Lior could do nothing but stare in shock as the boy laughed, the sound seeming desperate and hurting his sensitive ears, which immediately flicked back as he flinched away from the sound. In that second, the bizarre child turned tail and ran straight for the Wood.
"Wait!" he called out, but too late - the human didn't even slow down, and he wouldn't be able to hear anything Lior said through the crunching of the bracken and brambles, nor would it apparently dissuade him. Obviously someone was chasing him, but he had no idea who or why. Now he was curious, of course, but it wasn't something that was ever likely to be answered or resolved. How... horribly annoying. And strange.
He sighed and glanced down at his paws, golden but for the fine layer of dirt and mud that had started to coat them from his walking. They hurt, aching from the unusual constant exercise of traveling, and he decided that he'd probably been gone long enough to give everyone a short break from his presence. With another sigh, he turned his head to glance in the direction he thought might be 'home', only slightly wiser about Peaches and her ilk.
