Rhiannon stared at the cat as he babbled, her expression flashing through a thousand emotions in a second. For an instant, she almost recoiled from him... but she remembered. He'd brought her back... and she'd lost something too, hadn't she? Her entire body, utterly whole again, but for the thumb of her wing..

Two and two were four, and she understood. For everything that was given, something had to be taken - hadn't she learned that when she'd just been a child in school?

She pressed her body against Lior's, moving so that her cold snout was against his palm, planting a firm kiss there. She could smell his panic from a mile away. "Let's... let's go to the room, Lior,[/b]" she whispered, ears flicking back and pinning to the back of her head. "We'll put some distance between you and her. It'll be okay.[/b]"

He could resist the urge, she was sure. At least, she hoped he was.

Lior didn't deserve the love or understanding of this beautiful woman. Nonetheless, he had it, a fact that Rhi had made clear time and time again. He tried to calm his quick breathing to something more normal, not really succeeding, and nodded his head shakily. "Okay. Y-yes, that sounds like a good idea. Get away... I need to be away from her. Maybe it'll calm down. I don't know. I can't think. I-it's awful."

He swallowed hard and waited another moment, until he was absolutely certain that they wouldn't run into Treasa and Pale on their way to the room. Then he wrapped his cloak more tightly around himself and shivered before moving forward. Oh Hills, was he going to be able to do this? He didn't know... would it get better? Worse? If it got any stronger, he didn't think he could take it anymore. What he didn't know about was the sleep deprivation.
