(Just getting this out of the way before Theo croaks [cough]. Set in the far future after events.) She had sent letters, made arrangements... Everything was set and she just had to knock... Years after she'd first encountered the handsome Selkie Sparrow for that wonderful evening, Anya was back for a reason she was less than pleased to admit. She'd already been forced to realize so much about herself. There were so many goals she'd lost sight of, so many things she'd let go in order to pursue her own personal desires. She still had daddy's name holding her up and so long as she had a pair of his finest banders than everything would be alright... but she had nevertheless lost sight of her goals. Somehow she'd lost sight of that desire to have her name among those who were the best of the best among Highland Breeder. A breeder of Highland Champs. Where the hell had she gone wrong? A hand to her swollen abdomen said everything. Suits, what she wouldn't give to fix those forgotten dreams and make them hers again, but really... she had other dreams now. An expression touched her face, somewhere between a grimace and a smile. Her children would have to carry on the name then, obtain the goals she wasn't certain she could reach. Swallowing a bit of her pride, Anya lifted a hand and delicately knocked.

Theofilus had gotten a rather curious letter, with news just as curious. The sparrow had sent a response, though brief, saying that he would be more than happy to schedule a meeting. Things were getting complicated. Not like they hadn't been before, but this was something different. Of course he had to get the complete story, but from what he had heard... this wasn't going to get easier. Honestly, he had never expected one of his sons to do something like that. Of course, he often pretended they were still little children. He knew better than that though. He had been looking through a few papers when he heard the knock on the door. Before answering he reached into his drawer to pop his glass eye in. At least he had to look a bit respectable when in a meeting. "Come in," he said as brightly as he could muster.

Anya shivered when she heard his voice, smooth and bright, from the other side of the door. He sounded cheerful... Anya felt horrendously foolish. Putting on her best and most winning smile, one that Theo had undeniably seen before, Anya tentatively pushed open the door and stepped inside. The door was shut softly behind her before Anya made her way any closer, that fetching smile still in place but precariously so.
"Good afternoon, Your Majesty! Thank you for agreeing to see me on such... short notice." Anya found herself blushing, which was painfully obvious under her downy white feathers. The little bump that was no longer easily hidden under her coat also made things horrendously obvious. Swallowing with nerves, Anya clasped her hands together and finally made her way to the chair across from Theo. "It's been a while... How have you been?" She tilted her head slightly, trying to maintain all her poise and grace and suave... even though she felt like a foolish little girl all of a sudden.
Her mind kept screaming at her, over and over... How could she have lost sight of so much? ...How could she be choosing a family over The Family Business? Because Zane was a charming, dashing, wonderful man... and, regardless if she knew it or not, she was a selfish woman. In the end, her happiness meant more than the business.

"It's not a problem," Theofilus responded automatically as he took in the image of the woman before him. He had never really expected for this, of all things, to happen. In all honesty he had never expected to see the woman again. But when had things ever been that simple in his life?
"I've been busy, but I think the more important question is how have you been." Theofilus said with a smile. It was hard to miss the blush, or the little bump that was a clear indication of pregnancy. She was still a pretty young woman, but he could see that she was clearly troubled.
Good going Zane. At least she was a nice woman despite the circumstances. It wasn't awful bringing life into the world, it was just an unexpected change. Hopefully both Zane and Anya were ready for something like this.

Anya felt a little relief at Theo's relaxed aura. He didn't seem angry or anything, especially considering his son's involvement in her request... The Highlander laced her fingers together, careful of her long nails.
"All things considered I've really been quite good." She'd had a bit of falling out with father when she'd announced her decision, but ultimately she was happy. "Zane is a wonderful man." For a moment Anya forgot her nerves and her smile was radiant... and then she remembered the weight in her stomach and she blushed again.
What did Theofilus think of her position? Would he care that she'd slept with both father and son? She hadn't thought of it at the time, she'd been wrapped up in the moment and in Zane... Well, it was obvious that their family just had an affect on her, didn't they?
"The pregnancy was... unexpected, but not unwanted." Anya added both as an announcement and for clarification. Not at all unwanted, despite the issues involved in raising banders while pregnant or around children.

"That's good to hear." Theofilus was more than a little relieved when the woman spoke. As far as he knew Zane hadn't planned on having children anytime soon. Considering his son could barely take care of a bander it made the sparrow worry. Though he had done quite a good job helping with his siblings. Either way these children would have a good family, since Anya seemed to want to be part of it.
"Now, I don't want to keep you very long. You have plenty of things to take care of, I'm sure. Your letter wasn't particularly detailed, but you want two favors?" He asked with a smile.
Theofilus had slowly opened his desk drawer during the conversation. On the top of the pile of assorted things sat a small handkerchief. It was something he had received a while ago and had no use for. Perhaps his son would have more use of it, and Anya could deliver it since she was bound to see him sooner than he would. But that would come last.
(( OOC: Sorry if this SUCKS. @_@ ))

Well, perhaps that was a little lie. There had been a bit of drama at first... How could there not be? Father wasn't happy, not at all, but he would be supportive in the end because she was his little girl... And Zane, he'd just been wonderful and responsible and, yes, a little shocked at first but everything was running smoothly now.
They were happy.
Or she was. Happier than she'd been in a long time, despite this little worry. If she could get the Queen's Favor then perhaps, just perhaps, at least one of her little ones would carry on for her and then Daddy would be happy too... "Yes, two favors would be perfect..." The quetzal smiled fetchingly, running her long nails through her short feathers. "Thank you again, Theofilus..." It was no wonder where Zane had got his charm... Theofilius was obviously an exceptional father.

The sparrow gave the woman a gracious smile. "Very well then," he reached into the desk drawer and pulled out two small packages. One was a neatly wrapped brown package with a small white tag attached to it. The other package was a plain white box that contained the favor for Zane.
"This box has two royal favors in it. You can go to the Capital City and exchange them for two items made to your specification. The craftsmen named Manon is located near the Western Fountain. All you'll need to do is show him the package and he'll no exactly what to do. If you have any problems, just contact me." He set the brown box on the desk in front of him for her to take.
"And this, if you don't mind," he said waving the white box, "Is a favor for Zane. I one this a while bag and never had a proper use for it. I'm sure he could put it to better use." He set that box down as well.
"Oh yes, and since the formalities are over with... since you're part of the family feel free to call me "Dad." if you see fit."

When Theo passed the box over, Anya nearly sighed with relief. Perfect, that was just what she needed. She could give the kids the gifts they needed to fulfill what she couldn't, and then everything would be fine. Everything, and Daddy wouldn't give her that disappointed look every time he saw her...
The second box he pushed over was a bit more cause for interest rather than pure relief, a gift for Zane? She accepted both boxes, nodded politely, and flashed the sparrow a warm smile. "That all sounds wonderful, I'm sure Zane will appreciate the favor." She was about to stand when Theo's words caught her off guard. Formalities over, and...
Why did such a simple comment have her blushing all of a sudden? You can call me 'Dad'. Perhaps it was just finalizing the fact that he honestly accepted her as family? Whatever the case it was nice and Anya wasn't about to deny it.
"Thank you, ...Dad. That would be wonderful, I'm so happy to be a part of the family." Perhaps it was pregnancy and all the new hormones that came with it, but Anya was absolutely beaming with joy just then. So much so that she felt a leaking of wetness against her eyes, though she quickly wiped those away.

Theofilus practically beamed. The idea of having more family just... it was a wonderful idea. More children, more happiness. Of course this meant he was getting older... he stuffed that thought down.
He would have offered her some tea, however the circumstances didn't allow for such a pleasantry. He had heard entirely too many stories about caffeine and pregnancy to allow her to have anything like that. "Perhaps, if you're not too busy, Dear, you could stay for a bit to eat. We do have a bit of catching up to do. If you can't I understand perfectly. I should, honestly, be getting back to work. But in my book family comes first."
The Queen stood, walking around to the opposite side of his desk to meet the other bird. "If you are going to take your leave, I should give you a proper family farewell and at least offer you a hug."
