Vacant purple eyes open to the dream scene, and she listens quietly, intently for the ring of her bell. She ignores the chilly voice for now - she's heard worse - and the breeze blowing past her flanks, newly-thinned from the birth of her children.
"What choices are made on this night of nights could affect the future of this entire world. Then again, they may leave everything completely untouched." She steps forward, leaving a trail through the dew-strewn grass.
"Which of these shall I choose? I shall let the Fates make such choices for me. They know far more than I yet do, whether it be for good or bad." Closing her eyes once again, she reaches out and chooses.

Eh, what the hell, I'll write a small narrative. XD I've been doing fricken' homework all day. I know that technically this is closed. Feel free to ignore it if it's "late". I'm just blowing off some steam.
Though it was strange to say, Tegan had had the misfortune of growing up in the lap of luxury. No matter how her mother tried, the girl had grow up Fearless, thinking she was nothing short of invincible. The night was hers. She laughed at the mental image of her mother having a panic attack over her missing daughter.
She searched everywhere for the voice when it came... but couldn't see it. It sent shivers up her spine and she didn't like it. She hated feeling fear. It deflated her sense of self-importance. If she knew who and what, then she could overcome it, but that never came. Ears, eyes, and nose working to their maximum, Tegan found no source of the voice.
She looked over the items thoughtfully.... the the one that caught her attention the most was the rotten apple. There were plenty of stalks of wheat around and feathers all over the ground here, plenty of paper at home, but the apple... The Courts had this horrible stigma against imperfection. The rotting fruit fascinated her. There was a sweetness in the bitter mustiness of the rot. It was... beautiful in its own strange way.
"Much appreciated," she smirked, no thought as to the trouble she might have gotten herself into...

In the fog-cloaked wheat field, Imre stood idly and studied the solitary figure of the Scarecrow with heavily furrowed brows. His kind were supposed to stand guard over these fields, protecting their earthy treasures from his simple-minded brethren, and yet this one stood solemnly and beckoned continuously for him to draw closer; to take his treasures.
Some guardian he was.
Choosing, though, was harder than one could imagine. An array of little items covered the table and yet Imre's eyes immediately latched onto not one, but two. Both halves of himself, black and white, had made a definitively clear choice and he was bereaved as to who to listen to. The piece of paper, or the pumpkin... One was blank, seemingly harmless but with a pull that he had trouble to ignore. Everything would be more than met the eye, of course: Nothing was ever as it seemed. The little white pumpkin, though. That was just as appealing. Perhaps even a little more useful.
In the end it fell to a flip of the coins, and the pull of his louder half, to make the decision for him.
The paper won and he claimed his little prize, looking curiously back at the pumpkin. Ah well, the decision had been made and there was no more looking back.
(Wow, my writing skills fail this late at night. >_>)

Wandalyn nearly jumped out of her skin when the voice came to her long ears. She had managed to wander into a rather spooky place indeed...and well...being slightly delirius from smoking really wasn't helping keep her imagination in check. Bloodshot eyes looked up at the figure, her tail twitching slightly with worry. She wasn't sure if she should say anything.
But what was this? She was being offered a gift? Well....that was strange...she was never offered anything. She felt sceptical....especially when her eyes scanned over the stone table...those were all such strange....things....Did she really even want to take him up on the offer? After all...the only thing that seemed slightly practical was the small pumpkin....she could make a fine bong from that....the apple would have been better....had it not been rotten. She would NOT smoke out of something rotten. That just couldn't be healthy.
It was about then her eyes scanned over a rather shiny object...she couldn't help but extend her paw out and hover over the little trinket slightly. It was as if it was calling to her....
Well...if she was to be a doe someday...she might as well have something that was pretty....or something. Hey...it made sence in her current frame of mind. Without a word, she picked it up and bounded off....eager to get away from the strange voice.
