Rosemary watched as the child pounced the leaf and began to chew it. Gee. She really hoped she wasn't that bad when she was little. "Oh well, I don't know really what the Court of Spades has to offer. I've only really been to the Court of Clubs which had a completely different atmosphere."
She glanced around the hallways. This place was pretty empty. The Court of Clubs had an empty feel but she had seen more servants running around there. Shrugging it off she tried to think of someplace to go. "Oh, do you have gardens? That might be interesting... or better yet, how big is your library?" Books. She was rather fond of them even though half the time she didn't want to admit to it.
"Then again taking a baby into a library might be a bad idea," she mused. "Well, do whatever you feel like doing. You are the one who has a title, and you know where you're going."

Zether managed to keep the stem intact, and struggled to his feet in order to prance around with his hard-won prize.. until he accidentally swallowed it. Disappointed, he went back to stumbling at his mother's feet before he became interested in nipping at Mia's bindings as they moved.
"I imagine it does," Mia said dryly. Clubs had more nobles than they did, and a bit more.. active leadership? Was that the way to put it? He'd only been there once, but the difference had been immediately noticeable. Oh well. At least they had prettier architecture, even if he failed to notice it most of the time. He had things to do, it wasn't his fault!
"We have gardens, but they're not as nice as Clubs'. We do have a library which is better than Clubs', though." The ferret stated, somewhat proudly. If only he had time to actually enjoy said library often.. alas. But now was a good time. "The library's fine. He's usually pretty good about not chewing up anything remotely intelligent - Esterberries." The last word came out more of a snort, and he narrowed his eyes at the large amount of Esterberry fur on his child's coat. It was strange, how Zether would chew up anything that wasn't a book..

Rosemary raised an eyebrow at the snort. She had met a few Esterberries. Some of them were snots, but the one she met was actually really nice. Of course she had been a bit of a jerk and he had actually put up with it to a point.
"I suppose it's just ingrained in their very being, kind of like the Tulgey weird." Rosemary said with a note of pride. Even her Fairy brother and Highlander sister had weird about them--or so she had gathered from the various trips around the regions. "But books are fantastic, I do hope you have some books on mythology. I do need to brush up on a few legends."
She happily padded down the hallway, following Mia and watching the antics of Zether. He was an adorable little puppy who would probably be a terror in a few years. Hell, with the ability to float like he did... it would be interesting to see what would happened when he was a toddler.

Unfortunately Mia's experience with Esterberries was fairly limited - the only one he knew at all was a complete asshole, therefore ruining his opinion on the lot of them. "Not all of them are ingrained. Some of them do it for fun," He muttered vehemently, his mind obviously drifting away from the conversation for a moment before it snapped back. "Sorry. I'm a bit biased against Esterberries at the moment." The ferret sighed, and absently rubbed at his face for a moment. Was he getting enough sleep? He had no idea.
"I'm sure we do," Mia agreed, and tried to remember what types of books they had - and failed. "We might have to do some digging to find them though.. I can't say I'm totally familiar with the library." His relationship with the room tended to exist only with the librarians, usually something along the lines of, 'Do you have a book on this? Ohgodpleasetellmeyoudo!' and them going and finding it for him.
Zether quickly became bored with the bindings too, as they didn't come loose like he wanted - though it was interesting watching them stretch and relax as Mia walked. The puppy bounced back over to Rosemary and latched himself onto one of her paws, playfully biting and nipping as they walked.

"Nothing wrong with reading for fun," Rosemary said after his little outburst of obvious resentment for Esterberries. "I went to Esterberry when I was younger and met a rather nice guy there. If you met him you probably would have a different view of the region. But... most of them are complete and utter pricks."
Watching her language in front of a child? No such thing. She was all for corrupting young and impressionable youth. Of course, she was pretty sure no one in her family would have children and they would just die off one by one. Or something.
She yelped in surprise when she felt teeth digging into one of her paws. Looking down at her forepaw she saw the little puppy nipping at it while she walked. Okay, fine, if he wanted to play he could play.
With a bit of skill and a lot of luck the wolf mix managed to flop down in such away that she was on her back. She waved the paw that he was chewing on so maybe he would try to attack it again. If not she would just flip right back up and continue walking.

Mia snorted, an eyebrow raising. "I meant more of the snootiness, though I suppose the reading does go along with it." He read for fun himself so couldn't grumble there, but he only made fun of those he knew well for entertainment - such as his sister. Saethre was fun to mock at anytime of the day! Ari could be too, but he tended to simply give obscure replies and walk away, making it less entertaining.
"I never used to have a problem with them," The ferret admitted with a shrug. "It was once I met a prickface one that my opinion took a drastic downward spiral." He said, then grinned. "Yeah, they seem to be. It makes me wonder if they have any nice, redeeming qualities.."
Zether skidded to a halt and backed up a few steps as she flipped over, but quickly narrowed his gaze and concentrated on that waving paw. Aim, aim.. POUNCE! He successfully managed to hit her paw, but instead of latching onto it he landed on her belly and began grabbing onto the longer hair there with his teeth.

"Snootiness is terrible." Rosemary said with a small sigh and roll of her eyes. How many snooty people had she met? "Highlanders and Esterberries tend to do that. That's probably why they never get along unless they're having some sort of bondage sex-capade."
She squeaked in surprise when the puppy decided to chew on her hair rather than attack her paw in full. Well, that was the great thing about children they were unpredictable. Curling up in a slight use she flopped her long tail on top of the puppy, wiggling the tip in front of his face.
Looking over at Mia she raised an eyebrow. "Might I assume this prickface is the father or mother of this little bundle of joy?" She had to ask. Why else would someone have such a strong disdain for a region because of one person? She had absolutely no idea.

"Indeed it is," He replied, "The plight of many poor, poor Esterberries. If only they knew how to fix it," The ferret said sarcastically, though with a comic air about him. At the mention of bondage-sex-capades he cringed and put his paw on his snout dramatically. "Let's not go there, really. It's bad enough that you're making me think about Esterberries in general, but it's worse that you're bringing up doing things with them, or with each other.. or anybody, really." Despite being honest about it - did it not make it obvious why he didn't want to talk about it? - the ferret seemed to be cheering up.
Whining about Christopher seemed to do that to him.
Zether's eyes widened when an abundance of long, delightful fur flopped onto his face. He lunged his upper body forward to try to grab it, but failed several times, so settled for batting at it happily.
"... Um. Maaaayybe.." Mia drew out avoidingly, then grinned. "Didn't you want to see the library?" He hinted.

Rosemary couldn't help but giggle at the man. Mia was someone she could honestly appreciate. Nobles weren't as stuffy as they were in stories. "I should write a poem about that. The woes of being an Esterberry. But I think I might get shot if I ever go back to the realm after that."
She gave an amused grin at the puppy batting at her tale. What an adorable little boy. Maybe children weren't that bad? Of course this didn't change her plans of being a single girl for the rest of her life. She flipped over, without hesitation, the little puppy could take it.
"Yes the library. That's what I wanted to see. I heard that the court of Spades had a mythology book I've been looking for. Do you know about the myths concerning the wars?" She asked with a head tilt. She might as well ask.
