Elias rushed into the chamber he'd ordered prepared on the way. He'd been lying about Rai's death to those gathered to watch the macabre spectacle that was the Challenge for Queenship of the Court of Hearts. It sounded capitalized in Elias' mind, at any rate. Yes, he'd been lying to prevent Perseus from coming back and finishing off the unconscious stallion, but it was only a slim lie. El had made sure Elyse was on hot standby when he left, discarding his social invisibility when he approached the meeting point. "Fast," was all he'd managed when he found her, loading Shinrai into the carriage and climbing in next to him. She'd been trying her hardest to keep him alive ever since, pushing the stamina of both Clubs. There might be hope, but whatever bloody poison Ira had substituted for Se's venom of choice, it didn't seem to be any better. "Are you going to be able to get what you need here?" Elias asked. "Let me know what you need." He didn't need to emphasize how serious he was about this, how much it meant to him.

The waiting had been nerve racking and many times over she had used the time to make sure that everything was in order and ready to go for their arrival. After the wedding ceremony of her half brother and his wife, she and Khloris had stayed around at the Court from a request. When Elias arrived, bundle in hand, she was quick to act, not needing to be told twice. As the two settled themselves into the carriage she quickly set about checking the condition of her newest patient, getting the info of everything that had happened. "I do not see this to be anything that I can not handle, though I am not sure of wot the exact outcome will be. Only time can tell on that one. For now everything that is vital for now is here, once we get to our destination I will have everything else." But she would definitely do her best for the man, her second father.

Elias nodded. She would do everything she could, which was really all one could ask of another. It didn't seem enough to Elias, because the fact that he was so close to Shinrai gave extra weight to the situation, but he could only be fair, and trying to unfairly push for more than could be delivered wouldn't help. He stepped into the hall and summond two guards. "Nobody is to come in here unless cleared by me. That includes the two of you. Everyone stays out. I'll contact anyone that might need entrance." With that, he dismissed the guards to watch the door. Things would only be as safe for Whip as he could make them. He would want a weapon at some point, and made a note to get away to shop. His kukri was nice for work in the wilderness, and did fine in a pinch, but he had to get closer than he preferred in order to wield it. That would have to wait, though. Making sure that no expense would be spared would be his first priority. He really didn't like the knife wound, and what the poison in the blade, or whatever was on there, might have done to the stallion. "Keep me posted, and let me know if there's anything you have trouble getting to help. No expenses spared." His voice was still tired sounding, though he fought to keep a professional and strong exterior.

((My brain couldn’t keep up with what was happening, so sorry if this is back pedaling a little bit ^ ^;)When they arrived at the Club Court she had the body gently removed and rushed to the room that Elias had prepared for them. During the ride she had been able to clean up some of the worse wounds, controlling the blood flow from the stab wound. Washing her hands she set about gently removing her patient’s shirt and shoes. With four arms going – only two to be seen – she was sure to be an odd sight. Having stabilized the more serious wounds on the way in she quickly set about cleaning and bandaging the less serious ones. Pausing before she was about to pour medicine on the wound, she swiped at her forehead with a cloth from her invisible left arm. “It is a good thing he is out for this.” She said more to herself rather than conversationally. “He would be in a lot of pain otherwise."

Elias didn't have anything helpful to add to that, but he did agree. How ironic that the former ruling Queen of Hearts couldn't ignore pain much more than he could. He remembered the first day he and Whip had killed Lowlanders together. Elias had been a bloody mess, but it was mostly superficial. It was nothing compared to the gaping hole in Rai's chest and the smaller punctures in his shoulder, plus whatever was affecting his system. Yes, Rai was going to be feeling this. No, he wasn't going to like it at all. He finally spoke, voice rumbling and a little harsh from his silence for so long. "He'll be in pain ten ways from tomorrow, for sure. Not all of it physical." They betrayal from one son, insane or not, the seeming betrayal of another, even Elias was a conspirator by his lack of action. Dre. Iggy. They'd all more or less turned away from Rai, trusting him to be strong enough to break his own nature. Trusting him to love himself more than his children. It wasn't soft, it was normal. The problem was, being normal in this family seemed impossible, or at least hazardous to one's health. "We all hoped for the best, and planned for the worst. That phrase sure is a lot easier to swallow when you get the best." His laugh was barely audible and bitter. "He's been through more than a person should. He better not let it break him." He was almost talking to Elyse, but really, he just needed to voice is grief. Grief that things came to this. Grief that he failed his friend when he didn't kill his friend's son to stop it. Grief that he would have failed his friend as well had he killed the son. Why did things here have to be so complicated? In the Marsh, he just kept to himself, killed whatever slime slid his way, and kept things simple. Simple was a trifle lonely, but simple was happy. He thought. Of course, right now, he didn't know what he thought. He shifted his personal blame to Rai, to Ira, to Se, to Iggy and Dre, back to himself in a circle of guilt. The thoughts wouldn't get him anywhere, but they would keep him thinking, for a short time, about how close his friend was to his last breath. And now he was thinking of it. He walked back to the bed Rai was "resting" on. "What about that poison?" he asked Elyse. "Did any of it stick to something on the outside of him for you to determine what it was? Maybe it's having a bad effect in his system. Who knows what sorts of chemicals he's got in him from that Diamond wench."

As she tended to the the former Queen of Hearts she flicked an ear back, listening to what the human behind her was saying. She was not all that familiar with the man, having only met him a few times when she was younger and mostly then it was only a slight blur of memory. She could understand his pain though and she wished that there was something she could do to help him.
Sitting back on her heels, she gave a sigh and rubbed a weary hand over her brow. "I have run into this poison before, it is not too common but it is common enough to stumble across once or twice in my line of work. It is not something that will kill him - of that I am sure. The effects are the system slows down enough that to just the blind eye the victim looks to be dead."
She gave a frown at his terminology for her Aunt - even if it fit - she was a little insulted by the use though she said nothing aloud. "Because of wot may already be lurking in his system, I will not be able to see all the effects it has to him specific, if any, till he awakens."
With that she bent over him again to look more closely at the gaping wound in his chest.

She eavesdropped. Of course she eavesdropped; there was nothing else to listen to and nothing else to do. The cold dark wall that she pressed against frightened her and fear was not something the weapon was accustomed to.
She didn't like it. At all.
Ever since that stupid fight, though, she'd been hemmed in by desperation, restlessness, and a need to to do something! She would kick her master's butt for failing so utterly, but. . . he wasn't moving. He wasn't doing anything.
That scared her more than anything.
So she did something she'd never had reason to do before, something she'd never even wanted to. The whip shifted into bipedal form.
She was tall, and strongly built, equine in shape with over-sized ears and covered in stripes. Her long, silken cream hair fell in waves around her face and from her tail. Despite the suddenly cramped space, she put her hands firmly on her hips and stared hard at the man and woman. "Fix him." Her low voice was husky and, if heard it alone, it might be difficult to ascertain her gender. Fortunately, her bipedal form left little doubt of that.
When she turned to look down at the unconscious man's pale face, she caught sight of the hole in his chest. She immediately made a sound of distress and, given a chance, would push Elyse aside so she could hover over the man. "He's got a hole! Why does he have a hole there? That's bad!"

Elias nodded, missing any discontent that might have creeped into Elyse's voice. His mind had something new to work on and worry about. "If the poison slows down his systems, that should actually benefit him, right? Slow down the bleeding and all that?" He wondered if they needed to apply a medicine to counter the poison, and was about to ask when the equine female spoke. He had time to look up and register the look of concern or horror on her face, before she seemed to make a move toward Rai, imploring them to fix him. He moved between them, prepared to use force if necessary. Was this another one of Rai's kids or grandkids? How many did that son of a ^*&^ have? Something wasn't quite right about her, something different, but dealing with her was making it difficult to figure out exactly what that might be. "Who are you, and what the $*&% do you want?" He said, ruffling up a little. "We're trying to fix him, don't make things harder by getting in the way." He still wasn't quite sure he didn't need to throw her out.

"It slowing down his system is a great benefit to us. In all honesty there might not be much of him to fix had it not." With gentle hands she surveyed the damage that would need correction. It would need to be cleaned and stitches were going to be a must.
A movement out of the corner of her eye had her turning to her right. Eyes going wide she took in the sudden surprise of a stranger. Her mind went through quick analysis on the bipedal. The lack of markings, though caused her to hesitate for a moment, did not surprise her as much as it might once have had she not already had Khloris. It was also apparent from her concern that she was not here to cause he Heart harm.
Grateful that Elias had stepped in between she turned her attention back to her first priory, her patient. They would need to act fast. "Will one of you pass me the blue vial?"

The zorse snorted loudly at the canine who dared question her right to be there; obviously she was the only one who really did have a right and the rest of them were lucky to be licking up the crumbs. "I don't have to explain myself to you, old man El," she retorted with a toss of her head.
Enyo snatched the blue vial before the Josiggy Marshdweller could stop her and clutched her to her chest much like a guilty child. "I have to help. He's mine." It was stated in such a way that it would be impossible to misunderstand just who she was referring to, especially since her eyes went worriedly to the unconscious Card yet again. Still, when she looked back at the Club Queen, her eyes held more pleading than defiance, regardless of what she thought might show in her gaze.
