He didn't mean to make the kid so unhappy. The penguin frowned slightly as he watched the boy scurry under the table. His eyes wandered back to the engaging human when she spoke. It was encouraging.
He shuffled over to the table when she started setting up the plates, taking a careful seat and watching his feet as he did so. Not that he would really mind if the boy did anything, children were kind of adorable.
"Ah," Horatio said, sounding a bit surprised by the question. "I mostly came here for the water. It's a different feel than the Lakes and nothing like a public pool. Though I was scheduled to try to take a tour of a few local sights tomorrow. The little place I'm staying at offered it as a part of a package deal for my room. Do you have any suggestions for me?"

"A 'package deal'? That sounds like it be Belli-Mae, the rat lady? I swear she t'ink more like a Morganberry sometimes. Den again, her father be half, I t'ink. " She paused, musing to herself quietly for a few moments before shaking herself out of it.
"She'll show you da sights, a'ight. But.. a word to the wise. After she shows ya around da giant coconut trees, say ya got another activity planned coz she'll steer ya -right- to her gift shop. Gonna save you a bit o' awkwardness since she'll try to sell ya e'ry damn t'ing in dat shop." Regardless of the rather underhanded marketing ploy, Zuberi seemed rather fond of the woman, her laugh and expression purely of thoughtful reflection.
"Yanno, d'ere be a fishin' boat that leaves port near da noontime; catch a very particular fish in a cove that swarms durin' da hottest time o' day. Sometimes I catch da boat and take the kids to the cove since da waters be calm enough dat I don' worry about dem bein' swept away. You're welcome to come along t'morrow. I mean.. since ya said swimmin' be ya top priority."
((Amg autocorrect hates Midori accents. If a word seems off it's probably because I tried to 'Midori' it and autocorrect turned it into something weird.))

Horatio tilted his head slightly as he listened. It was nice that he happened to bump into someone who knew everything in the area. Zuberi seemed to be a honest person on top of all her other amazing traits.
She seemed to be speaking fondly of the woman who had sold him the package, so everything would be fine then. The change of subject made him perk up a bit. His eyes widening towards the end of her explanation. So... she was being nice enough to even offer to take a complete stranger on a trip with her and her family. He would have been teary eyed if he wasn't so happy.
"I wouldn't want to impose," he began, shifting a bit, "However I think that would be utterly amazing. And if you would be willing I'd be happy to go with you. Is there anything I can do to repay you for such kindness?"
