The 'both of us' comment had Anoushka raising her eyebrows in curiosity, but otherwise she watched the girl without too much expression. She rather liked Ataxia, had ever since the girl's Jack's quest had proven to be such a good time, and would be more than interested having her help in running the Court. She desperately needed the help of another King. For all that she was quite competent and considered herself capable of doing the work of several Kings... she was the only one in the Court at present. And Aderlass was the only Queen. The amount of work that rested on her shoulders was beginning to drive her to distraction.
"So you vatched the two Diamonds have at it, hmm? Vhat did you think? Did you learn anything useful? I vould be interested in hearing this report, especially considering the fact that the Court of Spades is such a veak ally at present and ve have very little to do vith uppity Hearts at this point in time. Vhat is your appraisal of the new Diamonds Qveen?"

Ataxia blinked at His Majesty. Had she been too vague? Slightly confused herself by this point, she tried to explain further, hoping to clear up any misunderstandings.
"Yeah, Rocky and me. He was really worried about His Majesty Theofilus, but he couldn't make it to the fight, being all the way in Corvistowne. So I wrote back to Rocky, telling him not to worry, that I'd be there to support His Majesty Theofilus for the both of us. Sorry if there was any confusion about that..."
What had she done now...? She had hoped to keep names out of it, seeing as it really didn't matter who her friend was to them. Unfortunately, trying to keep it short, sweet, and to the point seemed to bite her in the tail. Shrinking back in her chair, she tried to answer Anoushka's questions more thoroughly.
"I already had a lot of respect for His Majesty Theofilus before the fight. He's definitely a good person, more than worth his rank. And he fought hard for the spot of presiding Queen. He's not much of a hand-to-hand fighter, not at all, but he more than makes up for that with magic. At one point, he was able to summon shadow birds that attacked the previous Queen. Pretty much ended it there, she couldn't do anything to get rid of them. Her magic just passed right through them."
Ataxia looked from Anoushka to His Majesty, then back to Anoushka. Had that been enough? Should she continue? She decided to leave it at that until she was asked any more questions.

At her explanation of what she had meant he felt his temper settle down. It was a nice change to see someone who was dedicated to their friends in such a way. He was strong requirement for loyalty. He was still new enough to the position of Queen, along with the Clubs being as weak as they presently were, to be paranoid about the lack that seemed to exist.
When she gave a recap of the Diamond Court’s fight, his right ear perked in interest. He had heard vague rumors about what had transpired during the fight but he had not heard these details. Apparently His Majesty Theofilus had interesting powers indeed. Maybe she could be of more use to him since it did not appear she was as high in strength as he would like in one of his Kings.
He had made his decision.
“As I am sure you are aware, the Court of Clubs is currently sorely lacking in its numbers. He began giving a long pause before continuing, “You are welcome to the title of Your Highness and rank of King if you pledge your loyalty to this Court and me as your Queen. Of course this does not mean that you have to drop your friends or the like, that would just be silly.” He said, trying to lighten up his request. “And I am sure that Her Highness would be more then glad to have someone to help her.”
He did no intention of it sound like she was to have no life outside of the Clubs, if he did come off that way. In fact he largely recommended that she make and keep friends and small alliances with their fellow Suits. He awaited her answer, motioning Anoushka to act if she accepted it.

The pause...that horrible, horrible pause! She leaned forward in anticipation, almost threatening to fall out of the chair completely. Had her report been enough to please His Majesty and Her Highness? Muscles tensed, she tried to keep still, as much as her paws wanted to shift and scratch at the wooden surface underneath her.
...Success! She smiled, no, beamed at the announcement. Her tail thwapped hard against the back of the chair, but the canine didn't seem to notice at all. She hadn't messed everything up. Now, she would be a King! It was enough to want to make her jump up and hug His Majesty and Her Highness, but she had enough sense still to keep from doing just that. Instead, she did her best to sit up straight and staid.
"I wouldn't have shown up if those loyalties weren't already to you and to the Court. I will do my best to serve the Court of Clubs and you, Your Majesty."

Anoushka made a pleased noise in the back of her throat and flipped up from her chair, offering her Queen a small bow of both approval and thanks. Now that the girl was going to be a King, she could officially turn her into a slave! Well, an 'equal' who was as much slave to the current demands of the Court as she was. Excellent!
"Child, that is vonderful to hear. I hope that you are able to serve His Majesty as vell as it seems that you vill. Now hold still - this may be familiar to you."
One hand reached out as the King crouched down, focusing on the marking beneath her fingers and heating it up until it was most appropriate for her magic to work. The black 'K' would appear after only a moment's concentration, pleasing to look at for the already-overworked King. She had help! With an overly pleased expression, she flicked the girl's nose before she moved away.

He acknowledged the small bow that his King gave him and then watched as she proceeded to change the mark on their newest member’s chest.
“Congratulations, Your Highness, on your new rank. I hope you find both pride and pleasure in it. I believe Her Highness Anoushka, here, would love to start showing you around on your new responsibilities if you are up for it now, if not there is always tomorrow.” He would leave it to the two females to decide when Ataxia would begin.
It really would be a help now that there was another King around to help them in the running of the Court. He shifted in his chair, trying to keep the moment unnoticeable as well as the grimace as his scars pulled on his flesh.
“If that is all, I bid you a good day.” He said in way of a dismissal, nodding his head at her, or both if Anoushka was wanting to leave as well. He was not sure how much longer he could keep this pose before it would show he was still weak.
