"Oh good," Loreta said with a smirk. "And yes, she has quite a few secrets that she'd never share with anyone. Frankly if her dear sweet brother was still around I don't think she would be half as crazy as she is about keeping people's privacy."
It really was a shame he was gone. Oh well. It wasn't like anyone could bring back the dead. The heron lightly tapped her bat against her own shoulder in contemplation. Technically she had a few errands to do, but she could avoid them for a little while. Talking for a bit wouldn't kill her.
"You should meet my son Kaden. Since you seem to be into stalking people you and him could probably sneak around and cause some appropriate chaos. If you do stop by Corvistowne and he's in, I'll introduce you." She gave a half shrug. Blythe continued to watch Eldy like a hawk, unsure of what to make of her.

"Hmm." Eldryia's look turned to a contemplative frown as she considered the possibility. She didn't think her mother was as crazy as others saw her, personally, but she did have her quirks. And she had to...really wonder what would be different, in that case...
"Perhaps...did you...know her brother, then?" Eldy looked up at the heron, curious. Mother had a certain reluctance to discuss her dead sibling, for perfectly understandable reasons, but it didn't stop Eldy from wanting to know more about someone who would have been her uncle, had he lived to see her birth. Perhaps then, he could have helped his sister raise her and Xiven...after all, who could she trust better than her own brother to keep her secrets?
"Oh? He likes stalking people too?" she asked, laughing a bit and giving Lora a subtle once over. For some reason, though she didn't seem the type to really have kids, it wasn't as surprising as it might be that she had a son. Catching the Tove staring at her, she merely raised an eyebrow at it, before continuing her conversation like before. "Well, I look forward to meeting him, if I get the chance, then."

The subject of Peaches' brother had always been a bitter one for the heron. Basil had been her first honest to goodness crush, and he had never returned the feelings. In fact she could have sworn the boy was too infatuated by his own sister to actually have any sort of romantic relationship. Though she knew full well he had been quite the active man whore in their little village.
The heron gave a shrug. "Yes. He was a character. Ask your Mom about him sometime, and I'm sure she'd be happy to tell you." That was a lie.
"My boy is somewhere between a spy and a show off. I'm not entirely sure what he plans to do with the rest of his life, but I certainly hope he doesn't end up a criminal." She snorted. "Does your mother know what you're doing anyway?"

Eldryia gave Lore a flat look. As Peaches' child, didn't the heron realize just how many times Eldy had tried in vain to ask about her dead uncle? It didn't take a Diamond to see through that lie. Heh. "Yeah. Sure," she deadpanned, and just barely stopped herself from making some crack about that being as likely as the heron wanting to discuss her weird leg. She shook her head, decided to drop it, and wondered if she'd ever meet anyone for whom this wouldn't a sore subject.
She laughed a bit at the description. "Well, it sounds like he's a spirited youth, at any rate," she said, tail twitching in amusement. She raised an eyebrow, not phased by the question. "In general or right at this moment? Because the answers are yes, and no. Yes, she knows I'm out travelling around, no she doesn't know I'm in the Capital, talking to an old friend of hers. Though..." Her expression turned thoughtful. "You never know with my mom...she could be spying on us right now and we just haven't noticed." With all that had been going on lately and her mother's pregnancy, though, she doubted that.

Loreta stopped in her tracks to look at the feline. It was a cross between a glare and rolling her one good eye. "Basil is a tough subject for your mother. And I can see why. You're just as stupid as he is in some aspects."
She started moving again, shifting her bat to her other shoulder, her Tove gliding to the other shoulder gracefully. He peered down at the cat, as if to glare at her as well. Of course he didn't have facial expressions, so he simply looked as if he was staring blankly at her. Just as antisocial as his owner.
"Eh well. That answers the question. And I doubt she's spying on us even if she is a slippery bastard. She sent me an apology letter about how she can't come to a little party I was going to have. Something about being knocked up again." She glanced at Eldy. "No offense or anything. Your mom just hates the idea of being pregnant. Children never were her thing."

Eldy returned a slightly cold look to the heron, though it was more wary than anything else. How exactly was she supposed to take that...? Though if her mother saw her that way too, it might explain some of the over-protectiveness she'd shown over the years to her hidden daughter. The Tove she just rolled her eyes at. Honestly, what had she ever done to it, for it to look at her like she was some sort of...dangerous person? She was only a Six! But she quickly checked that train of thought. The trap of thinking someone of a low Rank couldn't possibly be dangerous was not one she wanted to fall into, not now and not ever. Though it would be useful for other people to fall into it around her, she admitted. Well, once she actually got some other abilities or a weapon or something. One thing about Hearts was that they -did- tend to be the most dangerous suit, even at low Ranks.
"Heh, oh yes. She found out about that one shortly before I left." Eldy chuckled darkly. Though she was still rather proud of her and her sister's methods of finally getting her mom to accept help with this litter. Geez. The woman was damn stubborn when she wanted to be. "No offense taken, she's told me that often enough herself. She considers herself a horrible parent though...I think Xiven and I turned out all right, considering the Court of Hearts is not the best place for a child in the best of times, let alone with some of the crap that's gone on there during my lifetime." She shook her head a bit. She may tease her mom about her child-rearing abilities, but deep down she had great respect for the woman's tenacity. Not that she would probably ever admit that out loud. Blarg, sappiness was overrated.

Peaches was a pretty horrible parent even when she tried hard. Then again Loreta was one to talk. It wasn't like she could actually get her little monster to behave. Even after getting him a tutor he had managed to frighten several away. And now he was still being a delinquent.
The Court of Hearts was a mess. The state of it was utterly ridiculous, and personally she was half tempted to go there herself to apply for a job. Someone might need a good bit of beating. She couldn't help but wonder why no one had done anything to fix the court of Hearts... but from what Peaches said it wasn't that easy.
But Loreta believed that everything could be solved with a little bit of proper violence. A baseball bat to the jaw would change anyone's outlook on life. She snorted at the girl. "So I hear. Weren't you the child your father knew nothing about?"

Eldryia tried very hard not to get involved in Court politics, because they were a huge mess and she was pretty sure everyone knew it. And to make it worse, there was always additional drama going on, whether from some relationship, someone getting knocked up, or some sort of scandal, there was always -something-. A bat to the head may be just what was needed, though Eldy knew she wasn't the type to start anything. Not yet anyway. She preferred to work more subtly, much like her mom did, though perhaps without all the crazy. Hopefully.
The cat sighed, ear going back again at the partial question. "Yes, I was. He never knew of my existence. Of course, that was by design, since he would have sooner killed a low-ranking child of his than let it live in the Court and bring disgrace upon his Suit or...whatever." She shook her head, still not entirely sure oh Pravus's reasons for holding to such strict guidelines for his kids. And if she had been born Highlands instead of Torque, there was a good chance he would have considered her somewhat worth it. This made her sneer more than be upset, though. Didn't his time spent with her mother teach him -anything?-
((ooc: sorry if this sucks, heh...>_> Stuff.))

"Sounds like a real prick," Loreta mumbled. Peaches really knew how to pick them. And somehow she had managed to hide the kid for all those years. That was pretty amazing. THe thought made her snort. Kaden would have been killed if that was the case, considering how low ranked he was born.
And she considered herself a bad parent, but now she would dismiss the very idea. Compared to someone who would kill their child over something as trivial as rank she was a saint. Which was probably saying a lot. "The Courts seemed to be a mess. I'm sorely tempted to pay your mother a nice little visit to scare the pants off of some of the nobles there. The last time I went there it was pretty... special." She had actually told a noble to fuck himself. And she really hoped he wouldn't still be around. if she went back.

"Mmm." Eldy didn't know what to really say to that one beyond the noncommittal noise. On the one hand, she would actually tend to agree with that assessment of Pravus. On the other...well, he was her father and...she really wished there had been a way to meet him without putting herself in mortal peril. It was too late now of course...for all the good and bad that came with that. Her tail twitched as she eyed a weapon shop they were passing, thinking about when she used to sneak down to the dungeon and hide in the shadows to watch her father work...she'd been caught once, but not by her father, luckily. Not that her run in with Mephista had been very...pleasant. Ugh. Time to stop thinking about that.
"You know, a number of people would possibly thank you for that. Some of the nobles need a good whack upside the head," Eldy said with a small smirk, thinking about Apocalypse. She was still somewhat sore at him for what he'd done to her. It had only been a few days ago after all.
