Claudius' head jerked back a bit, his chin burrowing into his neck and eyes wide at how intensely the child had shushed him. But he obediantly followed what the children said. After all, maybe they were hiding from someone who was going to hurt them or something. He ducked and watched the area for who they might have been talking about. The feline looked upset, and he couldn't help but feel badly for her. Was he helping fugitive children? "Is that you're mom?" he asked just above a whisper. He wasn't sure if he was ok with hiding with this children if it was going to upset family.
He hated the feeling of the egg muck drying on his fur, and even worse was the fact that the parts that were still wet were picking up whatever dust and dirt was littering the cobblestones. Astyana would be furious at him for getting all dirty, and he certainly didn't want to wonder about the bazaar looking like something the cat dragged in. His mother would not be pleased to have him come home without the supplies. He wouldn't be punished, Astyana was not that kind of mother to be upset for something so trivial, but still...she would be disappointed. He didn't like disappointing family members.

Levi gave a gentle laugh at the question and shook his head, fielding conversation since Sid was still on lookout. "Oh, no, of course she's not our mother. Imagine that!" He gave another low laugh. "No, our mother doesn't come to the Bazaar for stuff like this."
"I think. . . the'th about to give up," Sid mock-whispered from his spot. "The'th getting really 'noyed."
"Wot's she doing?" Levi asked, scooting up just a little ways to try and peer around his brother. He finally stooped down to look through Sid's legs.
"The'th thorming off!" Sid announced with pleasure. "We win!"
The flaming horse backed up again so he could stand carefully and give Claudius a smile. "So why are you running around here?" he asked politely as the two boys led the way back out into the main area. Sid's attention was watching the feline who even now was disappearing into the crowds.

Claudius listened to Levi, and simply nodded, well...if this person wasn't their mother...what relation did they have to her? And why were they hiding? He supposed they were just being children. Difficult. Deep inside he felt badly for the woman who was their charge, but on the other hand...hadn't he done this all the time at their age? At least they were with him...a seasoned professional at trouble making...he could watch over them and return them home later...assuming that they didn't arrest him for kidnaping. Oh...bummer.
He watched as the aggrivated woman stormed off. Well, jeez. She really didn't try to find them very hard now did she? What had he gotten himself into? He looked at the two as they celebrated their victory, a smile crossing his features. He couldn't help but feel his more youthful self seep from his soul back into him as he spent time with the two. As they wandered into the main bazaar area, Claudius answered Levi's question, "Well...I came to pick up some groceries for my family...until I got...egged on." he said, looking at all the drying egg gook all over his body, his nose flaring a bit with discust.
He looked around a bit. "Have you seen a fountain around...or something I could wash in? I really don't like the way this is feeling on my skin..." he said...the discust clear in his voice. Suits these eggs were discusting. He looked at the two of them...they probably liked swimming....right? All kids liked swimming....right?

Levi wiggled his tail around in excitement, causing someone behind them to yelp in pain. The pair of Hearts, however, were evidently oblivious to this in lieu of focusing cheerfully on Claudius' question.
"There'th one at the Palathe!"
"That's no good; we're nowhere near there. Isn't there one in a park somewhere?"
"Well, yah, a park THOMEWHERE. I can lead!"
Levi shook his head and took point, beginning to lead the pair through the crowd. His head was up and he was looking around carefully even as he talked back over his shoulder. "You can't lead; you don't even know where we are now." He emphasized the last word.
"I'm not lotht!" Sid insisted, scampering a bit closer to Claudius. "Claudiuth knows where we are!" Though whether or not the young deer did was certainly not anything the winged hybrid could have said.
