There was a brief frown on Colin's beak as a small shot of dissapointment went through him...though, he had half expected that answer. After all, perhaps the Court really was too busy for those things...and the Queen may have a private space in which to play her harp, as Ichigo suggested. It was at this point that Colin realized he was half hoping to see the Queen...or maybe hear her play. He nearly laughed at the thought. That was highly unlikely.
But he turned to the mouse, the polite smile back on his beak. "Well, I understand...regrettable, but yes, lunch sounds lovely right about now, actually," Colin replied, realizing now that he thought about it that he hadn't eaten since early that morning, before setting off. "If you would be so kind as to lead us there, Sir, then we'll see what they have to offer." Given that he was in a Court, he imagined the food must be excellent. Not just anyone off the street could be hired to serve food to royalty, after all!

Ichigo nodded and went to lead the way. It wasn't all that far to the kitchen, and since it wasn't quite the lunch hour yet it wouldn't be all that busy. The mouse hummed quietly as he walked down the halls, taking several turns until they reached their destination.
"This is the back entrance, I just use this one so I don't get in the way." He said to the cardinal as he stood to the side, opening the door and allowing him to enter first. The kitchen was rather large, and at the moment there were only two or so people in it, getting ready for the rush.
One of the staff noticed the entrance of the Villa and the mouse. The canine woman gave them a cheerful smile. "The mid-range mouse has a guest, this must be a special occasion. What will you two be having today?"
Ichigo nodded for Colin to go first.
(( OOC: .... XD hey, would you mind terribly if I messed up Ichigo in front of Colin? ))

Even though all the corridors looked fairly similar, Colin still couldn't get over the grandiose architecture...all set in stark tones that he thought bore a certain elegance. His eyes happily roved the walls and rooms they passed, though he was also careful to keep an eye out for any other Court members or staff they might pass, giving a polite nod to each of these. His claws beat out a steady rhythem on the polished floor as he followed the mouse, and he nodded as they reached the entrance. "Makes perfect sense," he reasoned, stepping inside and moving to stand politely to the side.
"Good day to you, ma'am," he greeted the cook who approached, returning her smile. "I believe I will have whatever you recommend." He generally found that easiest, especially as he was trained to eat whatever was put in front of him, even if he didn't like it. Though he was sure he would. With how tight a ship the Queen ran around here, all her staff would know how to do their jobs, one of which was surely to prepare food for indecisive, peckish royalty.
((ooc: XD Sounds fun, go ahead.))

"All right, I'll put you down for today's special. Will you be having your usual Ichigo?" She glanced at the mouse who simply nodded. She smiled, "It'll be done in fifteen minutes, you can take a seat on those stools over there if you like."
The woman hurried off to fulfill the order.
Motioning to Colin, Ichigo went to the seats that were offered they might as well make themselves comfortable. He stopped when he slipped on something. The mouse raised an eyebrow at the little silver ring as he picked it up to inspect it. Perhaps one of the kitchen staff lost it?
He slipped it on his, mostly to keep the thing safe since he didn't have any pockets. Unfortunately he... got a rather odd feeling as soon as it slipped into place. With a frown he tried to pull off the ring, only it didn't want to remove itself from his finger. "What...?" he muttered, before trying to pry the tiny silver piece off of his finger.
Only to regret it. He let out a rather shocked yell when he felt an overwhelming pain in his right arm. He collapsed rather quickly when the arm started withering, and ice started forming. It would be an excruciating ten minutes for the mouse, as he cried on the floor.

"Thank you, I look forward to trying it," Colin said genially, smiling back and raising a wing in salute as the woman dashed off. He briefly wondered what Ichigo's usual was, but he'd find out soon enough anyway, he supposed. He nodded to the mouse at the gesture, taking unhurried steps after him towards the stools...out of the corner of his eye, he saw the mouse stop and fiddle with something he must have found on the floor, but thought nothing of it, moving a chair out to take a seat...when he heard the startled yell.
Quickly, the cardinal whirled around, trying to see what had caused the mouse's exclaimation. He let out a startled cry of his own as he saw his friend flat on the floor, clutching his right arm. "Ichigo? What..." Hurrying back towards the guard, Colin stopped short, eyes wide, as he saw something really strange happening to the apparently pained arm. Was that...ice that was forming on the limb?
"Excuse me! Someone get a Court doctor, quickly! This man needs help!" Colin shouted, waving his wings frantically and managing to send a few servants scattering as they hurried to comply. Colin, meanwhile, ran back over and knelt by the writhing mouse, eyes wide and worried. "Hold on, friend, help is on the way," he assured him, though the more he watched the bizarre, obviously magical transformation, the less he was sure they would be able to do anything. Especially if they took a while to get here! What had even caused this...oddity? And now Colin wished he'd been watching better when Ichigo stooped to pick something up...obviously, that something had been a cursed item of some sort!

It was ten long and painful minutes before the doctor arrived, and by that time Ichigo was half way between being unconscious and crying miserably. He had no idea what was going on, and couldn't even attempt to focus on Colin's voice.
A coat of ice had formed over his limb by the time the doctor burst into the room. Several of the cooks were hovering along side Colin, watching the mouse twitch on the floor. The doctor looked rather horrified at the scene, he knelt down to check on the mouse.
"I think... we should take him to the infirmary," The doctor said motioning to one of the kitchen staff to help lift the mouse. It didn't take entirely too much effort beyond making sure the now awkwardly frozen limb didn't hang. The walk to the infirmary was a seemingly long one for the mouse as he struggled to get over the pain he had felt.
Hopefully this wasn't too much of an inconvenience for Colin. This would be a horrible way to enjoy such a wonderful trip to the palace...
(( OOC: <3 feel free to move them wherever/however/etc. The doctor is currently not paying attention to where Colin is unless he speaks up.))

"Ichigo, just hold on! Someone will be here soon. Just...just hold on. Ohhh, that looks painful...how did that even happen?"
After several minutes of waiting, Colin's anxious prattle gave way to an agitated silence, as the bird hopped nervously from foot to foot. This was not a sort of magic he'd dealt with before, not that he'd dealt with very much of the stuff, and he could only hope the Court doctors were skilled enough to do something for the mouse.
Finally, the doctor came, and Colin breathed a sigh of relief, though it caught in his throat when he saw what the guard's arm looked like now. Like it had just spent a night in Solandrian Glacier. Eugh. Not knowing what else to do, and not wanting to get lost, Colin followed the doctor, a bit unsure of himself. No longer was he paying attention to all the finery and beauty of the Court; he only had eyes for the poor mouse.
He kept wanting to say something, but he didn't want to interrupt anything, and the doctor just looked so...distracted and worried, as they walked. But as they arrived at the door to what Colin could only assume was the infirmary, he cleared his throat a little nervously and addressed the doctor. "Excuse me, Sir, but I was wondering if there was some way I could be of assistance? You see, this is a friend of mine, and he happened to be showing me around your lovely Court when this unfortunate mishap occurred," he explained, waving a wing sadly in emphasis. "I'm afraid I don't know what happened, but the limb you see encased in ice has been steadily accumulating the stuff over the past half hour. I do hope he won't get frostbite or anything else nasty..." His beak formed a worried frown at the thought.

The doctor handed Ichigo off to one of the aids, as they set him on one of the bed the mouse gave a rather pathetic squeak of pain. His ears were furiously twitching as he tired to get his bearings, the pain was still lingering as everything went numb.
The doctor jumped as he heard the voice of the bird. He listened with a tilt of his head. He raised an eyebrow as Colin described what happened. Herm. Fascinating. "It would seem your friend must have stumbled upon some sort of curse. This seems to be rather powerful magic. I've never quite seen something like this before. We'll just have to play it by ear. If you would like we could get someone to escort you to his room... and you can wait there."
Ichigo opened his watery eyes and tired to stand up, only to find that his left arm was very much covered in ice, and he couldn't feel what should be his arm. "Colin...?" he asked not daring to look around. He just kept his eyes straight ahead, the glint of ice in the corner of his eye.

Colin nodded seriously at the doctor's words. So he had been right, it was a curse, and...oh dear. Oh no. I've never seen something like this before? Play it by ear? He didn't like the sound of that. Not one bit. Nervously, the cardinal shifted from one foot to the other, hopping slightly. Go to Ichigo's room...? He glanced at the mouse on the bed, who looked only half conscious. He began a nod and started to open his beak to respond that perhaps he should be escorted somewhere that wasn't so private as a room when he heard his name.
With an impressive dive, sending a few feathers fluttering to the ground, Colin was instantly kneeling near the cursed mouse. "Ichigo, I'm right here, don't worry." His blue eyes looked earnestly into his friend's. "It will be okay." How much did the mouse remember of what had happened? He decided to avoid mentioning the icy curse for now, and avoided looking at the affected arm.

Ichigo brain slowly processed what was happening. He gave Colin a rather confused look as he tried to remember what had exactly happened. Why couldn't he feel his arm? Why couldn't he move his fingers? His tail swished as he moved to stand up.
Someone pressed down on his back. "No no. You shouldn't stand quite yet." They muttered. The doctor released him when he stopped pushing and walked over to one of the medical storage cabinets.
Ichigo's ears twitched as he slowly looked towards the trouble area. What he saw was enough to make his eyes go wide with shock. His arm was very much encased in ice, and from the looks of it... there wasn't much left of his actual arm inside of it.
"What... the hell happened to me?" he asked no one in particular. He looked towards Colin with a miserable expression. He shouldn't have to stay here. Someone should have just showed him around the Palace while he was here. "I'm sorry Colin. It looks like I'm not going to be able to finish the tour with you."
