Heilyn hadn't really been looking forward to this day. She would never put the day off, using some excuse to push back the inevitable. It was cowardice. It was useless. It would make a terrible waste. There was plenty of warning given. Plenty of options made available. Plenty of opportunities. Too many goddamned hand outs. It was enough. In Heilyn's mind, she'd been too lenient. Well, the day had come. Heilyn never made a promise or a threat if she didn't intended to go through with it. She loved the girl, she really did. It pained her to see her go to waste. She knocked on the door in front of her. "Tegan? There's something I need to talk to you about."

It was roughly two in the afternoon and Tegan was still considering getting out of bed. It just felt so good to sleep in. It wasn't as though she really had anything to do today. Well, there was studying. And the stupid essay. Maybe. She'd already read through the damned book. She could answer all questions asked on the subject. Why'd she have to write a damned paper on it? Busy work is what it was. The lowly little 10 of a tutor trying to lord what authority he liked to pretend he had over her. She twitched and furrowed her brow when the knock and her mother's voice sounded through the room. She growled. Suddenly she didn't want to get up anymore. "How about later, Mom?" she called back, "I'll find you later today, how about that?" she smiled and closed her eyes.

Heilyn scowled at the door. The little bitch. Of course. Of course she would hold everyone to a schedule that was convenient to her. Make everyone else wait for her. It was shit like this that just pissed her off. Heilyn blinked slowly and sighed, though more out of frustration at herself than at Tegan. She'd done something wrong raising her. Well, she was making it right today. Right now.
"That wasn't a request, dear," she answered back and tried to open the door. Her lip twitched. It was her every right to lock her door. It was just incredibly inconvenient right now. Ah well. Not like it was going to be her door after today.
The woman took a step back then kicked the door with her heavy boot. The latch ripped through the frame and the door itself cracked a bit, a foot-shaped area of splintered wood remained where she'd kicked it. She walked in and sat herself on the foot of Tegan's bed. She pulled out a small pouch and tossed it at Tegan. The sound of coins sounded as it flew through the air and landed on the bed.
This SD can now unleash rather brutal physical attacks. By concentrating her energy into an attack such as a punch or a kick, she can unleash twice her normal strength in a quick burst of energy. She can get about 5 of these hits out in a day, 10 if she feels like being exhausted for the remainder of the afternoon. She can also use this defensively. When activated, running into her would be like running into a brick wall, tripping someone could result in quite an amazing flip before they hit the ground. Also, this is a hand-to-hand technique only. Unless the weapon in hand is magical, it would most likely break under the pressure.

Tegan scoffed at Heilyn's words. Yeah, uhuh. Sure. She smirked as she heard the door knob wiggle then silence. Yeah, that's right. This little meeting will have to happen later. Just like I said.
At the crash, splintering wood, and sudden flood of light, Tegan gasped and jumped a good two feet in surprise. Her heart was pounding as she stood on her bed, staring in absolute shock, her mouth hanging open, as her mother just waltzed in with a calm expression on her face, sat down on her bed, and threw what appeared to be a bag of money at her. She made a few small noises as she searched for words. She moved her whole head rather than just her eyes as her stared twitched between her mother, the destroyed door, and the bag of money on the bed.
"Whu-- What the HELL is your PROBLEM?!" she screeched back, a little out of control, "And what the hell is THAT?" she jabbed her nose in the direction of the bag.

Heilyn waited and watched. According to the rules of etiquette it was Tegan's turn to speak, after all. Heilyn disliked one-sided conversations. Only crazy people talked to themselves. Heilyn, clearly, was not one of those. Okay, that was done. It was Heilyn's turn to talk now.
"It's your birthday money. Happy eighteenth, Tegan," she said, expression blank. She would have liked to have been able to smile. Eighteen was a big year. The year was was officially considered an adult in most places. However, Heilyn just wasn't able to get anything out other than just the words. "I know you wanted something a little more personal but trust me, this is much more practical." She stood up to pace. Dammit all. The whole situation put her on edge. It wasn't easy, but she took a breath and continued anyway.
"We both know I am not a person who goes back on her word. I really hope you remember the conversation we had before regarding this day."

Tegan's face shifted from surprise to disbelief. Mom broke down her door so she could trespass to throw money at her? Honestly, the things I put up with... She stared at the small bag for a bit then shook her head.
"Yeah... thanks. I'll treasure it always," she muttered as Heilyn continued yammering. What in the hell was she going on about? Practical? Remember? Remember what exactly? She gave a snotty little sneer expressing very clearly that Heilyn was making crazy talk.
Then slowly it started coming back to her. Her sneer melted as snippets of a conversation she'd only half listened to started coming back. She scoffed again, though there was an undertone of disbelief and a touch of fear.
"Heh. You... You can't be serious," she said, her words somewhat shaky.

Heilyn ignored the girl's muttering. At times like these, Heilyn honestly felt like slapping the girl. However, she'd only just sent a request for a guard to come up before this confrontation. She'd had a feeling she would require their services to help escort Tegan out. The longer this went on, the more it was becoming obvious she wasn't going without a fight.
"If you ever pay attention to anyone other than yourself, you would know that I am rarely not serious. I was sober when we spoke yes? What makes you think I wouldn't follow through? Really now Tegan, you're smarter than that." Heilyn was pleased she'd been able to keep the snap out of her voice. She'd been... slipping lately. Not as much now that Spekkio decided to let herself be known, and it seemed to be getting better, even.
"Now, pack what's most important to you. I have a carriage waiting for you to take you to the next town. From there you should be able to find your own way," she stated simply. She wanted to give more advice, but she knew it would only make the girl's temper flare.

Tegan grit her teeth. The truth hurt much more than she cared to admit, especially to herself. After all, Tegan was too great and wonderful for anything bad to be her fault. Well, anything bad happening to her, anyway. In reality, she should have seen this coming. She should have done something about it, but the should haves never happened, and now this is what she was left with. Her eyes narrowed.
"And if I don't?" she challenged, her voice coming out much more childish than she'd really intended. Her large Bat-ears twitched. Someone else was approaching. The footsteps were heavy on the bass, but light on the touch. A big person with a light step? There were only a few people in the whole palace that fit that description. Who..?

Alaster blinked when the request came to him. Her Highness was... asking for him specifically? To (he gulped) come to her personal chambers? He nodded, left the poker game in the barracks, and went up, turning over this odd event. Why would she...? Of course there was the overriding fantasy that she had a bottle of wine, lit candles, and silky lingerie waiting for him, but there had to be something else. That would be too sudden, too impulsive. Perhaps she had a visitor that was too rude and was not leaving by her request? Hmm, that didn't sound right. She was quite good at letting other people know they weren't welcome and getting them to adhere to her wishes. Maybe she's more impulsive than he'd originally thought? No! nono... Don't think like that... He'd turned over several idea before just shoving his thoughts aside as he walked, dipping his head slightly with each lengthy, high step. He reached the door and paused for a moment before knocking. "Your Highness? You requested me?"

Heilyn raised an eyebrow at her little quip.
"Then I'll send you out of here with nothing, save that bag of money," she stated bluntly, annoyance creeping into her voice, "If I get around to it, I will guess at what you can't do with out and send one bag to you, wherever you end up," there was a knock at the door. Did not acknowledge it other than making a mental note that the pawn had arrived. "I really don't know where you got this idea into your head that you're invincible, but you're going to have to learn very soon that you're not. I've taught you everything I can, but apparently that wasn't good enough."
She then turned her head towards the door. "Come in," she called, then stood up to meet him half way.
