Elias leveled a gaze at the woman. She didn't seem affected by his mask, which was nice but a little annoying right now, as being able to intimidate his way into getting his way would be much easier. Maybe later it would be nice to have a conversation where someone could look him in the eye. "Alright. You can help," he said. He didn't mention that he wouldn't hesitate to throw her butt out with extreme prejudice should she get in the way. "Give her the vial like she asked, and then either help or stay out of her way, whichever she needs." He waited for her to comply before asking again (and much more politely), "Now who are you again?" He couldn't remember ever seeing her, and now that things were calm, certain things were popping into his vision. Most notably the lack of a mark. Was she a Joker, then? He'd heard of them, though he wasn't sure he'd ever seen one. Of course, he didn't want to offend her and ask WHAT she was. Not yet, anyway. He cared less about offending her than about her getting offended and not telling him what he wanted to know.

Ignoring the dispute that was going on behind her between the new female and Queen, she finished examining the wound. Only glancing over her shoulder quickly she reached out with one hand for the vial. Once it was in hand she turned her full attention back to the task at hand.
Uncorking it, she tilted the vial, slowly, carefully, eying the measurement that she would need for the task. It would only take a little to allow the contents to clean the wound. Wrinkling her nose slightly at the smell that resulted showing that it was doing its task, she re-corked it and handed it back over her shoulder to be taken.
Picking up a towel that lay on the bed besides her with one of her invisible arms she dabbed gently at the wound, catching what she could. For the next part in the task, she would need the needle and thread.

She obediently handed off and regained the blue vial even as she stared defiantly-- as well as she could-- at the old man. She could call him that, after all, for she really wasn't that old and the canine was older than her master anyway. But he was being nicer now and because she was still worried, she answered distractedly.
"I'm Enyo, of course," she replied, her voice implying that he obviously should have known that already. "And you're old man El, and she's Ader's daughter. . . Ellie something." Her tone, again, said that she didn't really care about the topic and was more trying to reassure them that she wasn't some random stranger. Which, of course, she still was.
"Wot are you doing to him?" she asked now, gaze locked worriedly to the hole and the pale face it was attached to. She could only hope that Elliesomething was helping and not hurting the man.

Of course? What was wrong with the girl? Old man El? Elliesomething? Was she just making this up and being eerily lucky with the names? El hadn’t noticed the fact that his name was so similar to Elyse’s because, frankly, who cared? Old man El sounded like something one of the kids would say, or maybe Whip.
“Now, just stay back,” he said to her staring. “Elyse can’t help him if she doesn’t have room to work. I don’t suppose you’ve ever seen anybody get hurt like that, have you sugar? Elyse here is a healer, she’s going to make him better. She’s got to get that hole there healed up. Now she’ll probably sew it together. You might not want to watch that,” he added, thinking that watching stitches might push the high-strung looking woman over the edge. He’d personally seen some gaping wounds, and they hadn’t bothered him. One time seeing an old bulldog sew himself shut with a needle that wasn’t sharp enough had done him in, though. It wasn’t pleasant.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Enyo" Elyse replied half distracted, most of her attention being focused on the task in front of her. It was often the case that while she was healing someone, either the patient or those attending with them needed to make light conversation just so that they were able to fall into the range of expected behavior or have something to distract themselves with.
Reaching over to the side table she picked up another container and poured it over her hands, making sure that it was captured in a bowl underneath. Hands now sanitized she reached for the needle and thread, efficiently threaded the needle then turned her full attention to the body of her current patient.
"Now that I have cleaned the wound I will need to stitch it up that way it heals." She explained. After only a glance over her shoulder and a nod of her head she bent forward, her eyes intent on the task, and made the first stitch.

"I've hurt people worse than that," Enyo snapped, her eyes shifting to Elias only to wander back to Elyse worriedly. "I'm not your sugar, I already told you what I am. . . What do you mean sew it?"
She gasped when Elyse made the first stitch, unable to stop herself from taking an abortive step forward. Her hands grabbed onto Elias' arm unconsciously, tightening worriedly. "Is she hurting him? She can't hurt him anymore!" As though her demands would stop Elyse from being able to hurt the unconscious man.
On the one hand she understood that it had to be sewn up, but for the most part it just really bothered her. She'd had a rip in her handle once, and Rai had taken her to get sewn up so it wouldn't get worse. So she was aware that it had to be like that, but not so emotionally uninvolved that she wasn't horribly bothered by the sight.

Despite wanting to be the first person to hit Rai when the stallion woke up, he thought it might be best if he distracted Enyo and got her away. It wasn't doing the woman any good to watch, and even though she was restraining herself right now, El wasn't quite certain she would continue to do so. All Rai needed was someone jostling Elyse while she tried to suture him up.
"All right, Enyo, let's just move. . .away. Come one, let's get something to drink. I"m thirsty, anyway. Maybe hungry. It's a good idea to eat even if you're don't feel hungry; you don't know when your next chance to eat will be." He moved to the corner of the room where some refreshments had been brought in by a quiet servant. They did that fairly often now since they for the most part couldn't stand to look at him. "What would you like, Enyo? If it's not here, it won't be hard to find it."

Elyse was thankful when Elias tried to distract Enyo. Though she was sure the fellow female would mean no harm it was indeed the one thing that she did not need to happen right now.
While stitching up the equine her whole focus was on him and the next stitch. Having a lot of practice in the field of stitching people up the work was done quickly and efficiently. Making the last stitch she quickly tied it off before apply a cream to help keep the inflammation down and to help speed up recovery.
Sitting back she stretched her back and arms, releasing any tension that had built up from being crunched over and tense. Now all she would need to do was wrap it up and wait for him to awaken.
"Elias, Enyo, I will need your help for the next part. I need you to prop him up and support him while I wrap up his chest and bind his arm so he does not injure it more when he awakes."

Enyo wasn't really distracted as Elias led her to stare at the food and drinks; as far as she was aware she didn't need either. She didn't really feel trying it now anyway. So she simply stood by the canine's side and waited for him to pick something as she kept looking over her shoulder worriedly. From over here she couldn't see what the woman was doing as well, and it caused the zorse to shift from one hoof to the next uneasily.
Finally, the mouse called them back over and Enyo darted over immediately. She very, very gently, pulled him part way upright so she could slide behind the still unconscious man, and just as carefully held onto him. Her expression still proved how worried she was, but being able to touch him seemed to help at least partially. She very gently touched his pale cheek with her soft nose and breathed out a sigh.

Elias winced and tried to beat the woman to Rai, but she was a hair faster. He didn't dare pull her off when she had already grabbed him, and he would have been in the way, so he watched cautiously and sourly.
She was the epitome of gentle, and it was quite touching. She was so devoted to him, and so caring, it made something in his heart well up. He wasn't prepared to deal with it, so he quickly shut that part of himself off, but it was touching nonetheless.
Where had she been just short years ago? With her by his side, he might not be in this situation. He might not even have sired the youngling that was so bent on his death.
Elias wished that Rai had this woman in his life years ago to watch out for him. Maybe in some other world he did, and could find happiness.
"I hope you brought the good dope, Doc, because he's going to need it." The wounds were far worse than anything he'd seen the stallion have to deal with thus far.
