but his grin got wider. Between the wiggling and the hugging and the petting and the sudden jerk of pain to rumble his senses around, he really thought that he might be able to bring her home. His brother could use someone else to snuggle when he wasn't around. Amhal was such a snuggly kitty. And from the way she kept moving like that and squeezing him with those weird but awesome extra limbs, he had a feeling she would be just fine with the two of them. Juuuuust fine.
"It was just a gaaaame," he whined, grin still in place. "I can look like all sorts of things. I didn't know you were going to love me. That makes things different. You're only the second person to ever say that. How was I supposed to know, hmm?"
He licked a spot on her cheek in semi-apology, the dried waxy substance in his eyes and down his face making it hard to scrunch the muzzle in certain ways. "Most people scream or cry or run. D'you think you can still accept me?" If she couldn't after all this? Boy, would that be upsetting.

Of course she could, she thought happily, floating again in the cheerful pink sea of joy. Ahoy! Thar be pirates here! Except the pirates gave you candy and didn't want your booty. How could she still be angry when he had licked her so lovingly? She giggled into his freakish fur. It had all been a big mistake, poof poof gone, he just hadn't known.
She missed the butterfly though; she wanted bughugs. His cloak was so pretty and flappy, with wings all its own...She could make it even better. What if it just flapflapped away into the sky? Even cloaks loved to fly. It would come back down. (Everything came back down.) If her sweet creeper got to be a butterfly whenever he wanted, why shouldn't his cloak? It deserved to be happy and free and floaty too. She laughed with delight.
Poof!
Amazing Ability: She now has the rather bizarre and outlandish ability to change objects into butterflies at will. Doing this more than five times a day is possible, but after five objects, she will begin to feel incredibly tired and after twenty, might faint. If she faints, people had better run as things will randomly change into butterflies, but only under this circumstance. While this ability does not work on living objects, it does work on corpses and, to a small extent, magical abilities. Any Card attacks from Jacks or lower can be changed to butterflies if Thalia reacts quickly enough, or sees it coming. If she is surprised, tough. This spell lasts for a full five minutes before the butterfly will change back into whatever it was before, but owners beware. While a butterfly, the object does in fact, fly, so they will have to chase and recover their lost item. This ability also works on summoned weapons, not counting them as living beings. However, the spell only lasts for thirty seconds on them.

Her answering giggle was like a reassuring balm to Jak's psyche and he sighed in relief, the sound echoing out of his breathing tubes and wheezing out of the bent one in an odd sound. He only giggled when he was happy, and occasionally when he was nervous, but that was definitely a happy sound. He could tell.
All of a sudden, he felt a weight disappear from his back. It was like losing the wings of the butterfly, except...
Except now it was losing the wings of his sister!
He cried out in alarm and jerked back, his flaming eye catching sight of the fluttering butterfly as it drifted past. It had the same white and wine coloring as Dell's skin! Was... was that her?! "Dell!" he shouted in alarm, shoving Thalia back in order to scramble up and after his sister. After seeing the whatever-it-was lobbed at his head and turned into a butterfly, he could easily believe that the previously-trusted pretty person had the power to turn things into flying insects.
"No! Sister! Wheeeere are you gooooing?!" Already she was high enough to be unreachable by conventional jumps, especially with his awkwardly balanced legs. He would have to fly after her, except that there were tentacles and hair tendrils wrapped all over him. He whined long and loud in frustration, kicking out with his bipedal back feet to get her off!
