Rosemary had heard plenty about the "bad things" in the court of Hearts. She could only hope that the rumors weren't true. Coming to the Highlands wasn't out of the ordinary, but walking into the Palace was something else entirely. It really was overly decorated. She would never understand the taste of Highlanders. That or this was all just for show, horribly tacky show, but show none the less. It was a bit intimidating walking out down the hallways, clearly out of place. She nervously played with her tongue piercing. Honestly, she missed being a real white Tulgey. Would Rhi even recognize her? Taking a deep breath she stopped outside of the door. This was supposed to be where she was--at least that's what one of the guards had told her. Knocking on the door carefully she took a few steps back. "Uh... Is Rhiannon there?"Forge would have rolled his eyes if he had been in human form. Instead he mentally poked the Wolf-Squirrel to stop being so bloody anxious. There wasn't anything really to worry about.

The swivel-chair was fun. It was strange, but fun. Apocalypse sat in it, his feet atop the desk that was now his. In theory. He still wasn't entirely sure. He let it spin slightly, staring up at the ceiling. Then he pushed himself in the other direction. Back and forth. Wheee. He was still supposed to have an official meeting with Xiven, something that both of them were continuing to put off. After all, talking about what he was to be would involve talking about something that neither of them really felt ready to deal with. Even his sum... weapon had been quiet about it. In fact, she'd been quiet about almost everything, something that made Apocalypse simmer with quiet rage. It wasn't his fucking fault. He hadn't done anything to make it happen. But he knew why she was mad: She was mad because he didn't feel any regret over it. Why should he? The knock at the door tore him away from his thoughts, and for a moment he froze. When he heard the timid knock at the door he felt a moment of curiosity. Who could be asking for him? Then he heard the voice ask for him, and he cursed inwardly, feeling the anger bubble right back to where it had been before. He pushed himself out of his seat and crossed the room, opening the door wide even as he felt the first inklings of Rhiannon stirring in his mind, coming forward. Who wants to see me, Pale? Who is it?He ignored her for now. This was the first time she'd said anything to him for a week and he wasn't in the best of moods. When he saw the old-paper colored Club outside, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. It didn't matter that she was a Queen. " This isn't Rhiannon's room anymore. It's mine. Even if it was her room, she doesn't want to talk to anyone. Can I help you?"

Her ears flickered at the man's comment. He didn't sound particularly happy. Not to mention he looked like he could pop her head off like a daisy.
"Don't let the asshat get you down. You're here to see your friend."
For once she was thankful for Forge. She bowed her head slightly. "I'm sorry. I was told this is where she would be." She gave the man a small smile. Hearts. By nature they were all stuck up, and she couldn't particularly blame them. However she had a mission and she wasn't going to let this bastard win.
"I'm Rosemary. And I've heard quite a few rumors about things in the courts, I just wanted to... catch up with my friend. And I don't mean to be rude but how exactly do you know she doesn't want to talk to anyone?" She gave him a wider smile. Hopefully this would be annoying enough to get what she wanted.

Something about this whole situation made a vein above Apocalypse's eye pulse. He still didn't know himself how to deal with what had happened. After all, he didn't want word to get out too far as to what had happened. It was bad enough getting stares from all the people who had known him from before, let alone dealing with Rhiannon's family. Now he had to deal with her old friends, too? Friends who were Clubs, at that? It seemed like a bad dream that would never end.
He opened his mouth to make an off-colored comment and slam the door in the wolf-squirrel's face, but before he could speak he felt Rhiannon's presence again. "Pale, it's Rose... She's my friend. Please, please let her in. I want to talk to her.". He closed his mouth abruptly, wincing as his teeth sunk slightly into his cheek. Damnit. He held his hand up to his injured mouth, glancing at Rosemary the whole time. "Shoulda thought about that before you went and killed yourself, dumbass."
All the same, he stepped aside without a word, keeping the door open and ushering the woman inside. If she'd been such a good friend, then she deserved to know, his anger with Rhiannon not withstanding. "Come on inside, then, hurry up. I don't feel like talking in the hall." He decided against saying anything more, instead turning and walking back to the desk. "And close the door behind you."

Rosemary was suspicious. How couldn't she be? This man was just parading around like he owned the place. (Okay. He owned the room but he was still acting pretty cocky for just owning the room.) And suddenly he decided to let her in.
Clearly something was going on. Her heart skipped a beat. Was Rhi all right? She stuffed back the worries as she nodded and muttered. "All right."
She slipped into the room, making sure her tail was in with her before kicking the door, which made a rather nice crashing sound as it slammed shut. The wolf squirrel ignored any growls or glares she got. "All right. What's going on and where the hell is Rhi? Who are you?"
Forge was curious too. And he wasn't about to remind the woman about manners. She had been pretty depressed lately, so seeing herself stand up for what she believed in was an added bonus. Plus, he was here to protect her if worse came to worse.

When the man reached his desk he simply flopped back into the chair, waiting until he heard the sound of the door closing before he swivelled around in his chair to look at her. His vivid red-orange eyes were sharp, and they locked on her. The man steepled his fingers, listening to her speak, giving no outward indication of his feelings other than the slightest furrowing of his eyebrows. "She didn't... didn't always look like this. I... she told me that there was some incident involving a book or something, this must be what it did. Oh, Rose..."
For some reason, the sight of the woman combined with Rhiannon's reaction to her made Apocalypse angry. His love, his -weapon-, had barely spoken to him since they'd returned, and then they'd fought. And yet... this Rosemary, weird looking and a Club and a Tulgey had waltzed in and Rhiannon had opened like a book.
So he took several deep breaths, calming himself even as this -tramp- snapped at him, eyes narrowing slighly. How was he even supposed to answer her questions? If she'd been Rhiannon's friend, then she should know who he was... Maybe she did. Maybe Rhiannon had told her about him through letters. He hadn't paid that much attention to her writings, but it was worth a shot. He felt a slight confirmation, almost like a nod. It'd at least simplify things on his side.
"I'm Apocalypse." he answered, the words clipped and short. Then he waited for her response.

He seemed perfectly calm about this. It just added to her annoyance. This man was toying with her. Stupid Hearts and their damn egos. She could feel her ears burning as she glared at him.
And then he said two simple words.
That didn't make any sense at all.
Apocalypse? Wasn't that the name of Rhi's weapon? Wasn't that the scythe that she had carried and managed to get a human form for? She had been so terribly proud, and happy about him too. There was no way this ass could be her precious weapon. This man was clearly a ranked card. A King of Hearts.
"Don't. Fuck. With. Me." Rosemary growled, her ears pressed down against her skull, the tip of her tail was curled. "That's impossible! You're clearly a Card! Now tell me where is she? I'm not going to play games!"
Forge was rather surprised. It had been a long time since he had seen Rosemary this agitated at anything. Normally she didn't get riled up but.... well. She had every reason to be worried. She would have done the same thing for Xylia, Mia or family.
Meanwhile there was someone spying on the entire situation. A familiar purple haired woman was in the hallway listening to every word.

The play of emotions going across the Tulgey's face was oddly satisfying and it was hard for him to keep from grinning. Of course, Rhiannon was saddened by his reaction and that brought him down again, so his smile went right back to the scowl he'd been wearing the first time he'd looked at the Club. For some reasons, the things she was saying just made him more and more angry, until finally, he slammed his hand down hard onto the top of the desk.
"How fucking astute of you to notice! You want to see her so badly? Really?" he stood rather abruptly, his human form towering above her. Had she worn a biped form this wouldn't have been the case... but he'd make do with staring down the animal. His fists clenched and unclenched, and that damn vein was right back to its throbbing.
Being alive was rather frustrating, in some ways. He hadn't remembered to eat anything the day before and he was still suffereing from it.
He raised his hands to the marking and, for the first time since the change had occured, pulled. It took almost all of his concentration, brining forth the magic, even though it was his now. The scythe materialized in his hands and he gripped it tightly, hands sliding across the shaft that had once been his. "Say hello. See? She was here all the time and you just didn't notice!" He knew that Rhiannon hadn't quite managed the ability to take on a human shape, just as he was still spotty on using her magic. If she tried, he'd just unsummon her. He wasn't ready to look at her face just yet.
"Asshole.[/color]"
Bitch.

She jumped a bit in surprise at his exclamation. She arched her back and readied herself for the worst. But she was hardly prepared for what happened next.
Her heart skipped a beat as she watched the scythe appear. That was Rhi's scythe. That couldn't be possible. It couldn't be possible at all. She backed up wide eyed and shocked at the sight in front of her. Rosemary was clearly choking on her words as she tried to say something.
Out of reflex she summoned Forge, who appeared behind her in human form. The normally bright and happy red head had a displeased look on his face as he grabbed his summoner by the back of the neck, taking her out of the range of the man "just in case."
"You're a real jackass, you know that?" He said rather flatly. "Rosemary came all the way out here to see her friend and you just have to be condescending and spiteful. Clearly everyone needs to have a talk with someone--and you need to pull your head out of your ass."
He rolled his eyes and nudged Rosemary with his foot. 'Pull yourself together. I know your shocked but falling apart now isn't going to help anything.'
"But this doesn't make any sense...." she whimpered as her eyes remained locked on the scythe.

Apocalypse wanted to punch the snarky redhead right in his stupid, freckly face. He would laugh, then. It would finally take out some of the massive frustrations he'd been building up over the last several weeks. He dropped the scythe, using the ability to whisk it away to wherever it was that they went, hearing Rhiannon's protests as he clenched his fists.
He was a second away from throwing a punch when he felt a slight twist in his gut, dropping his hands to the side. As irritating as the other summoned weapon's face was, he knew that fighting him would do nothing to make him feel better.
"Isn't that precious? You have a weapon too, I see. Get out. This isn't Rhiannon's room anymore, not her fucking life, and I won't have her old friends come in and insult me to my face." he stared at the other man for a moment, mouth twitching into an angry sneer, showing fang. "It's not my fault she didn't bother to check before she travelled all this way. If Rhiannon hadn't tried to kill herself like a selfish bitch, then maybe things would be the way they're supposed to be."
"Pale..."
Shut up. Just... shut up..
He stood perfectly still, staring at the man and woman, fury hot in his eyes. Oh, Apocalypse was furious. It might have been fine, if he hadn't laid eyes on what must have been another weapon. It might have been fine, if she'd just taken his words at face value and left.
